"Father," Galahad corrected. Well, more like the cat that helped make them and then left to have more. "And I'm quite satisfied with one pain in the tail already."

Joe snorted, then glanced over at Galahad suspiciously. "Do you mean me?" he asked. "I think I'm quite tranquil compared to some cats." His neighbors, for example. They never went quiet. He wondered how their housefolk didn't go insane listening to them.

"No, I mean the dandelion by my paw. Of course you!" Galahad snipped, shaking his head. "I got lucky. It's relatively quiet where I live, but they also let me explore whenever I want. Win-win."

Joe instinctively glanced over at his paws, then snorted again. "My neighbors are a pain. Always yowling at each other. It's ridiculous. I don't know how their housefolk deal with it. " He shook his head.

"Well, maybe they're old. Old cats lose their hearing, so maybe they do, too?" Galahad shrugged, licking one of his pale gray paws. "Must be fun being their neighbors."

"Well, they're very annoying," Joe muttered. He glared at his brother. "Yes, it's amazing being woken up in the middle of the night to them yowling about going to the bathroom. I swear, they have the smallest blatters in the world."

"Yes, I would love a lazy dog," Joe replied ruefully. "The cats I live with are much too rambunctious. Just the other day I spotted them tearing through the yards after a squirrel. That would be disgusting." He wrinkled his nose at the thought of eating fur and bones.

"I don't know about squirrels, but I ate a mouse, once," Galahad hummed, ears twitching. "It was scaring the dog, and I killed it, but didn't want to waste it, so I ate it. Not bad. Would do it again. I'm not picky like you."
