This was depressing.

The grey tom was fighting his own daughter because he was angry. What happened to him?

A spark of anger and excitement appeared in his eyes, soon lighting up into a flame.

"Your jealous" she said with a snort.

His eyes widened, looking the ginger molly in the eye. His teeth were bared, his breath quickening. Ashstep didn't even seem to notice the fear in his daughters eyes.

But then again, could he consider the molly his daughter? Surely not, she reminded him of all the mistakes he made in life. Killing a loner, going out on patrol, dying, and most of all, meeting Foxjump, falling for her!
One of his eyes twinged, "And why do you say that, Flamepaw?"

She woke up, a tear rolling down her face. Her fur covered in blood. She was horrified. I have to get to Foxjump! she thought, running out of the apprentices den.

Slinking out from under the brush around the clearing, Shatteredbreeze blinked her amber orbs in frustration. Where was her new recruit? She had sworn that a new apprentice would be arriving tonight, and she was hellbent on being their mentor. “Stormpaw!” She called out, sitting down on her haunches. Yes, the small kit might be frightened when they realize where they were, but Shatteredbreeze didn’t care. She was falling behind, her other three apprentices weren’t working hard enough. Although Daturapaw was promising... not nearly as disappointing as Waterwimp. With a hiss, the golden tabby began to groom her scarred shoulder, rasping her tongue over her pelt.
