Shrouded in darkness, you hear a sugary sweet giggle. How innocent it sounds. Behind you, a pair of icy eyes watch you from the darkness.
"Oh, Darling,"
Says the voice, kind and warm.
"You need me."

Name: Unknown. Alias: Sweets. Age: Precise age unknown; appearance suggests late thirties. Gender: Afab demigirl - She/They. Family: [Classified].
Motivation: Unknown. Claims to be partaking in a 'game'. Skillset: Basic but growing herb knowledge (see report card), hunting, deception and manipulation. Additional notes: Her knowledge about herbs is put at the group's service within her area of capabilities. They have no qualms about dealing and researching poison, in fact, she's rather interested in it. She's willing to go on scouting missions.
Conditions:
Does not directly participate in kidnappings, unless absolutely necessary.
Her knowledge, her choice: will not openly share what she knows about herbs (exceptions may be made).
Travels: may sometimes leave for a short period to further her herb knowledge.
Other: In it for the game and experiment. For now, claims to swear no direct loyalty to these cats unless good reason is provided. However, never tattles on a good experiment. Might unwillingly adopt an attachée: said attachée will be kept away from the group and not know of them, but could potentially be used for plot purposes should Sweets be willing.
✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼
Who they are, where they come from, no one knows.
Their true name, their true age, their family or friends or lovers and knowledge - nothing is ever certain with this cat.
They may pretend to be an unknowledgeable and lost damsel in distress as easily as they pretend to be all-knowing - the thin line between lies and truth blurs with this feline; all they say, it is never quite a lie, never quite a truth.
How can you trust them? It's quite simple, you can't. You know you can't.
So why do you trust her anyway?
Sweets sees life as nothing but a game, a game they're willing to play. Be it playing a role or deceiving the king, they do anything to keep this little game going, to keep it fun.
Few would call her truly mad, most would call her benevolent and kind... Or a little off-putting if they are particularly perceptive. She plays a masterful role, and none have ever looked past the façade.
Every little aspect, every action and every choice - be it whim or truth - is just another move in this game of chess. She has no real goal, no true motivation. All they do is play the game, and the more challenging it becomes, the more intrigued Sweets gets. Until she wins. After all, what fun is life without a little challenge?
So why join this mad group of felines when, certainly, she is perfectly sane? (Is she?)
Well, it's just another game, isn't it? One that, perhaps, has a chance of proving interesting - unlike the last group that tried messing with the clans.
The brutes, only thinking of bloodshed and revenge... No, this is far more up her alley. And experiment. A chance to toy with the minds of the... Clans, as they call.
You see, this lanky tall feline first discovered the clans through the Dusk Syndicate - a group set on revolting against their tyrannical rule, for which she was a healer. Oh, how dreadful the clans sounded, eating their own kits! Sweets would almost believe them... If she cared, and if it didn't sound so exaggerated.
Nevertheless, it is interesting, no? Such a big group of cats living together in supposed harmony... They would certainly love to see how much trouble a little ragtag group of cats could cause for these all-mighty clan cats.
Sweets is intrigued by the experiment, by the idea of spreading chaos through such simple acts. By the game of cat and mouse they may end up playing. By all means, they are ready to accept the challenge.
But as always, Sweets rarely does anything for free. There's a fee they must pay, or conditions they must adhere to. Sweets, by all means, is not a violent cat - she prefers others to do her bidding. They will not put their skin on the line simply to knock out some cat, no... But what do they have to offer, then? If she wishes to work from the shadows only, not lift a paw to fight unless utterly necessary, why should they accept her?
To that she would say, the knowledge.
Certainly, you are mighty and strong, but no one leaves unharmed. It would be such a pity if you died of an unattended infection, and that after turning away one of the few cats who could've helped. Oh oh oh...
Marigolds, cobwebs, poppy seeds... She knows a few herbs and has turned an innocent but knowledgeable fool - a former medicine cat, in fact - into her oh-so-kind teacher. And why yes, she was informed about the... Potential permanent sleepiness poppy seeds might cause. She certainly wouldn't pass up a chance to experiment with doses on their victims - and other herbs, should they allow.
Doesn't that sound nice, a healer for their cute little group?
And yet how can she assure her position within the group, when she could be so easily disposable? Teach them the herbs she knows, never directly partake in a kidnapping, ah... Well, perhaps their first murder victim?
Oh dear, but that's not the future she seeks! Not quite, no. So what does she do? Well, not share her knowledge, for starters, and limit what they know she knows.
As mentioned before, Sweets only works under fair trades or conditions, few exceptions are made. Here, she offers healing to the little group, and keeps their victims drowsy - but does not partake in the dirty work that is kidnapping; her profile remains low, unknown. She makes appearances only when necessary, aiding the group of cats, planning and keeping tabs on the clans from afar... After all, they wouldn't want her cover to be blown, now would they? How else is she meant to gather more information, more knowledge, for them if every cat of the clans knew what she looked like?
An agent of the shadows, though their role is passive, they remain a threat. Unwilling to openly share their knowledge, they use whatever means necessary to be kept in the group... All the while not having to sully their paws ambushing their next victim - that is truly the only thing she wishes not to do. Though they are consistently present, Sweets every so often disappears on missions of knowledge and information... Or simple walks, covered with the very same excuse.
Can you trust her? She'll most certainly make you believe you can.

Ever since he was a young kit, he had an obsession with finding painful and slow ways of death. He first experimented with the humans rat poisonings, trick feeding it to starving strays who knew no better. The results were magnificent... But not as efficient as he wanted. More and more ideas were tested, until he moved on into finding more natural ways to complete his goals. Wild plants and herbs quickly took up his interest, and this excursion led him to the clans. They fascinated him, they're ability to work in a community was new, but what truly intrigued him was the amount of test subjects there were.... And they're Medicine Cats. They held power within their very claw tips, and yet they used it to coddle and heal their sick clan mates. He envied their skills with herbs, and respected their dedication to their craft... And yet... He couldn't figure out why they wouldn't abuse such a power... They could silently kill everyone without a trace, and yet they remained loyal to their test subjects. It was so infuriating yet fascinating, that he couldn't help but long to meet one of them face to face, to perhaps learn their ways. And this is where is obsession began. He wanted to garner the attention of the Medicine folk by showing his own set of skills... Joining this group of simpletons would give him the resources to act up close and personal with his future subjects.
