Willowpaw acknowledged her question with a nod as she was already smelling the RiverClan air. She could easily distinguish ShadowClan and RiverClan as she had spent a moon or two with them during the Flood. She had always hated the fish, but she had to eat. "RiverClan has a fishy smell while ShadowClan has a more earthy, pine tree smell," she responded as-a-matter-of-factly. Willowpaw stared at the invisible line, trying to imagine it. She had to know exactly where the border was in the future, or she would likely stir up drama in the Clans. Willowpaw shuddered at the thought. She wanted to stand out, but not like that. Trying to get back on track, Willowpaw tried to imagine the scents of the other Clans. She was sure she wouldn't have to worry about SkyClan's. She knew they were far from the Clans. ThunderClan... she could imagine that they too had an earthy smell. She heard the cats hunt in the undergrowth. Ugh. Imagine having burrs in your pelt every day. Then there was WindClan. Perhaps they would smell like.. smell like.. Willowpaw frowned. She couldn't think of a smell! Oh well, she thought. I'm sure I'll know it when I smell it. Willowpaw looked back at her mentor, awaiting further instruction.
Nightshade listened to Willowpaw quietly, not seeming bothered by the strong scent of fish and water like most cats would be. "Very good." She said simply, not saying anything else as she looked across the border. "The borders shift slightly all the time. There isn't a line to show where the divide is; once, we would be standing on RiverClan soil." She said, her voice light and airy, unbothered and uncaring. "Twelve moons from now the border could be right underneath or paws, or down a few tail-lengths away." She looked down at Willowpaw seriously. "Our sense of smell is what allows for us to distinguish the border from the ground. Imagining a line wouldn't help." She advised, before pushing away from the border and heading towards the trail again. "We're heading for the ThunderClan and WindClan borders now." She said, pressing her black paws neatly to the ground and waiting for the younger feline to catch up before heading off in the direction of WindClan. The treeline began to thin, and soon the rolling hills and enchanting plains of WindClan came into view. However, Nightshade stopped just short of where the trees stopped. "This will be a little harder for you, but you can do it." She stated, not really sounding encouraging or discouraging. Her fur fluffed up slightly as the breeze blew through the trees and into her face, the smell of sagebrush and dried grass strong and pleasant.

It had been far too long since the elder queen had taken a walk, stretched her legs and inhaled the fresh forest air. Too much had been happening; between Shadowclan finally settling back down since flood, the battle at seastones, the cut she had managed to get across her flank. Starclan, how she didn't leave the den moons because of that. Thankfully it was healing without any sign of infection and Cedartuft took it upon herself to take a walk by herself to clear her mind. The forest was alive with many smells. Prey, clanmates, plant life. Inhaling once more, she slowly lowered herself onto her hind legs until her bottom was flat against the dirt. Quiet. How she missed it. It wasn't like she disliked being a queen, no no, in fact it was her only goal in life! Just... it was nice to sometimes get away from squeals of play and attention.

Her claws extended into the hard leaf-bare earth, scratching away dirt and leaf debris as a cold breeze shook her as hard as the trees around her. Thankfully her coat was thick and warm, preventing the her bones from chilling. Sniffing wildly as the breeze rolled in, Cedartuft couldn't help but purr softly as the scent of her kits rolled with the breeze. They must be out hunting or patrolling! Perhaps they would come to her? She was almost certain that they knew her scent even better than she knew theirs.
There was no mistake that the silver bullet smelled that familiar comfort of his mother...within the territory. The question was; why was she in the territory? Cedartuft usually resided in the den, she seldom carried herself around. Honeythistle felt his hackles rise, was she okay? Cedartuft was old, but she wasn't senile. Maybe, she just needed a little exercise. Honeythistle knew that one of his weakest points was his mother. Every boy loved their mother; they protected them with all their heart. Honeythistle was no different, and the scent of his mother couldn't be more perfect on time as he took advantage of the situation by introducing Cloudstrike as one of his newest mates. Apart of Honeythistle figured his mother didn't find his lifestyle...appropriate. But, at least his mother didn't ridicule him for his sins. At least, she still loved him as one of her own instead of making him feel that he caused a sacred volcano to erupt in this family of valued beliefs. "Follow me, dove." He guided, gently, making sure to keep himself in front of Cloudstrike as he followed the humble, loving scent of his milkgiver. In the distance, he could make out her form. Watch as her fur clung to her bones, but nonetheless she was still absolutely beautiful in the silver tom's eyes. When he seen his mother, he briskly trotted towards her, using his nose to sniff around her pelt before lovingly nuzzling her like he would do when he was a small kit. "Hello, momma." He nosed her cheek, flicking his tail. "How are you doing? Are you alright? Is something wrong?" Before introductions were made, and knowing Cloudstrike was next to him, Honeythistle had to dutifully make sure that his mother was in an upstanding state of health. That she wasn't in any stressful state (especially with the recent battle that happened).

