With a nod, Pikekit did as Fawnsqueak instructed. Slowly, he stretched his leg further out, just barely reaching its full extension- right when a fresh jolt of pain shot through it. He winced, a sharp intake of breath and gritted teeth, as his entire body tensed back up with it. That hurt.

Pikekit focused on just breathing through it as the tensed muscles in his legs gradually released again, and he was able to draw it back up close to his side. Evidently, whatever the issue was, it was just as positionally based as it was on movement.. He dropped his chin to his paws, groaning lowly at the hassle of it all.

“Ow,” he stated, rather succinctly.

"Aaalrighty, why don't you just.." he tapered off as his eyes raked Puffpelt, "just take it easy, y'know?" If he said he was dying, Fawnsqueak was inclined to believe him. Not much there could be done about that if it was age-related.

Puffpelt nodded, and went to take a rest. (Maybe he can't wake up on his own, and needs you to wake him with water on his face?)

Fawnsqueak blinked. That... that actually did something? His recommendation hadn't been an attempt at a cure but a quest for more knowledge on the ailment, and it'd failed on the latter front but at least they no longer had a problem to contend with since the leg seemed to straighten on its own. "I've literally never seen that," he admitted, under the assumption it'd been a broken bone. They were.. mysterious.

"So, uh, you good then?" Fawnsqueak asked and didn't bother to contain the genuine surprise from his meow. This had turned out much better than he could've asked, and yet he was disappointed when it felt his role in the healing had been incredibly minimal. Still very puzzled, he commented, "I'll have to take note of that..."

Fawnsqueak yawned and stretched the sleep from his muscles, rising to his paws. It was probably as good of a time as ever to check on the elders of the clan after Puffpelt had wandered in with a wicked cough and... oh, that's right. Puffpelt.

His eyes wandered to the nest the elder occupied, and a spike of alarm coursed through him at his too-still body movements. ...Was the guy even alive? He approached, cautious, and extended a paw to prod at his shoulder.

No response. Fawnsqueak had figured something like this might happen. "Alright," he said, feeling content in his solitude since Puffpelt seemed to have left this plane of existence. "I'm gonna.. be right back. I think. ...Stay right here." Heh... morbid little joke for the circumstances, an attempt to lighten his mood. Didn't work that well.

With an awkward clearing of his throat, he departed from the den.

Lionstar entered the den, grumbling from the annoyance of being disturbed over an elder.

It hardly seemed worth his time. "So he's dead," Lionstar said without looking too much into it. "Why did you need me..? Just grab someone and bury him." If he was in the medicine cat den, it was unlikely it was just old age.. and he'd rather play things safe if this was caused by some sickness.
