Lotusheart caught up. She was approaching the pond with its glassy waters and swaying cattails.
"Here it is. Try dipping your paws but don't go too deep." she mewed.

Wolfpaw dipped his paws with no problem, he knew how to swim after all so walking in water would be issue.

Sootpaw looked back into Stormtalon’s eyes before glancing away, a bit uncomfortable. He was sort of handsome, and it made her a bit nervous. “Nice to meet you too.” she answered before curling her tail over her own paws. Smiling, she liked her chest fur. She sort of enjoyed his company, but in a different way then she enjoyed Stealthpaw’s or Podpaw’s or Leopardblaze’s.

“It’s okay.” She mewed, her gaze flickering back to Stormtalon. Everyone made mistakes. We’ll go in a minute.” She could fight, and she was almost a warrior, so she couldn’t really see what he was worried about, but hey, she didn’t want t get in trouble again.

”What are you doing out here, anyways?” Sootpaw asked, flashing him a grin. Wasn’t it unsafe for there to be only one warrior at a time, too? What if a fox attacked and you were the only one out? That would be bad, right? You could just die without anyone knowing, and then they find your dead body...

She gave a shiver at the thought. She imagined finding Leopardblaze or Stealthpaw or any of her friends like that. It would be the worst thing ever. And for some reason, once her mind got to an image of Stormtalon, dead, her mind would’ve move into anyone else.

Why?

Stormtalon noticed how the silvery ginger she-cat glanced away from him soon after their eyes met, but he didn't think much of it. It was their first time speaking directly; no assumptions could be made with such little interaction. He watched as Sootpaw dipped her head to lick her chest, tail curling around her paws, and the tabby tom wondered if it was a gesture of ease or the opposite before his mind drifted once more.

Stormtalon's chest tightened a little when she asked the question he hoped to avoid answering. Technically yes, as a full fledged warrior he was allowed to be away from camp on his own, but it was frowned upon for warriors to be completely alone outside normal patrol hours. He searched his mind for an excuse. Starclan, he was too distracted to think of anything convincing.

"I'm going to get some- uh- herbs. For Fawnsqueak." The lie was even more obvious with his flat tone of voice. Stormtalon was close to telling Sootpaw the truth, if only to avoid suspicion of worse activities-- but he was slightly curious how the she-cat would react, so he waited.

Lotusheart was a bit relieved. She was worried about his safety, especially if he couldn't swim. Thankfully, he could.

The she-cat glanced at the river before looking back at Stormtalon. He was so nice to be here with, and maybe they could go for a walk or something after they finished this little talk they had going on. A walk under the moonlight. That sounded amazing to Sootpaw.

Just him and her.

The thought made her heart leap. She found herself almost asking if they could do that-
WAIT.

Did Sootpaw have a crush on Stormtlon? No, this couldn’t be happening. She couldn’t have a crush, at least not yet. She’d always thought she’d be a warrior when she had her first crush, but she guessed it was too late to wait to be one now.

Not when this cat was right in front of her. Not the muscular ash and black Tom with those magnificent green eyes. Her ears perked up as he began to speak again. “Herbs? I can help you. What herbs do you need?” She asked him, gazing into his eyes.

The tabby thought about it. He was up for some training after Spiritedleap told him that it was his decision for if he wanted to train now or later. "Mmay wwe ttrain nnow, pplease?" he requested hoping that she didn't have a lot on her shoulders. There should be some sort of log for him to check on so he knew if it was okay to request something big. Silentpaw waited for the warrior's response as he made sure everything was tidy.
