Leading the way instead of trailing along behind the group felt odd. Felt lonely. Coming up the rear left him alone but he never felt lonely. He always had the clan ahead of him, everyone in view. Now, however, he could only hear the shuffling of paws and chittering of casual conversation behind him. The way ahead was clear. Sootstar shook his head, focusing on the feeling of the sand between his paws. The crashing of the waves on the shoreline. It was just a gathering. He had been to plenty of those before. He just had to speak for this one.
Right. Well. Better get it over with.

Not terribly behind Sootstar was Lionstorm, wide eyes admiring the Seastones truly for the first time in some moons.
He could hardly recall the last time he attended the Gathering as a non high rank. It felt like.. he had been deputy and leader forever, and for once he could actually enjoy himself. It was rejuvenating.
If only Fawn was around to enjoy this with him, he missed that stupid dork.
The other Clans weren't here, so Lionstorm lingered at the edge of the RiverClan crowd, looking for an opportunity to jump in.

Snowfern followed sootstar to the gathering place, her head held high as she gazed around. Her heart was pounding, but she was doing her best to hide how nervous she was. Finding a place near the middle of the area, she sat down and waited for the other clans to arrive.

Ebonypaw trailed after the leader and former leader, as close to the front as he could get. He (as usual) tripped over his massive paws in the process, but finally reached Seastones. It was, what, his... Second Gathering? He wasn't quite sure. Just that he was truly a RiverClan cat now, not some filthy rogue.

High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement] Sparrowskip followed right behind Sootstar. His first gathering as medicine cat.. well this would sure be interesting! He wondered how everyone would react to him being medicine cat, but more importantly Sootflare becoming leader. Although the thing he was most excited about was seeing the other medicine cats. That would be fun, right?
