"Okay," Lionstar shrugged. He didn't really need the pep talk that came with her report. "He can be a warrior. Glad he passed your assessment. Where is he..? I believe Fawnsqueak has been looking for him, actually."

"I had planned to care for them in my own time." She promised. She had been about to ask if he happened to know where Thistlestep was when the other cat came in. She sat and patiently waited, in no big hurry to rush them.

Lightfeather waited outside of the den. She was ready to report about what happened at the border patrol, but also about her apprentice. She didn't want to teach Softpaw hunting all the time! In order for Softpaw to succeed in being a warrior, she might need a new mentor. Lionstar seemed busy right now, so she'll have to wait.

(Ahhh, I'm sorry if this makes no sense! I've never been at the Lionsden before, and I suspected it was the leader's den. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry! TTwTT)

"Try by the training island?" Lionstar offered. "It's all about training, after all-- but you can also just yell for him around camp, I'm sure he'll pop up."

At the scent of Lightfeather, he glanced over toward the entrance to his den. "Come in!"

Lightfeather slowly walked in, nervously. Ok. Just take a deep breath... in and out (I'm not sure if cats can do that). She finally began to speak. "Softpaw caught an adder sticking around... not to mention she thought it WAS a stick." She paused, then continued. "Well, if there's one snake, there could be more. We should probably be careful around the territory." As she said that, she held her breath, wondering how Lionstar would react.

Lionstar tipped his head to a side, looking at Lightfeather with confusion. "The snakes around here aren't dangerous, so I wouldn't stress too much over it. They're an easy source of food." She seemed to be making a mountain out of a mole hill, which was fine.. but.. not really his problem. "Was there anything else?"

[ there aren't adders in maine, all snakes in the state are p much non-venomous ]

"Well... um... there was obviously a lot of strange scents, but if you don't mind... can I tell you something..?" Lightfeather's heart was thudding like crazy. She gave her chest a few licks, hoping Lionstar didn't notice anything unusual about her.
