Fernstar padded out of her den and pushed through the ferns hiding the burrow from sight. She looked around the clearing for some cat to talk to. She sometimes hated having a den to herself. It was a lonely life, being a leader. She felt as though she had aged fifty moons in the span of a quarter moon.

Bramblefrost sat in the nursery, rasping her tongue over her shoulder. Her kits would be born soon, and she couldn't wait. If only her former mate hadn't decided he had wanted nothing to do with the kits...Oh, well. At least she had her Clanmates for company now. She stumbled to her feet with the weight of her large belly weighing her down. She wobbled out of the den and over to the fresh-kill pile.
There wasn't much on the pile. She wrinkled her nose. If only she wasn't so helpless like this, she could catch a nice, juicy mouse for herself. Or her Clanmates.

Manapaw awoke in the medince cat den. He was starving but he had to do his dutys first. He collect stray leaves, put sorted them into their place, he took out rotted old plants and threw them into the back. He got more moss for the nests and went outside to look for a few seconds at the wonderful trees and grasses swaying with the wind. He had now finished and went out to get food. Ugh so hungry... least my head ache is gone. I'm suprised my head hasen't burst with leaves and roots. He picks up a small little withered mouse and then saw Brablefrost with her swollen belly. It's huge she's going to have kits soon! He felt guilt pick at him he was going to eat and there she was looking over the small prey pile. So he did the least he could "Here have this mouse it might help you kits grow inside you." He said as he padded toward her dropping the mouse at her feet.

Bramblefrost's eyes widened, "Thank you, Manapaw!" She looked over the mouse, uncharacteristically kindly adding, "It looks big enough to share with an apprentice. If you would like a bit, I don't mind. I'm sure the hunting patrol will bring back even more mice."
