”What?!” Duskfern mewed, bewildered at the suggestion. “She stole ShadowClan prey! I’m not letting her get away with that!” How could he think that? This is ShadowClan prey! We should get it! If we backed off, we would look weak! And Dawnstar wouldn’t appreciate us doing that..

Mistyfang pulled her away.
”I always knew clan cats were weak.” The rogue purred with satisfaction.
He panted. ”Take the mouse, but leave ShadowClan. And don’t come back.”
“Hmmm..” she pretended to think. “We’ll see.” The rogue laughed before turning away, the final glimpse of her the twinkle of amusement in her eye.

Duskfern turned to Mistyfang, furious. ”What was that?!” the angry shecat meowed loudly. “She has the mouse, she thinks ShadowClan is weak, and she’s probably coming back! How are we gonna explain this to Dawnstar?”

”Sure, it may have gotten the wrong message across, but no one got hurt. It would have been harder to explain to Dawnstar that we were covered in scratches because of a small argument with a rogue,” He pointed out. “Besides, it was just a mouse.”

Okay, dock would be identified through smell, and borage through touch and she had a sighted companion that would most likely be better at finding the latter than her, and despite her weaker nose, she should be able to find the stark and distinct smell of dock quite easily. So moving out, tail gesturing to Tallfern to follow her, Doetuft lead the small patrol out of camp and into the territory, gait supported by a mild limp from where the buzzard attack's scratches were having a nasty time healing, but it didn't disrupt her too badly. "Are you... looking out... for the borage?" she questioned as she lifted her nose, doing her best attempt to try to notice the scent of dock. It was strange; her previous patrols had only resulted in chaos and pebbles and stones being thrown around because apparently neither her nor Irisflame could get along at all.

Tallfern trotted after the other she-cat with her tail raised, large paws surprisingly quiet against the carpeting of pine needles, “Of course!” She agreed, simply happy to be doing something, scanning the undergrowth for anything resembling Ebonyfang’s description. She circled a tuft of weeds, emerald eyes narrowed as she studied a clump of aster, “No, no...this can’t be right. He said they look like stars—these look like fat stars.” She muttered to herself. @ Arie
