He thought back to his first gathering, when he was half the size he was now. His eyes had been as big as the moon that night, taking in all the different smells and sights.
"If you were chosen, would this be your first gathering?" He asked, blinking away his fond memories.

Fawnkit was about to retaliate, but he had a question. "Can a Clan have two leaders?" He and Reedkit could both be leaders! Well, if that was the case. Otherwise, he'd be leader, and Reedkit would be his deputy! @Kyrieknight

"No," Reedkit answered, then he smiled. "But the deputy would become leader after them, so that would still make sense!... Maybe?" He was sure that, if he ever became leader, he would choose Fawnkit as his deputy!

" in general, no. as a warrior, I believe the answer would be yes," she mewed. Flamedrop had wanted to go as a warrior for a while now. she tiled her head to one side, thinking...

The black and white tom stifled a purr of amusement at Flamedrop. The she-cat had obviously zoned out, most likely also thinking about her first gathering.

For a moment he simply sat with her, enjoying the she-cats quiet company. His white paws were now tucked comfortably underneath him, his yellow eyes gazing up at the slowly moving clouds. Bumblestep was a simple cat, enjoying the more peaceful aspects of life. This was what clan life was all about. Living together with his clanmates, sharing stories and prey together.

After a moment, he touch his tail to Flamedrop's shoulder, hoping to get her far away gaze to focus back on him. "What are you thinking about?" He asked quietly.

"what? oh. I was just thinking about last gathering. and well, my first one. and my next one and- well, I just think about a lot of things. um.. yeah." she blushed slightly, then asked, " what was your first gathering like?"
she knew how they all were of course. the mounting tension and excitement, being overwhelmed by all the noises, the deciding to stay with your mentor until you could pluck up enough courage to talk to someone. she was just curios whether or not this cat had the same kind of first gathering.

This time, Bumblestep couldn't help the purr that escaped him. He understood, he got lost in his own thoughts too sometimes.
Flamedrop certainly wasn't like a lot of his other clan mates. With most other Riverclan cats, he felt like he had to walk on eggshells. He didn't like fighting, which caused tension with the more aggressive members of the clan. He wasn't good at hunting, thanks to his big bumbling paws, which isolated him from those who preferred to kill prey. With Flamedrop, she seemed... to not care about that. For the first time that day the black and white tom felt... happy.

Realizing she was still waiting for him to answer her question, he cleared his throat. "My first gathering was... embarrassing. I was so focused on making a good impression on the other clans that I completely forgot to talk to anyone! My mentor gave me more than a few good cuffs behind the ear when we returned home. Apparently some Thunderclan apprentice thought I was deaf!" He chuckled, ducking his head. "I hope one day I can encourge an apprentice of my own to just live life in the present, you know?"

He shook his head. "No, I suppose when Sootstar sees it fit, I will get one though." Finally sitting back up, allowed himself a quick stretch. While he had been talking to Flamedrop, he had allowed himself to relax. If he didn't get up now, hes not sure he would ever want to again.
Not wanting to be a waste to the clan, he decided to do something useful. "Would you want to come hunting with me? All I've done today is lounge about." He chuckled. "I'm thinking of catching some fish as Cattail pond."

um, no thank you. I'll just, I'm just go to the warriors den," she mewed. she shrugged, it was nothing personal. Flamedrop had just felt her eyes begin to droop and decided she would rather take a nap then go hunting.
"maybe another time," she added, so he wouldn't feel hurt. then she started toward the apprentice's den.
