"Because she's dead." The words were blunt and straight to the point. No beating around the bush. That only confuses kits. No, it was best to let him take it at once.

"W- what's dead?" Shadowkit asked, a little frantically. He hoped with all his heart that 'dead' didn't mean what he thought.

I'm very sorry to anyone who had a plot with me, but it's for the best. I have new interests, hobbies, and friends now. I will not be adopting out my characters, please just assume they died.

"I'm telling the truth when I say I don't know." Ravenshade bent over to huddle Shadowkit close, doing her best to comfort. She was glad none of the other queens had interfered. She wanted to be the one to help him.

Shadowkit started crying, pressing his face into Ravenshade's fur. As tears streamed down his face, the kit's fur puffed up and he stopped for a moment to catch his breath. "Mommy's dead.. mommy's d-" He couldn't bring himself to even think the words and started sobbing again, clinging to Ravenshade like his life depended on it. But right now, it certainly felt like it did.

She sat down and licked his fur gently, her own face wet with grief. She knew exactly how this felt.
Raven held onto the poor creature until he wanted to move, murmuring soft words to him.

She nodded gravely. "I'm sorry."
Ravenshade wished to the moon and back she could make him happy. Telling a kit his mother would never come back was harsh and cruel. Even for Ravenshade.

Shadowkit pressed himself into Ravenshade again. So it was true.. mommy was gone.. forever. He closed his eyes. "B- but.. you will never be dead, right?" He asked after a few moments of silence.
