Yellowpaw gave a nod realizing that when she got older (as in 40 moons or however old Surge id) she'd be out of breathe easily. She tried to hide her shock and focused in looking for herbs.

"Good catch!" Onyxwhisper purred as she trotted over to her new friend. "I think we can only carry a rabbit each, did you want to head back to camp or did you want to hang out and come back later for the rabbits?" She asked. She didn't mind either way, but if Bluetalon had more she wanted to talk about then she wanted to gove her the chance to.

Bluetalon let out a yawn as she turned over to the sun. Her eyes watching as it slowly began to get lower. "We should head back to camp." She sighed, looking at the rabbit in her paws. "I-I..." She stuttered, ears flattening. "I'll see you soon!" She mewed, picking up the rabbit.

She was getting irritated with him for not easily falling for her tricks, but she refused to let this emotion show through. Of course, she enjoyed challenges, but a certain ginger tomcat she was currently trying to play her games with was already challenge enough. She had been hoping for an easy ride this time, but it seems that that won't be happening.

She was drawn from her thoughts when she decided she'd had enough thinking about how frustrated she was. Fawnskip silently told herself she was supposed to be having fun. She watched him through kind eyes as he continued to apologize, smiling in embarrassment at some statements or nodding in understanding. She inhaled heavily when he finished as if she had just been told a lot that needed to be taken in. Then Fawnskip smiled, laughing softly in an attempt to lighten the air - this was her sign of forgiveness.

Unlike Obsidiansky, Fawnskip was as comfortable as could be. She'd learned to let herself act like she was acting like herself. Wow! If that's not complicated, then what is? And then she felt her defensive walls grow even higher. Fawnskip had had an average kithood which she was grateful for, but for some reason, her adolescence moons were where everything went downhill. She learned she was interested in tomcats, and toms were interested in her. Being a game-loving feline who adored challenges, she refused to go about this the easy way. She just had to learn how to make love into a game. So she did. She experimented with toms, befriending them and discovering what they wanted in a mate. She was quick to learn that most toms adored her appearance, and so she used it to her advantage. She'd use her beauty to keep their attention while she educated herself on them. By the time she was an older apprentice, she was ready to break someone's heart.

She found some immature toms who easily fell for her tricks, and she left them in the dust like she planned. Fawnskip's success gave her confidence which just fueled her outer and inner beauty. Since then, she's been breaking hearts and destroying relationships. Of course, she wouldn't tell Obsidiansky that. Fawnskip sheepishly glanced at him, shaking her head nervously. ``Don't laugh or tattle on me, okay?`` She took a moment to quickly brainstorm a story, but it didn't take her long to think of one seeing that she's lying's best friend. She acted like she was preparing to tell her story, like she was reluctant to share. Maybe if I told him a story - er, my backstory - he'll feel comfortable to tell me something of his own past?

Finally, with a final cautious glance at Obsidiansky, she started, ``When I was an apprentice, I had a crush on a flirty tom from another Clan. He led me to believe he liked me too, but this one Gathering, I found him chatting up some other she-cat.`` Fawnskip avoided Obsidiansky's gaze, looking down at her paws as if to hide tears or even an angry expression. She made herself the victim, in an attempt to gain his understanding and compassion. ``I- I guess I got angry at the entire tomcat population, because I swore against them that day, that I'd never fall in love. I'm ashamed to say this, but I flirted. I know it doesn't make sense. If I didn't want crushes or to fall in love, why did I flirt? I flirted to hide my pain. I guess I thought that I could show the tom that broke my heart that he hadn't hurt me, that I'd moved on. As I grew up, though, I learned not every tomcat was out to hurt me, and I stopped my bitter-flirting, I guess you could call it. Over my moons of flirting, though, I learned you could make an impression on someone by saying a couple charming things. I want someone to love me, to make me feel important and worthy. I- I thought that if I made my mark on a tom, maybe he'd take an interest in me?``

