Mavasta's stroll through the woodland had been uneventful until she'd stumbled upon the stream. It wasn't especially rough or wide and it looked like a perfectly pleasant spot to drink from as well as fish from. Hopefully the tiny colored slips of light she'd seen while padding along the shore were fish and not just twoleg trash.
The familiar sound of digging and shuffling make her perk up while she was dipping her white paws into the cool water. Eyes shooting up to the opposite bank, ears perking to the sound, Mavasta opened her mouth to try and catch a scent. Within seconds her amber eyes were widening in shock as the tell-tale scent of a lone
kit ht her palette.
Something was wrong here, very wrong. Within moments Mavasta was crossing the stream, strong legs churning water until she was at the opposite bank in short order. Shaking her tabby pelt dry she softly mewed,
"Hello little one? Are you lost?" She dropped her shoulders and ears to appear as non-threatening as possible, "I promise I'm only going to help you,"
