ALGORCLAN
algor; sensation of coldness : chill.

- located in the chilly mountains of colorado, algorclan is isolated from other clans/groups. titled as the clan of the strong and witty, there seems to be something off. bad omens surround the clan and it's members, good news doesn't last long before bad luck strikes. past leaders and decisions made by them has lead the clan to be cursed by their ancestors in the afterlife, nova.
- common threats: venomous snakes, venomous spiders, coyotes, ticks, rushing rivers/waterfalls, birds of prey

- less dangerous/encountered: elk/moose/deer, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, mountain goats

- over time, the cats of algorclan have adapted to the cold weather and have developed thick, dense coats. along with this, their pads aren't as soft as a normal cats, giving them decent endurance from the ice and rocks.
- nova is the official religion of algorclan; nova is the afterlife, and it is not separated into 'bad' and 'good', all cats that have passed no matter their decisions in life are sent to nova if they believe in it. though, there is a decided 'council' of sorts which consist of the first leader of algorclan and it's neighboring clans. they have cursed algorclan.

main territory

ice glades

just past algorclan's camp and near the middle of the territory lies a flat glade, often covered in a thin layer of ice in the winter. surrounded by tall pines, a cat has to walk along a small trail that's been worn down by algorclan's ancestors. there's a small stream. common prey is mountain cottontails, small birds, and squirrels.

lake of spirits

a decent way's from algorclan's camp, there's a lake. cats are advised to not get too close for the simple fact the water is never steady and it's hard to swim against the currents. while fish can be found and hunted, the surrounding area is often used as a grave yard, so it's looked down upon to hunt. this is on a higher part of the mountains, so they believe it's closer to nova and makes it easier for their clanmates to travel to the afterlife. the lake can also be used to talk to ancestors.

shell ruins

on the very outskirts lies an abandoned twoleg dirt road, going up the mountain. there's a few twoleg cars there, taken over by the growth of new plants and herbs. hunting here is encouraged, as there's a lot of prey, and also to protect the amount of herbs that grows there. there is a risk of predators.

high cliffs

near algorclan's camp, up the rocky trails is a plateau. the only way down is the trail that leads up to it, as all the other sides are cliffs. a lone pine tree sits in the middle of it. little prey is found here, aside from the occasional rat snake if one dares to try and kill one. on one side of plains is a tall wall of rocks and there's a decent amount of holes in the cliff wall. usually, cobwebs and moss can be found.

snowfall ruins

outside of algorclan's camp, this resides as an emergency camp. it's a rocky, uneven area covered in snow most of the year and rather barren. there's a cave in a cliff wall with a series of tunnels leading to other, smaller caves. the only prey found here is the occasional bird. no herbs can be seen.

personality; everest is a peculiar cat, that much is certain. he keeps his opinions held tightly to his chest, walls blocking most cats out. despite his asocialism, he's quite the respectable warrior: hunting, patrolling and protecting algorclan's territory without ever needing to be asked. he's not a fan of being blatantly bossed around, and is a very opinionated young tom despite his quiet demeanor. he will not hesitate to speak out if he sees something as unjust or cruel. he has a do-no-harm take-no-crap mindset, and though he prefers to do his own thing, he has no qualms with voicing his opinion and fighting for his beliefs.
other; everest was quite the problem as an apprentice! extremely defiant, anarchistic and loud. he eventually mellowed out into something a bit more controlled and shaped into a rather good warrior of algorclan. he was bore to a clan-cat mother and a kitty-pet father. he decidedly does not believe in nova, though he doesn't go out of his way to say this or argue with anyone who does. he especially does not believe in the supposed 'curse' upon the clan, chocking the misfortune up to bad luck and negligence.

personality; Clovermoon is a timid but optimistic individual with a desire to help others and overly concerned with not messing things up for somebody else. Still, he tries to help out from the shadows and diverts attention away from himself when he can. That's because Clovermoon has, for an Algorclan cat, been uncharacteristically lucky in his life. While some find this a good omen, others posit that he's somehow making the curse worse for everybody else, and Clovermoon feels a sense of guilt for being better off than everyone else.