After a few moments of staring at the ground below her, raised her head to gaze at him, smiling painfully. Fawnskip laughed, ``I was a fool, wasn't I?`` She shook her head at herself in disbelief, returning her gaze to her shuffling paws. When her sad laughter faded away, she meowed softly, apologetically, ``I didn't mean to tell you my entire life's story. I'm sorry to put that all on you. I didn't mean to - I just couldn't stop rambling once I started going.``
The backstory that Fawnskip told him surprised Obsidiansky. And, like a fool, he believed every word that she told him. Of course he was still guarding himself. Despite her attempts to get him to be more open about his feelings, to get him to fall for her, right now he was guarded. Even though the dark tom did quite like Fawnskip. She was different from the other cats who were chasing him. She was so open and free, and it was different from the messing around and sidestepping that he was used to. That kind of confidence was intriguing him, and he couldn't have known he was headed for heartbreak. "You weren't a fool," He answered after a moment. It was easy to get tricked by a few twisted words!

That was why he was careful when it came to love, because anyone could be lying. He'd been tricked before. He wouldn't be tricked again. No one knew this, and Obsidiansky would never tell anyone. Not even his closest, best friends knew his deep and dark secret. The secret of his heartbreak. The secret of the cat who had betrayed him. It was her secret too, and he would not share it. Gone though she might be, Obsidiansky held himself up to keeping his promises. She might not have, but the tom would never be like her. At the time, they had been new warriors... known each other through apprenticehood... and Wildfire had been her name. He missed her sometimes, but Obsidiansky knew that it was for the best now. She had been a liar and, she had tricked him. Tricked him into thinking what he had believed for so long and what she had smashed to the ground later on - that they could be together. And ever since then he had been careful with his heart. While that had taken him a while to get over, Obsidiansky was pretty sure he was almost ready to start a new romance. To begin again, to forget what Wildfire had done to him and the lies she had told him, and when he was ready? He would find someone that he could see himself with in the future.

Whether that be Sagewhisker, Canineheart, or even his new friend - his new crush - Fawnskip. It was unlikely; but perfectly possible. "You were young, and had a crush. He broke your heart - which is the easiest thing to break and the hardest to mend." He said after a while. At least he was no longer making a fool of himself. He was actually doing pretty good at this point, trying to be nice to Fawnskip and feeling more and more like he could open up and trust her. "So, uh... do you have any other questions?" He asked, looking up at the she cat. Right now he just wanted to get his thoughts off of Wildfire, and love, and onto another topic. Chances were she would ask him something about that. If she had romantic interest, or intentions with him, that was. Right now, the tom was desperately hoping that she didn't.

He wouldn't be able to resist her seemingly natural charm if she continued to pressure him. Right now, he was in one of the weakest - the darkest - points in his life. The only time things had been worse was when Wildfire had betrayed him, lied to him, tricked him - when he had found out, actually. That had been the lowest point of his life and somehow, somehow he had overcome it. But that darkness from that time would still come back. Once you felt flickers of darkness... it was hard to stamp them out completely. And Obsidiansky still had dangerous thoughts sometimes. Scary thoughts, thoughts that he wished he could stamp out.

Fawnskip was making him nervous right now. If she tried to find out about his past, and he decided that he couldn't keep it from her, there was a chance he could end up very badly hurt. Guard yourself. Mind closed, ears open. It was something he had lived by for the past... almost fifteen, maybe more like almost seventeen moons now. Mind closed; ears open. Basically refusing to show any vulnerability (until he knew them well) and listen to what they had to say. In an attempt to get to know them, that was. And yet, he would answer questions. Questions that he found harmless enough... or if he didn't have the willpower to resist answering them.