@Beau
Cloudstrike still had no idea where they were going and only caught a faint smell of cat. Or rather, a strong smell of cat but only a vague realization of its origin. She certainly didn’t know whose scent it was. The molly followed behind Honeythistle dutifully and silently, letting him lead her to whoever they were going to meet. He spoke to her, using his usual nickname for her. Hearing the name ‘dove’ made her heart soar and she was glad to see that Honeythistle wasn’t angry anymore. Thus, her mood brightened and she smiled at each tree and plant as they passed. Looking around curiously, Cloudstrike found her thoughts running wildly through her head but none of them were about asking Honeythistle where they were headed. If she had realized, she’d most likely have been proud of herself. For the moment, though, Cloudstrike simply reveled in the brevity of the quiet forest and her own light mind. Soon, Honeythistle started trotting. Cloudstrike, lost in thought, didn’t notice at first and lagged behind, but she soon noticed his distance ahead and sped up to reach him. Her own trot was more graceful, with small and light steps. An elderly she-cat stood before them and Honeythistle referred to her as “momma” before affectionately nuzzling her. His mother was the cat they were to meet? That must have been a good sign. Honeythistle cared very deeply for his mother. Surely introducing Cloudstrike to her was a big deal. Did that mean he meant to ask her to be his mate soon? Excitement tingled in Cloudstrike’s paws as she poked her head out from behind Honeythistle, where she was standing at the moment, and gave his mother a timid smile.

Rather than burying her face deep into the cold snow, Bunny turned her face so that it was facing upwards. She lifted her head as high as she could, though that was only a centimetre or two off the ground. She turned her head as best she could to look at her surroundings. She couldn't see anything, but her ears flattened as she managed to hear something. Scuffling noises and voices. Her eyes grew wide with fear. What if it was a predator? What if there were two predators? "Mama...." she whimpered quietly, wishing more than anything for her mother. She let out another weak cry as a wave of hunger came again and stabbed her in the stomach. She turned her head back again to face the snow and she licked at it, trying to melt it with her tongue and get as much water as possible. But even that was hard, as her tongue was getting as cold as the rest of her with the longer she stuck it out. She wanted to get up and find something to eat, but she didn't know what she had to find. She was too young to eat prey and find food for herself. It wasn't like she could get up though, she was too weak to stand. If she didn't find food and warmth soon, she might die.

He was trying to find any pawprints in the ground, and any cats up in the trees. That didn’t exactly go as planned however, as his neck was sore before even several heartbeats had passed. Everything looked like a kitten, two pine needles in the snow looked like a kit’s eyes. He told himself he was beginning to become too paranoid, but when he heard Tallwhisker, he whirled around in the other tom’s direction. “What I saw it?” he asked, cold rippling through his body for a moment, before he started to move again, this time torwards Tallwhisker.

