“I’m going to feel your chest and breathing, Dusktail.” She meowed reaching forwards to listen closer to her breathing

“Hello Kittens!” She looked at the kits. Her mind popped back to Crabkit and Sleetkit with a small frown before she smiled at the two kittens. “What are we in for, hmm?”

"Alright." the elder wheezed, quickly because it hurt to swallow.

Dogkit stared at his paws. He was scared of that place but it was so fascinating. He felt like he wanted to go there again and meet Ashwing. He looked back up at Otterstone."Okay" he lied to the medicine cat. A wave of guilt flooded over him but he didn't let it show.

Foxpaw skidded to a halt and looked around frantically for Dogkit. "Where's Dogkit?!" she said searching for her best friend.

Dogkit looked up at Foxpaw. How did she know I got hurt? He looked at Otterstone, worried he would tell Foxpaw he had visited the Dark forest.

Otterstone put her ear by Dusktail's chest, listening to her raspy, watery breathing. That was bad. Her mind bounced back still to her last day with Dirtfur. His breathing had sounded the same way. She grimaced and took a step back. "Dusktail, I have bad news and worse news." She paused, taking a moment for the elder to steel herself, and for Otterstone to think of a good way to put this. "You have greencough." She meowed, quickly conitnuing. "And we don't have herbs to help you."

Otterstone looked up at Foxpaw, a disapproving look on her face. "Hello Foxpaw." She meowed. "Dogkit is with me. We're having a conversation on how to stay safe." She eyed the kit, the same disapproving look still on her face, before turning her eye to the apprentice. "I'm not sure why I have apprentices bursting into my den and being loud. I have patients that are sensitive to noise." She flicked an ear back at Owlflight, who snoozed quietly in one of the nests.

Bouncekit ran into the medicine cat den. He looked around at the place, filled with horror. The last time he had been here, Echobreeze had been dead. He wished that Vixenwhisper didn't come here, as far as he knew, cats came here to die. "Whats happening?" He asked to no one in particular. He wondered if it had to do with the yucky fish that he and Vixenwhisper had shared, but then he found all fish yucky. Just thinking about it made him want to throw up. Now his belly was sore! "Vixenwhisper, my belly hurts! He complianed."
