And I can definitely do that - come on in." She should be able to do this on her own, right? It couldn't be that bad. The feline swallowed, hoping she would make the right decision here. Second guessing herself was common, but she was able to make a decision pretty easily. This? Well, Caliapaw wasn't sure that that particular trait of being decisive was going to come into play here very much... if at all.
She smiled and headed over begining clear then mutter the last phrase,” I got a huge rake a couple months ago on my belly...that darn trespassing Dusk Syndicate tom...” she muttered before speaking up again,” It scarred I know, don’t worry I won’t be mad if you need to get Surgestorm or Shinefang because you haven’t had much training. And if your wrong...” she gave Caliapaw a gentle lick on the ear, a comforting lick,” I won’t blame you...your only training.” She smiled she truthfully wouldn’t blame Caliapaw if she was incorrect whatsoever. She’d simply tell her Keep Trying. You’ll get it right one day.

The medicine cat examined the wound, it appeared to have scarred up okay... there wasn't any sign of infection, was she - was she right? BSTS. If it was scarred, then Chameleonvine should be okay to return to warrior duties. "I think you're clear to go." She made no remark to the kinder comment that Chamelonvine had given her, while Caliapaw appreciated the kind words, she didn't like feeling like she was being talked down to. And that seemed exactly like the type of comment someone would make along the lines or 'poor girl' or something equally as infuriating. If Zerosight said otherwise, the she cat would listen - she was just training. She still didn't know how to deal with major wounds. If something serious happened to a warrior, Caliapaw would be in big trouble - or, more likely, they would. All those poor cats who were counting on her...

Chameleonvine smiled,” Thanks. Don’t worry. Alright. Zerosight can always help in an emergency worst case situation...” she purred licking Caliapaw’s ear softly.

Her last patient now gone, Caliapaw was muttering to herself and moving around, taking a look at the herbs that were remaining, her expression serious as she sorted through them. "We could use more chamomile... and yarrow..." Her voice trailed off as she took a mental note of everything that there was a lot of or less of. As far as she could tell, there wasn't much of a shortage of anything else - more catmint and borage couldn't have hurt, but Caliapaw was pretty sure those things would be in short order at the moment. She could only hope they wouldn't be sorely needed. Her green-gold eyes scanned the rest of the den next, examining the neatness of it. She'd been working on cleaning it up - sorting and such - and right now, everything was in perfect order. There had been no emergencies, thank StarClan, since Caliapaw doubted she would be able to deal with one at the moment.

Right now all she was good for was checking over wounds and cleaning scratches, which made her even more against the tension with WindClan. A lot of her clanmates weren't happy with it as well, but for different reasons; Caliapaw simply didn't want to struggle with figuring out how to fix the more serious wounds. She would end up losing more patients then she saved. The she cat was slightly angry with StarClan at the moment, for leaving her here alone without a mentor, and while Zerosight might be able to help her - he couldn't train her completely. The other medicine cats could help her as well, but Caliapaw really could have used Wheatfur alive right now. "I'm pretty sure the Clan wouldn't be too happy with me if I resigned or disappeared right now." The feline heaved a sigh, looking down at the ground.

She hadn't realized this was going to be that stressful. She hadn't realized that it was going to automatically make her "popular" either, otherwise she never would have agreed. All that was left now was to try and make Wheatfur proud and live up to the standards that she was pretty sure the Clan had already made for her.

@RedHead

"Go get your wounds checked Foxpaw. Go fetch some clean bedding Foxpaw. Go do this Foxpaw!" The ginger apprentice lashed her tail in anger as she limped into the medicine cat's den, her voice set in a mocking tone. She was not happy. The usually so bubbly, optimistic feline was down in the dumps, her ears pinned against her head in anger as she wandered into the den. So many things had happened lately in her life, and Foxpaw was not handling it well.

First of all, her uncle, her dear beloved uncle whom was like a father to her, had become deputy recently. And Foxpaw felt like he never had time for her anymore. Then she went into that gathering battle against the DS, getting many nasty scratches from that good-for-nothing tom Flame. And lastly, her mother had just died. Now, Foxpaw didn't have the best relationship with her mother, she had never been around much. But she still felt hurt when her mother died. But not sadness hurt. More like anger hurt. Anger that neither of her parents had ever been there for her when she needed them. Anger that her grandmother was so strict and wouldn't let her do anything fun. Anger that her mentor was never around much anymore, and she hadn't been appointed a new one. She had barely learned anything, most of what she knew was self-taught. And then there was her uncle, whose time for her was diminishing every second. Yeah, Foxpaw had reasons to be mad, upset, and angry. But with her optimistic nature, she would try to find the good in these things. She just couldn't though, her mind was too clouded up with the thoughts of all the bad that's been happening, to find the good in her situations.