@Empress Of Evil

Tallwhisker swallowed the panic that was gradually rising in his throat, he could see how goldenstar was looking up into the trees instead of down. His tail curled slightly as the paranoia started to take over. It meant goldenstar was slightly more concerned about being attacked, and seriously who would be? This could be a decoy, a small inocent meow to drive them in and than suddenly. BLAM!! Four rouges on top of your head. Which was most likely not going to happen but it was always a looming thought in the back of his mind. Feeling more at ease wit goldnestar flanking his side he went back to searching, but rather than up or down he focused on the bushes. Just in case. Searching for threats and clearing the area could be more important. For us at least. as the Tom scanned the area he suddnely heard another more desperate meow, one you wouldn't hear in the nursery but one you would hear during a mass evacuation of the whole clan. When everyone was screaming and yelling. One you would hear at desperate times. It sent a wave of shock throguh his system, he had second guessed ever hearing it but now he was certain. He picked up his lace and turned a sharp corner. Unaware of the ice the toms left leg gave out and he fell face flat into the snow. Mousedung! he sneezed away the snow and for a moment didn't want to really get up. But when he opened his eyes he was face to face with a a kitten. Looking starved, small, inocent. Tallehisker blinked a few times and stared the kit down. "G- goldenstar...." he meowed under his breath.

Goldenstar had glanced down long enough to see Tallwhisker seem to get nervous. He couldn’t blame the other tom, Goldenstar was worried himself. He took a small breath, trying to calm himself down. He was still trying to figure out where the mew came from. He was trying not to tremble, though with the cold that was seeping into his pelt, it was kind of hard. A...kit..? Okay, he hadn’t been expecting that to be honest. “Okay,” he muttered, his mind trying to figure out what to do in this situation. “Should we try to get them back to camp?” he asked, unsure of what to do with the kit, though he knew he wasn’t going to let them freeze to death. Getting down to eye level with Tallwhisker, trying to see the entire kit in the snow.

when you barely got sleep, it was easy to manipulate things with your mind. shadows could turn nto towers monsters, the crunching of leaves could turn into foots steps, a breeze could feel like a tap on the shoulder. they felt tired and heavy, having not gotten good sleep within the last few days. their eyes seemed to be scanning every where infront of them, though they kept their nervousness in check as best as they could. this wasnt a moment about them, it was about marshfur.

¨its nice weather. its nice to get out,¨ they mewed, but they couldnt relate. they hadnt been able to leave camp without an escort in moons, but that wasnt the point. the point was they didnt want it to make it seem obvious what they were doing, trying to get her to talk. they wanted her to talk first, to initiate, seeing as trying to poking it out of her wasnt going to do well out of both of their stubbornness. they would let her take the subtle lead of conversation, starting out with small talk of course, gradually, though. they wanted her to open up to them on her own.
The bengal narrowed her eyes, staring suspiciously at the back of Daydream's head, "Of course," She replied plainly, though the words had needed no response. Really, Marshfur didn't believe them. How could she? The paranoia, anxiety, everything was nipping at her ankles, telling her to turn around and run, sprint back to the camp, back to the cage. The beast was left in the camp, and that was probably the only reason why Marshfur allowed herself to be outside. A break from the beast. It helped. Still, the void in her stomach grew with every step she took, each one feeling more and more real than the last, a growing weight began to press on her shoulders. She could breathe again, without having to ask permission. Was this what feeling real again felt like? Why was it only beginning to feel like this now? Even out here, alone, she'd never felt like this. She felt like one of the twoleg machines, cold and surreal. But she... she felt... warmth. Yes, it was beginning to bloom in her chest like pins and needles.

It only took a moment for fear to strike her heart in a sudden jolt, forcing her to lose the life that had been building in her pawsteps. She lagged behind some more, more than she had been. She put her eyes in front of her, not really looking at anything in particular, just following the soft padding of Daydream's steps.

