Irisgaze waited for the apprentices to return. She started to groom herself as she realized her pelt was messy. Why are the apprentices taking long? I hope nothing happens to them. She thought and then fear washed over her. No that wouldn't be right. If something happened I would have heard them! She let herself relaxed.

As Claypaw leaped out of the trees he noticed Sparrowpaw also getting close, so he sped up going full speed now and reaching Irisgaze before him.

Birchtail was in the elders den. He had just awoke from his nap. stood up but pained came to him. He laid back down and realized one of his paws were cracked. He yowled loudly, calling a sign for the medicine cats.

"alright" he said turning away from windpaw and grabbing some coltsfoot. he towards brichtail and droped the coltsfoot and asked "i need to see your pad".
