"Well that's... an entrance?" Fawnsqueak stared at her, a little dumbfounded since he wasn't sure that was normal... or a figure of speech. Probably best not to question the pregnant one. Gaze sliding past her, tightness formed in his throat when he saw Lionstar, expression hardening. He was glued to where he stood, just silently daring Lionstar to attempt talking to him so he could be pointedly ignored.

...And when he didn't, Fawnsqueak didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved. Guess it was time to get to work.

Noting the cobwebs on their wounds, he quirked an eyebrow. "I.. I'm going to assume the bleeding stopped, probably?" He was cautious in removing and only continued when he was certain there wasn't about to be a gush. As he worked, he chewed the chervil to the consistency Coyotesnarl had told him--and he'd practiced--only to massage it into the wound. "Uh, infection prevention. In theory."

Otterstone crawled outta from the herb crack. There was Echobreeze. And wailing about the kittens.

She came for ward, hesitant at first, before coming close and feeling her belly. Her belly was heaving and quivering. “I’m pretty sure you’re having your kits.” She looked at the queen.

Otterstone averted her gaze from Lionstar as he entered, but came close to Blazeclaw. “I can patch you up, what seems to be wrong?”

“I was clawed in the throat by a Thunderclan warrior” he says looking at her eyes filled with pain. @CheetahPelt

She shot a look at Fawnsqueak, but nodded. “Fawnsqueak has used some of our short store of chervil, but you should be ok.” She resmoothed a new patch of cobwebs over the chervil poultice her apprentice had put in place. “Here are some poppy seeds. Come back if it starts to feel hot, or you have other symptoms.”

“Okay” he says walking out of the den to Lionstars den.

Fawnsqueak didn't know he'd be working with the type of cat who couldn't manage to avoid saying the obvious. But.. he was patient, and he could just ignore it. Perhaps he should help since she wasn't seeing the obvious.. "She is wounded, you know. Do you want to look at those, or...?" She could comment on the pregnancy later if she had to, the scrapes were more pressing.

"Don't forget about the other scratches," he pointed out idly. "I already checked him over, Otterstone. You don't have to worry about it. Coyotesnarl showed me how." He knew about the cobwebs and infection prevention, all that was needed for the treatment. Upon looking up, he frowned. "Don't you think you shouldn't... do that? Put more cobwebs on? He wasn't bleeding anymore," a short, uncomfortable laugh, a swish of his tail, "because I wouldn't have taken them off in the first place if he had been. Don't waste it, man."

So this is how it was going to be.

She turned to Fawnsqueak, lips pursed. “Yes.” She paused, narrowing her eyes. “Coyotesnarl.”

She turned, her tail swishing behind her. Padding back to the herb crack to shuffle old herbs out and fresh herbs in she responded. “I put a new patch on his throat over the poultice you placed so that it wouldn’t wear off as easily. The throat is a place that bleeds easy and scabbing comes off at a moments notice. It’s always good to make sure.

Fawnsqueak was here for two days and already thought he knew more then Otterstone. If this was going to be their whole relationship it would get tiring very quickly.

Snagging a few other herbs she moved over to Echobreeze, running over what she had learned. No Tansy or poppy seed. It would be good. Borage would help tremendously.