"Why did you save me." She said abruptly, more of a statement than a question, as she stopped and turned her again blank gaze to the medicine cat.

her tone seemed to hold no emotion in it, until the question was brought up. it was abrupt, daydream noticed, possibly a sense of urgency to it.they kept silent for a moment, slowing their steps so she could walk next to them, instead of behind them. they could've felt her gaze stare right through the back of their head. they wanted eye contact, they wanted something to read. they kept their amber gaze forward, before speaking,¨because you deserved to be saved.¨ they mewed. it wasnt because that they were a medicine cat that it was their duty.they were to heal with herbs, not physical force. daydream didnt have to, but they did, they made the choice to go back down into the flood despite being safe at the very top of the hill inorder to save another life. ¨i didnt need t know you. you couldve been a killer, or the worst being. but you deserved being saved, just as the any of us.¨ with this statement, they took a glance over at her, wanting to give the emphasis that they truly meant what they were saying. after they had saved her, they had almost lost their life. and because of that, they were left with both emotional and physical scars. but if you asked them over and over, they would tell you that they would do it over and over again if it meant that it was one more life they couldve saved. any life was above theirs.

@Empress Of Evil
If she had enough energy, Bunny would’ve shrieked in terror at the sight of two grown toms staring at her. But when she opened her voice to let out a squeak of alarm, nothing came out. As she trembled, the she-cat shut her eyes tightly, as if though that would suddenly make the toms disappear. But when she opened her eyes again, they were still there. She wanted to ask them to not her, but she had pretty much lost her ability to speak. Buried in the snow, Bunny moved her limbs as much as she could and tried to push herself backwards. It was useless though, as over time, the snow had piled on top of most of her, leaving just her upper body free from the snow. Fear washed over her and she flattened her ears against her head again. “Please….” she finally managed to whimper out. Her throat stopped her from letting any other words out. ‘Please’ didn’t make much sense on its own. Did she mean ‘please help me’ or ‘please go away and don’t hurt me’? Even she wasn’t sure anymore. She was too cold to function and even understand what she meant.

All she had wanted was for her apprentice to learn something. But StarDlqn forbid that happened! She'd possibly gone through every mood she knew - she'd tried angry, she'd tried serious, she'd tried encouraging, she'd tried happy, and she'd even tried sad! Apparently, the only mood that was effective in Vixenpaw's book was 'submissive'.
Well, that wasn't happening to this she-cat! She stood her ground, sweeping the dusty floor beneath her with her silver tail, letting all of her anger that she'd collected over the training session poor out.
"You think you know everything!" She yelled furiously, spittle flying. "You think you're so smart! Well, newsflash, little apprentice, you don't. At the rate you're going, you won't know how to beat a kit by the end of leaf-bare! Suck it up, lose the attitude, focus, and deal with the fact that you actually have to listen for once in your life!"

@Empress Of Evil @.:Blue Wishes:.

Tallwhisker simply stared at it, a growing silence filling the air and crushing him mentally. When finally he snapped out of his shock and grabbed the kit up by her scruff, it's scruff? His scruff? he couldn't really tell at this point because two thirds of the kit was buried beneath the snow. At first the kitten didn't come free and he was required to gently tug at the kitten to remove it from the icy hole before he stumbled around for a moment unsure of what to do. Mumbling around the kits fur "t-try to find its mom!" he meowed. Everything looked and felt so real to him. It hurt him mentally to think someone would do his to such an inocent kitten. It felt like his own kits, like his own kits life was in his paws. He had been denied the ability to visit his own kits because his mate had turned out to be using him. He had spoken to goldenstar about it and this walk was trying to get his mind off it, which finding a stray kitten which so closely resembled his own kin made his panic increase. So instinctively the Tom sat down and laid on his back still clutching the kitten, than he gently set the kitten down on his belly where his stomach fur was the thickest and warmest. The shock of how cold the kittens small paws made him gasp and flinch but he continued to try and warm the kitten up by curling into himself with his belly facing the sky and his paws on either side of the kit barring it from falling off. Now that he could see clearly the kitten was female, it had been outside for a long time now he had assumed, To allow this much snow fall to basically bury her. By looking at her face he could tell she was terrified which hurt his heart, so using what he knew about kittens he tried to soothe her. "Shhh, your okay now little kitten, there's nothing to worry about, we are here to help you" he meowed softly, his voice dropping a few octaves and becoming more gentle.
