Firehawk hoped Pebblepaw would be able to do some of these! Having so much rolls might make it harder for him to roll..

Maybe they would need to work on timed meals..

"Alright, we'll try something pretty basic. It's not really a move, it's more of a small technique to make it harder for you to get grabbed. You just tuck your tail in."

To demonstrate, he brought his tail down close to his body-- arching it slightly to hide the tip near his stomach.

Something basic? Sounded easy enough! Pebblepaw listened politely as Firehawk explained the mov- er.. technique.. Well, it did seem very simple and though Firehawk looked silly as he demonstrated, pulling a small chuckle from the apprentice, he nodded in serious acknowledgement,

"Like this?" Pebblepaw crouched down slightly, allowing his tail to curl underneath his belly. He tilted his head to the side,

"What happens if they jump on your back though? Does the tail matter then?"

"Usually if you're tucking in your tail, it's because your opponent has been focused on ground attacks.. darting around you, trying to knock you off balance. It's ideal for WindClan cats who have to rely on speed over strength."

Firehawk straightened up. "It won't matter if a cat jumps on your back, but that's why you roll. It should crush your opponent and, potentially stun them!"

To demonstrate, Firehawk quickly collapsed toward the ground, using his feet to propel his body into a roll.

He sprang back up and shook the snow from his pelt. "You try!"

"Oohh.. ok.." Interesting. So, WindClan cats were more likely to be fast than strong.. and if someone jumped on his back the best bet is to roll! He'd have to remember that! Giving Firehawk a determined nod, Pebblepaw squared up. Shaking away any stray flakes, Pebblepaw inhaled deeply... held it... then exhaled immediately following up with a thud to the ground! Down like a beached whale! His roll had ended up more like a flop.

"Ow..." He huffed, sending a billow of cold smoke rising from his maw. The snow had softened the blow, but there was a lot more weight behind that than he expected. How the heck was his mentor so limber?! Firehawk was old! Giving the other an embarrassed smile, Pebblepaw rose to his paws,

"Lemme try again," Another quick inhale/exhale routine and Pebblepaw was off again, tucking his head down as he propelled himself forward with all his might! Semi-success! The apprentice had at least rolled onto his back. Staring up at the grey sky, Pebblepaw called to Firehawk,

"Was that any better?"

He got up as quickly as she let him go, and stood on his paws, following her with his eyes. He wouldn't lose sight of her. Though his other senses weres focused. He put all of his energy into following her with his eyes.

BumbleFrost continued to circle the tom her voice blunt as she cut off what he was saying, making sure he understood the meaning behind her training tactics, again this is how she thought it was best to teach them. Using the element of surprise. Being alert... Being unpredictable."Life isn't fair AsterPaw, its unpredictable, you won't know what's going to get thrown at you in a battle until you experience it... Now repeat to me, what is lesson one?". Her brows furrowed slightly as he responded now seeing him alert and following her with his eyes she spoke up."Being alert is important, distractions are dangerous and can get you or your Clanmates killed... Now that you see to be prepared...". She trailed off and finally came to a halt a few Paw lengths away from the tom, her blue eyes glinted somewhat as she sized AsterPaw up."We are going to work on your defensive skills today...first dodging".her voice was cool and collected as her sleek tail flicked slightly.'He's focused...good'. She thought this approvingly as she spoke once again, explaining."As much as offensive skills are good.. It would prove somewhat useless without having good defensive skills...today's training session will require you to focus and ignore all distractions...are you ready AsterPaw?". She asked this gave a tiny smile incase the young tom was getting nervous.

Firehawk had to softly chuckle at Pebblepaw's attempts, and he smiled at his apprentice. "That was better than your collapse.. but you need to do a full roll! You're about halfway there."

Sandwhisker lead her apprentice to their training territory before turning to face her, sitting and wrapping her tail around her paws, "What would you like to start with? Fishing? Fighting? Swimming? Or a lesson about clan customs? @Miss kitty cat

The sandy-orange she-cat nodded her head and turned to the river, moving towards it's current, "Once you get in the water, push hard with your paws and make sure to keep your head above the water and dont fight against the current, use it to help you." She climbed in to give an excellent example.
