Tallmarsh quickly ducked in the den and backed as far as she could into it. She felt her fur bristle instinctually upon hearing the Two-Leg's garbled language. The warrior couldn't for the life of her understand how this kittypet could rub up against a Two-Leg like she would another cat. Seeing that it had finally retreated back into its rock den, she slunk out of Wren's den and over to the kittypet. "I just don't understand how you like living with them," she sighed as she eyed the mice excitedly. "But those mice do smell nice."

Wren shrugged. "I don't love living with them but, it's better than being homeless. Either way, they leave me alone most of the time." Padded over behind the bowl, she crouched down, looking up at Tallmarsh. "Have as many as you want." With that, the brown tabby took a bite of one of the warm mice. A purr rumbled in her throat as the warm flavor made it's way onto her tongue. Swallowing, she spoke, "My humans now have a kit of their own now so they spend most of their time inside their den. I don't know how they put up with it. All it does is cry and sleep. Never really actually gives them affection." She took another bit of the mouse she had picked out.

Tallmarsh joined Wren at the bowl after glancing cautiously up at the Two-Leg nest and grabbed a mouse to eat. She took a big bite and gave a sigh of happiness as the flavors melted on her tongue. She'd never actually had a mouse that was warm, whether it was magically heated by a Two-Leg or just previously alive a few seconds ago, and she had to admit that it was delicious.

"Lucky for us both, then," she replied between bites. "When I was a kit and living with a Two-Leg, it would never leave me or my sister alone. My sister, Rasine, loved the attention, but I couldn't stand the Two-Leg petting me with its oily hands. And the food..." She shuddered at the thought of those disgusting pellets. "You have it much better here. Almost makes me want to stay. Emphasis on almost."

As much as she liked the taste of warm mice and the thought of being able to come and go as she pleased with a nice warm den to look forward to, Tallmarsh could never subject herself to kittypet life again. For one thing, she would be humiliated if anyone in the Clans found out. The former medicine cat of ThunderClan turned into a kittypet after she got demoted. Pathetic.

After she found Rasine she'd have a choice to make: go back to the Clans (obviously not ThunderClan, she knew when she wasn't welcome somewhere), or become a loner. Neither option seemed very appealing. She knew she could never be a member of ThunderClan under Duskstar's rule, and she doubted any of the other Clans would be willing to take her in. She gave a small sigh and grabbed another mouse to eat after she'd finished the first. She'd just wait until she found her sister.

Biting into a jucey mouse, her golden eyes flicked back and forth from the mice to the blue furred she. "Yeah." Listening to what she said she took another bit. "Yeah you don't seem like the type for the house cat life. I mean, this life is okay. Yes the food is great but, your life seems more interesting, actual things going on instead of the same old routine every day and night." Taking another bite and then swallowing, "I guess it's a trade off. A couple good things in your life, a couple boring or bad. Something like that, ya know?" Wren licked her lips before going in for another bite.