An apprentice. For real? To be honest, Addaxclaw didn't think of himself as exactly the 'mentor type.' He wasn't very patient, and he was new in WindClan. Fairly new, anyways. He'd joined the Clan around the time that the old deputy, Shrikecall, had died. Of course he hadn't been as upset as some, but he'd been pretty confused at the sudden change. Dark eyes scanned the clearing for his new apprentice. It was Swiftpaw, wasn't it? Or supposed to be? Addaxclaw wasn't sure if he could even remember this apprentice's name, let alone figure out a way to train him. What was he doing? He was new to the Clans himself, and was surprised that he was an actual warrior, and currently trying his best to fit in to the Clan. He had a couple of friends, but it was still difficult for him to really belong here. Maybe this apprentice was a hidden answer to his prayers. When he was younger, it had always been easier to be new if you had something everyone else had. A similar experience, or similar interests... and here, he would now have an apprentice. That was something a lot of the other warriors had. Maybe he could talk about training tactics with them? Addaxclaw was so nervous he was pretty close to feeling sick. He wasn't even sure if he could remember what his new apprentice looked like, let alone talk to him at all! And yet here he was, looking as confident as ever, his ears pricked up and his tail curled around his paws in an 'I've got this' manner. If only some of that constant confidence would make it's way to his mind and soothe his currently troubled thoughts, things would be just great.

@Ashstripe (Sorry! Next time can you bump me?)
Leafshadow leaped out and around the grass in search of prey. The scent was powerful. The grass swayed in the wind and she jumped around. "C'mon Sunshine!" She laughed.

Not far enough, it seemed. It was never enough. The tension held in the calico’s pelt told him more than the words he spoke-- Lark was reaching the end of his rope, and Cuckoosnarl would be damned if he didn’t ensure he was the one who brought him crawling back. “Can you prove to me you didn’t do any of what I said, then, boy? You think you can take me for a fool? Don’t think your snivelling will get you anywhere. I’ve known how to deal with you long enough.”

His thin tail lashed, the imposing shape of him cutting against the sunset. Baring his teeth, he took another step towards the smaller tom. “Go on, then,” he purred, words oozing like blood from a wound. “Cry wolf. Tell everyone what I did to you, what I’ve been doing to you. How I’ve almost killed you so many times and made you feel like you’re worth nothing. You know why I’m asking you nicely, Larkfall, hm?” Leering closer to the smaller feline, Cuckoosnarl smiled, his expression misleading as anything. “Because I know you’ll never do it. You’ll never react. You’ll never respond. Because you love it; you love me. You love everything I do to you, for all you do to convince everyone that you don’t.” Every sentence was tripping over the other, becoming quicker but landing the exact blows he meant them to. Maybe he forgot to veil the poison with honey this time, but whatever prompted the tirade hadn’t passed. In a terrible voice, he continued, “Why don’t you admit it? That you love me-- and love this?”

He struck.
he stared at him. for once, he didnt see the cuckoo he fell in love with. he didnt see the handsome tom that made him breathless, he didnt see the warrior that he thought was so strong and protective. he someone manipulative. he saw a cat who had exhausted him, had made him dull, to wash away his personality completely for his own gain. why? why had cuckoo wanted to control every vein in his body? hearing his words--him acknowledge him attempting to kill lark, only made his blood run cold. his cuckoosnarl? his baby? had tried to kill him? it was intended? larkfall was alot of things. he was gullible, easy to believe cuckoos lies. he was eager to please and had a low self esteem, hungry for any piece of affection that he would grant him. but he was not dumb. while he was easily blinded, he was not stupid, and knowledge was the one thing cuckoo couldnt take away from him. seeing him step forward he stood up more. in reality, he was actually alot taller then cuckoo, forced to walk low to the ground in submission for countless seasons. he stood up. white splotched fur rose to be twice his size, tail nervously flickers from side to side. hearing that familiar purr, that familiar sneer of words, he crumbled. he was nothing without cuckoo. he was not a living being, without him he was worth less then a piece of prey. used for a certain purpose. but he felt a certain amount of bravery, and seeing cuckoo take a step closer only fueled that. he raised a paw. he struck across his cheek.
¨get away from me!¨
he wanted a reaction.hed get one.

