she spotted her new apprentice padding over to her with excitement. her face warmed with joy upon her appearance. what to train? she didn't think that far ahead- hmm. "hmm- well how about we do some hunting today hm? how does that sound?". she never really thought she'd ever get an apprentice- but she was certainly glad to take one.

she giggled at the excitement her apprentice had. once they made it to their destination she started to think about what to teach first. "how much do you already know about how to hunt?" she asked. trying to find a common ground to start with.

"well, you've got that part down, but put you tail down you'll look like a moving stick" she joked "now you need to move very slowly, try not to step on any sticks or leaves that might alarm the prey like so" she crouches down with her head beneath the tall grass and quietly moves. when she gets back up she signals her apprentice to take a go at it.

FloodPaw nodded her head lowering her back end and tried to move but fell down on her chin not able to get her stance correct "Umm let me try again." she fixed her body and lowerd her tail for balance she was better balanced and managed to make it halfway pausing and going the other half but she was a bit unsteady

she nodded approvingly "were doing better! but you still need a bit more practice. some species of prey are bit harder to catch than others.but i think with your skill you should at least be able to catch a mouse if you still enough. mice have good hearing so you have to be super quiet! toads are easy as well but they can hop away quickly so you have to catch them quick. same goes for birds." she'll have to teach them tree climbing another day. "try to practice you stance a few more times then we'll go hunting for real ok?".
