Snowstar walked out of her den, looking at the camp under her. Only a few days have passed since Burningstar had left them. She had gained control over the clan. She looked for her deputy, Brooksong, who she was determined to be friends with. Snowstar hadn't tried to be friends with any cat other than Burningstar. But now, she at least had to have the same Leader-deputy relationship with her new deputy.

Chestnutpaw flicked his tail back and forth, back and forth, his pale green eyes sweeping the camp. A glance up revealed the presence of Snowstar, his new leader, and he took on her shining white pelt and blazing eyes as she scanned the clearing below her. She’s no Blazingstar, he thought, but she’s still a great leader. He missed his old leader, who’d been in charge since he was born, but didn’t mind the fact that his old deputy Snowfoot had taken over. She’s decent; she hasn’t screeched at me yet. Chestnutpaw raised his head from where it was resting on his paws and drew his gaze away from Snowstar, instead looking towards the warriors den. Wonder if anyone’s up...

A young molly awoke inside her moss nest, crystal blue eyes blurry from sleep as she stretched, then placing her long limbs under her, she walked over to the medicine shelves. She quickly scanned to see if she was low on anything, if any herbs were rotting, or if hey were unorganized. The calico she-cat looked away, satified with her stores as her small paws made their way to the elders' den. On her way she dipped her multi-colored head to the new leader, Snowstar. She missed Burnstar, but she had some respect for the white-furred molly, for not letting this clan break. Dapplepool dipped her head again, this time in the seniors' den, listening to any irregular breathing or problems. She nodded quietly, stepping back. The medicine feline noticed Chestnutpaw and smiled warmly, waving her tail in greeting.