Spotting Caliapaw, Foxpaw snorted at the thought of being treated by an apprentice. Probably one younger than herself too at that. She wished her great-uncle were still here. But he had gone... Somewhere... She had always enjoyed teasing him, but now he was gone. And she had to deal with Caliapaw. "I was forced in here by my grandmother to get my wounds checked. She thinks my shoulder wound is infected and wanted you to check it." Foxpaw spat, sitting on the ground and curling her tail over her paws. She might as well be here rather than wandering the camp aimlessly with nothing to do because her mentor was gone. I really need to get Passionblaze to talk to Snowstar about getting me a new one...

Caliapaw looked over at the apprentice, an annoyed expression on her face. She did not appreciate being spoken to that way - it wasn't like Foxpaw had said anything nasty to her, but her tone was less then inviting. Caliapaw was already unsure about her job, but she thought a medicine cat deserved some respect. Nobody else could understand it; they might as well try to be pleasant. "Watch your tone." She mewed, not threateningly, but calmly - like she was giving Foxpaw a polite warning. This should be fun, the medicine cat thought sarcastically. Her tail twitching back and forth, she padded toward the other apprentice. Foxpaw was probably older then her, but the she cat got the feeling she hadn't matured quite as quickly. Caliapaw had almost been forced to grow up quicker, and while it hadn't been hard for her, she hadn't gotten as much experience with being just a carefree young apprentice.

Just three moons ago, she had been a kit in the nursery - about to have her apprentice ceremony. About a moon ago, she had become Wheatfur's apprentice. And now she was on her own. She examined the wounds on the other cat's body. "You probably should have come sooner." Caliapaw muttered, almost to herself but just in the hearing range of the other cat, her tail still twitching furiously as she glanced over them. Some of the wounds looked like they were healing okay - had Foxpaw rested more, they would probably be fully healed by now. As it was, they weren't quite scarring up right. At least they weren't still bleeding. Or swollen, but they weren't ready for Foxpaw to be going back to her training. Even if I'm wrong, some rest wouldn't hurt her. Like, at all. The she cat thought with a mental snort.

And then there was the shoulder wound. Zerosight had told her that it was easy to mistake a healing wound for an infected one, but for once, she was 100% sure that this was an infection. It had the scent of one, and while Zerosight had told her that sometimes scars would still be a reddish color, this was no scar. "Your shoulder is infected. What have you been doing?" The apprentice half-hissed, her eyes narrowing. Sometimes, she was glad she wasn't still a warrior apprentice. She could understand being driven, but what bothered her was being able to feel that something was wrong and continuing on anyways.

Didn't the apprentices understand? Caliapaw might have been younger then some of them, but sometimes it felt like she had twice the brains of them. Talking through the process of curing infections to herself, Caliapaw moved over toward the herb storage and grabbed some of the burdock root. Thankful that there was still some left, she carried it over towards Foxpaw and placed it beside her. "This might sting." She warned, her eyes flashing before she picked up some of the root, chewed it into a pulp, and gently began smearing it on the infected area.

The ginger feline wanted to bite back at the medicine cat's words. But she held her tongue. She knew that what she said could be used against her when it came time for her grandmother to talk about her behavior. And Foxpaw hated when Springingsky tried to give her proper behavior etiquette. In that moment, Foxpaw realized she was being rude for no reason. Caliapaw had done nothing wrong, why was she snapping at her? It's Springinsky who deserves my bad attitude. "Sorry. I'm just kinda upset with someone." Foxpaw mumbled, hoping her explanation was enough for the other she-cat.

As Caliapaw spoke once more, Foxpaw let her own eyes rake across her ginger pelt. She didn't see anything too terrible about the scratches, they were just scratches after all. All warriors had them, right? "I was patched up after the battle, but very quickly. I guess then I just forgot that I should have them thoroughly looked over." Foxpaw kept her tone even, careful not to allow herself to snap at Caliapaw again. Even in her angered state, the apprentice hated talking to cats in a tone that they did nothing to deserve. She liked being fair. "I honestly don't think I'd get anywhere if I lived in my own, my brain is too full of other things." She joked, swishing her bushy tail in amusement at her own little joke. Of course, at this stage in her life, it was natural for her to go from being rude and stand-offish the playful and kit-like.

"What have I been doing?" Foxpaw repeated her question, looking at her shoulder wound with curiosity. She had thought something was wrong with it, but never really acknowledged the fact that it could be pretty bad. "Uhh, well trying to train myself for one. My mentor isn't around much anymore." She looked up from her wound to Caliapaw, watching as the other young cat went to get something. When she came back with a weird, root looking thing, Foxpaw's ears twitched. Her orange eyes studied every detail of the plant, taking it in bit by bit. As Caliapaw began to chew up the root, Foxpaw couldn't help but grimace. She would never want a plant to be in her mouth, that was just disgusting! Foxpaw barley registered Caliapaw's statement before a quick flare of pain entered her shoulder. The apprentice winced, but stayed as still as she could, digging her claws into the ground below. "Does every herb make your wounds hurt? What's the point of them then? I thought they were supposed to make you feel better!?" Her voice was not accusing, but more upset, like she was disappointed with the plants used to heal.
