He saw that she was really trying to get him to eat. For her, he walked over to the food bowl and took a bite of what was in there, his stomach immediately regretting it, but for her he took a few more bites.

Gem let out a relieved mew and studied Shadow for signs of bellyache, hoping the food he had just eaten wouldn't resurface. "How do you feel?" She asked uncertainly. Hopefully he would be able to keep the tiny meal down.

Gem nodded, eyes brightening as she gave a skip of enthusiasm. "See, you're already better than yesterday!" She exclaimed, a purr building in her throat. She sat back on her haunches and raised her front paws to bat at the air. "You'll be out fighting off strays in no time," she joked.
