appearance : Jaywing is large Maine Coon tomcat who was given his name for his long, wispy blue-ish gray tabby fur. He has white spectacle-like markings around his green-gray eyes. He is currently 23 moons old.

personality : Jaywing is a jovial cat, always joking about one thing or another. He rarely takes much of anything seriously, much to his sister's annoyance. While he would much rather be lazing about in the sun, Jay is a surprisingly avid bird hunter, though it isn't necessarily the prey he is after. You see, Jaywing collects feathers. His sister is convinced he is bird-brained, but his nest is full of colorful feathers that he has collected over the years. He gives these to those he cares for.

history : Jaywing and his sister Shadowstep were born at the edge of the moor to Dusty, a kittypet who ran away from her twolegs to save her kits from being sold. There were five kits born to Dusty, but, as the cold season sank its claws into the land, prey became scarce. As his siblings slowly starved, Jaywing and his sister did their best to provide for their family. Jay would lie in wait, teaming up with Shadowstep to bring down birds and rabbits whenever they could, using their fur and feathers to keep their nest warm. Unfortunately, they couldn't save their family. That bareleaf, Dusty and her other kits fell victim to starvation.

appearance : Shadowstep is a wispy black Maine Coon who is slightly smaller than her fluffball of a brother. Her eyes are hard and scrutinizing, nearly colorless. She, too, is 23 moons old.

personality : Where Jaywing is thankful for each day and recklessly races toward the future, Shadowstep lingers in the darkness of those cold, leaf-bare days that took her family from her. She feels as though she failed them and carries their deaths as though they were kills of her own. She prepares for the worst and sees no time for fun or games in her carefully planned days on the moor. She is a skilled hunter who uses her large size to her advantage. Shadowstep does not trust strangers, for where were they when her family needed them? She does not share unless you earned it and she gives no praise, only critique. The only thing that makes her ice-cold heart melt are kits. She is very maternal, though more strict than coddling. She knows how to collect the fur from most kills and build nests from the material.

history : Shadowstep's heart froze over that leaf-bare as her family slowly starved and froze despite every effort they made. She has spent every day since, vowing that she will protect her brother no matter what.

[ watch | tomcat | loner ]

appearance : Watch is a silver tabby with amber eyes. He is sleek with small, white tipped paws and a dark tail and ears. He is currently 34 moons old and always seems to smell of the sea.

personality : Watch has always been an observer. He watched his mother as she cared for her kits on a warf on a distant shore, staring at the sea longingly, waiting for her mate to return. He watched his littermates leave the nest and become warf cats of there own while he stayed and took care of their aging mother. He watched her face light up when an old sail boat at last pulled into dock. He watched her fade with a smile on her face and a purr in her chest as the large tom who claimed to be their father appeared like he had never left.

Watch stayed with the pair, distrusting of a cat who could leave his family with out a qualm. He had grown to hate his father over the years, but his mother continued to defend him. When at last the sail boat prepared to leave, Watch's mother told him to follow his father and see why he had to leave. He did as she asked and boarded the boat, together, the two cats traveled from pier to port for nearly a year. His hatred leeched away, Watch fell in love with the water and became a great fishercat, just like his father. And there he still would be, if not for the storm that capsized the sail boat.

Luck to be alive at all, Watch was washed up on the shores near the Sea Stones and it is there he has lived since, pacing the shore, waiting for his boat to take him away.