It was like he couldn't go anywhere without getting a bunch of that drama. But he loved his friends, and he would never want to get rid of them or change them - just their situations, perhaps. If there was a way to go back in time and make it clear that he WASN'T going to have feelings right away for any of them, or somehow trick them into having feelings for someone else, he would do that too... because it was a problem for the tom. Yes, she cats could be complicated. And toms could as well. He was more complicated then he cared to admit, as was his past, and he was careful not to talk about it. Lies were surrounding it, and as much as Obsidiansky hated lying, he was actually good at it. For someone who had the virtue of honesty... sometimes the dark tom didn't act much like he did. "Hm? Oh, I'm doing good," He mewed with another bright smile. There was something off about Larkfall - except Obsidiansky couldn't pinpoint it. There was just something that felt... well... wrong.
¨t-thats good! its..nice to see good moods after the stress with t-thunderclan.¨ he attempted at conversation. though that was honestly rather hard when half of his focus was on the den entrance, for any moment that cuckoosnarl would walk in to see him talking to obsidiansky. it wasnt the toms fault, and he probably thought he was acting weird, but larkfall couldnt be too conscious or careful. if..his mate saw him like this..he shivered at the thought. itd most likely end up with him being forcefully dragged intp windclan terrtory and given a ¨punishment¨. cuckoosnarl always said they were out of love, that they were meant to teach him, make him learn, that he was only jelous and had to be careful around other toms because they could take away lark from him so easily, and he didnt want that. it made larkfall feel wanted for a moment, but there was always that space in the back of his mind where he knew that wasnt true. he doesnt love me.

"Do you know who I am?" he inquired, raising a brow towards the fiery kit. "Because I know who your mother is, and your father, and you!" he gave her a small smile before he realized how creepy he may have sounded. That was when a small frown crossed his face and his stumbling voice tried to save himself. "I'm sorry, I meant only because we're a lot closer than you think we are! I'm sure you'd be shocked," he spoke quickly. It was no use, the damage was done and it was up to Flarekit. Whether she caught to creep or not. Either way, it was sure to be amusing.

Flarekit looked up at Blazingstar, whiskers twitching. The she-kit wasn't much of a troublemaker at times, having to deal with her siblings shenanigans almost all the time. But, sometimes she was always thinking about some mischief, but really only from time to time, but.. she usually thought about sneaking out of camp, not some pranks, nothing to major in her opinion. But she was quite the troublemaker, so she didn't mind to do small little pranks from time to time. "Oh, mama told me I had an older brother who was leader.., which is pretty cool!" She said, with a peppy-like tone in her voice. She didn't comment on the creepiness in his tone, nor wanted to. It was best to leave some things alone. And that was one of the things. And he appeared to be an important cat in the clan. And besides, it didn't really matter much. Well, to Flarekit. Her fluffy light ginger tabby coat fluffed up slightly.

Pecking it up he ran up to Hawkfeather, holding it proudly. His green eyes shining with joy. He dropped it. "I caught it!" He purred. His gray tail swishing behind him.
The tan-furred warrior made sure to always keep his apprentice in his view-range, not wanting to lose them or assist the youth in the hunt if that was needed. Hawkfeather, however, saw how determined Harepaw was when it came to catching this rabbit, he did not give up nor did he slow down, for that matter, and it made the mentor rather proud. His adopted brother, who was known as Ferretpaw, would’ve given up by now and complain about something without a doubt. His tail lashed behind him as he watched the apprentice leaped forward now and even manage to grasp the hare, wrestling it to the ground in the long grass. The prey wasn’t that large compared to the feline, but it would still put up a fight before giving up. Although, after awhile, Hawkfeather looked down at Harepaw once he returned to the mentor with the limp carcass of the rabbit in his jaws. He dropped it between them and purred with satisfaction while his tail swished back and forth behind him. The Chausie smiled, nodding to Harepaw’s words. “You certainly did, young one, and you did an amazing job.” He praised his apprentice with a purr of his own stirring from his throat, “I am very proud of you and I know this will feed a hungry mouth back at camp. How about we head back so you can rest after all that running?” Hawkfeather now offered, feeling a lightened breeze ruffle his fur for a moment, becoming relaxed and calmed as his heartbeat went back to a normal pace as adrenaline faded.
