Moonfeather yawned and stretched, feeling a tad bit tired. She got up and did the daily chore, which was to check for any rotten herbs that might be harmful to any cats. She got near each herbs, checking them, and put them in two neat piles.
Deep in the forest, a fox was lurking. Muzzle covered with the blood of his prey, he was looking for a specific target. He was searching for the end of the milky scent trail. Finally he found the first sign he was close: a loud wail. He sped up, eventually arriving.
The queen was nursing 5 kits.
The fox snarled in pleasure and pounced. He snapped two little necks before the queen took action.
"No!" she cried, pouncing on the fox.
The fox simply threw her off into a tree and continued. He snapped what he thought were the last two when the queen pounced again. The fox, instead of throwing her off again, snapped at her throat. He missed, but still got a fatal blow in. He was about to make her end swifter, but he scented a final live kit.
He was looking for her, but the queen stood up and, on trembling legs, hobbled to him and said, "D-Destiny Bond," before collapsing.
The fox only had a few seconds before he couldn't breathe and crumpled beside the queen.
(Ok. Wildkit's father left when her mother was expecting. Also, the mother had only one power: Destiny Bond. That's how Wildkit survived the attack.)
The kit woke up. Her eyes were still closed, and she got hungrier every second. Somehow, she knew that, unless a new mother came and saved her, she would end up like her family and the fox. She dragged herself over to her mother's body and buried her nose into her fur.

"Meep!" The kit said, surprised. But once the initial surprise wore off, she tilted her head back and opened her brilliant purple eyes for the first time.

Feather star glared down at her."I know you have no parents but you need to stop sneaking out!" She hissed,picking the kit up and going back to camp with her. "I didn't even get to catch one price of prey." she thought bitterly
