A few notes -

- RiverClan/ShadowClan feuding has always been a thing! It dates back to Clan Origins actually (which Dipper and I were working on), where RiverClan split into ShadowClan due to a disagreement. In roleplay, the Clans have fought each other a lot - even tore the forest into a massive war once too I believe. Lion refueled it because of a border conflict where "ShadowClan moved the border into RiverClan territory" and Windystar/Forestshade did nothing to fix it or investigate further. Lionstorm at the time readied a battle patrol to attack ShadowClan over the border, but because Windy/Forest had died and resigned respectively, he didn't attack. ShadowClan was pretty disrespectful to him though so.. he took some of their territory and attempted to steal fire from the old TC flames to burn them too. (ShadowClan is very swampy so it didn't cause much damage.)

He met Icestar when she was already leader, strutting around like a proud goose and trespassing in his land. A couple apprentices had gone over to the border but did not trespass, and she still felt inclined to 'escort them back home' because RiverClan couldn't keep their kits in line. (Funnily enough, ShadowClan has had more trespassing issues than RiverClan. Repeatedly, they've been caught over the border and have caused fights or harassed RC cats in their own home. Stinkers!)

- ShadowClan never raided RiverClan. ShadowClan only raided ThunderClan.

The first raid against ShadowClan was because Crowtail - the ShadowClan deputy - and another warrior crossed the border to steal prey. Lion was pretty sick of ShadowClan's attitude already so he used this as cause to raid their camp. Unfortunately, during this battle RiverClan lost their deputy Frostfall / Frostflight.

The second was pre-emptive, because Lion was worried Ice would use her victory over ThunderClan as a booster to rally her Clan into attacking RiverClan. With his Clan's approval, they launched the raid and squeaked a victory.

- Duskstar lost a life to smoke inhalation and her face was burned by a falling branch. Lionstar grew sick of ThunderClan's presence because their leadership had done nothing to help the Clan out. Duskstar was uninvolved and Softbriar was nowhere. His resources were being sapped so he kicked them out to put them in a position where they couldn't leech from him anymore.

RiverClan previously sheltered ShadowClan under Fallenstar's leadership and sucked up their camp resources. Lionstar didn't want a repeat of this and because so many Clans had taken advantage of their kindness, he is disinterested in helping them out with temporary respite. WindClan is only an exception because they haven't done what the other Clans have.. and he likes Twilight/Coyote a lot.

Buckbranch was made deputy. He was deputy for about five minutes before Dusk left with him to the Starcave.

Lion stole fire from a campfire, not the TC fire. TC's fire was long over - it died the same day it burned due to heavy rainfall. In Lion's defense too, he wouldn't have known about the queens/kits. Most Clans evacuate them outside of their camp but within walking distance - the Waterbarn (now Mourning Ruins) is a good trek away. He did know it was the likely spot for their makeshift camp though, so there's that.

Eyyyy juicy pre 'me joining the site' info thanks! It seems I got most of my stuff good enough for how well I normally note take but I'll update what I didnt (with thanks/kudos to you for corrections of course) but Im glad most of the stuff I missed was minor details for the most part.
One Q Ive got is that I was under the impression that Buckbranch was never officially announced as dep before Duskstar resigned did I miss seeing the meeting where that occurred or was it just a mention and never a full blown thing?

It was in the last meeting Duskstar did. The meeting was otherwise pretty uneventful (and took forever, too!) so it's not a surprise you missed it!

A To Both: That's maybe ShC's fault, they were making themselves the "bad guys".

@Mando @Jessica1917 they are both often the bad guys and also not tbh theres a lotta evil cats in that clan and they're defiantly more battle focused then others but they're also the smallest clan generally and the territory is undoubtedly one of the more difficult ones. Theres good and bad cats in every clan and say what you will but SC is one of the most closely knit generally, they dont really have defectors while TC and RC have members being exiled and leaving regularly Ive noticed. But yeah they do excel in making themselves the bad guys a lot
