Rosebriar had quickly hopped up from her grooming, ruffling a tuft of fur on her shoulder. She had to stop herself from glancing at it with agony. Did they have to leave so quickly? Fox!” she exclaimed, her nose wrinkling at the wretched smell. “We should report this to Twilightstar!”

"Shh!" Frozenleaf hissed at her. Then they got a view of the fox. It was a baby. It smelled like milk, but stale. That wasn't good. That means it's mother proably left it, and now its hungry. Frozenleaf flicked their tail gesturing for the partrol to follow. They stalked the fox cub, and pounced, alnding on its back, swiftly killing it. "We need to scout aroud, and find its mother. It may be in Thunderclan territory though, so make sure you keep in mind the borders". Frozenleaf warned.

Snowberry flinched as Frozenleaf killed the baby fox. She felt her fur start to rise in nervousness; she had never encountered a fox before, and she wasn't exactly looking forward to meeting this baby fox's mom. "Do we have any idea where it went?" She asked.

"no, but the milk scent trail leads into Thunderclan territory, but that does not mean it's not our problem. It could come back looking for her baby any time. We will need to alert Twilightstar." Said Frozenleaf. "While we're here though, lets hunt a bit". They said.

Rosebriar watched as Frozenleaf killed the fox cub, instantly relaxing. Who cared if it was just a kit? It was a fox, the enemy of cats. Looking at the two cats, she meowed, “Yes, but the mother is probably on ThunderClan’s territory. Not our problem. We’ll hunt and report back to Twilightstar.” She glanced at Frozenleaf, hoping that the patrol leader would say yes.

Snowberry nodded in agreement. "If the fox is on ThunderClan territory, it's their problem, not ours. It only becomes our problem if it comes to our territory." She said, staring at Frozenleaf. Sure, she felt bad for the ThunderClan cats, if it is on ThunderClan territory that is, she's heard stories about how dangerous foxes can be, but it wasn't for WindClan to deal with.

"Im the one leading, right?' Snapped frozenleaf. These young cats had no experience. "The fox is still our problem because it's most likley to come into our territory again. We will alert Twilightstar, and ask her to double patrols on this border". Frozenleaf growled.

Snowberry sighed. She didn't like the way Frozenleaf snapped at her and Rosebriar, but Twilightstar chose them to lead the patrol for a reason, right?

"Fine, but I still don't really think it's necessary." She said, looking back and forth between the two cats.

Rosebriar looked at the arguing warriors, snorting. They were so immature. “We should let ThunderClan deal with the fox and report it to Twilightstar. That’s my suggestion, anyway.” That was the smarter option, surely.
