Rookscreech had never been particularly disturbed by foreign smells, having sound as her main sense. And ShadowClan was nothing new.
"Pretty sure it's normal. Plus, I'm not sure if Dawnstar is still leaving the flayed pelts of the dead around here so who knows." she said casually, as if it was a normal thing to reference.

The lanky warrior marked the border pragmatically, zoning out a little as she tended to do when on patrol.

Dovedance shared a glance with Rattail as she followed the tom, her silver-and-white pelt glowing beneath the sunlight. She shivered at the chill of the wind. The warrior let out out a grumble. ''I don't see how WindClan cats can stand living on the moor! I'd hate to feel the wind in my fur,'' Dovedance shuddered.

Rattail chuckled lightly ad the she-cats comment. "The wind is fine with me, i just dont understand not having trees for cover yknow, everyone and everything can see you, what are you gonna do? go underground? that sounds like a deathwish to me, But for some reason they enjoy it." He shook his fur out from the phantom feeling of being underground

''Not having trees for cover?'' Dovedance scoffed playfully, flattening her ears. The she-cat lifted her head and tail high, as if she was confident. ''Sometimes, I envy ThunderClan for their lucious oak forests. They have all the cover and we only have half of it,'' She purred.

"thats true, but dont the oak trees block less of that wind you said you didnt like? they have more widespread leaves so the trees themselves arent as dense like the pinetrees, letting more wind through the forest floor" He turned to look at Dovedance as he spoke and just about tripped on a willow tree root, he didnt make any noise from the almost face first trip he made to the wetlands ground but the panic was visible in his face for a second.

He coughed once to try and ignore what had just happened before checking the scent lines and remarking them, hoping that his misstep wasnt noticed

"true but ive learned to tune that out by this point, its just a background feeling now" Rattail looked around for a second before yawning "Im not smelling or seeing anything off so i think we can safely head back and report that the border is quiet"

O....kay no one was in the mood for jokes. Fair enough, Deadmoon wasn't either. As evidenced by the, frankly, terrible attempt at one she'd just made which had fallen flatter than a squirrel hit by a monster. She wasn't sure what response was appropriate to Rookscreech's alarmingly casual mention of flayed pelts(of course she remembered them well, but Foxpaw might never have heard and probably didn't need to hear) so Deadmoon settled for silence. She was really doing well with this 'keeping the tone light' thing, huh? A true professional! At least the border was mostly marked? Scampering down to the very end of it she set the last few scent marks before calling out I think we're done, let's head back to camp! to her clanmates, heading in that direction herself. Thank goodness nothing had gone wrong. @Shade. @Katiethewolfchild

Rookscreech finished marking her section of the border, yawning a bit. How was she already tired? She smiled at Deadmoon and waved her tail at her apprentice, signaling that it was time to go.

Foxpaw winced at the comment. Wait flayed pelts! Why would you do that?! ShadwClan was weird and frightening! The large almost four moon old headed back to camp with the warriors. @gs29513 @Shade.
