Fadedpaw walked silently. Hopefully. She snuck around and didn't even know where she was... Where am I? she thought. SHe looked at Dawnstar then at the other cats.

Duskfern awoke in a dark surrounding. She looked up, and saw a leafy covering. ”The Dark Forest...” she murmured. Her ears twitched as she heard noise. Following it, she found ShadowClan cats, and leading this group was Dawnstar. Although she was confused, she didn’t want to anger her leader. In a calm tone, she asked, “Dawnstar? Why are these ShadowClan cats in the Dark Forest?” she looked around and mostly saw cats she knew. Some she recalled she saw before, except for a cat Dawnstar kept her eye on. She sat down with the rest of the cats.

Burningspark awoke in the shadowy forest, and after a moment of looking around, knew where he was. While he had only visited a few times before... was it sad to say he wasn't surprised to be visiting again? The large russet tom got to his paws and waited with his claws unsheathed for some Dark Forest cat to appear. However, when none came quickly, he strode deeper into the forest. His ears quickly caught the sounds of murmuring in a mass of cats, and he padded towards it.
The scent of ShadowClan washed over his nose comfortingly, but it as mixed to the scent of Dark Forest cats and a few cats from other Clans. He broke through the foliage, curious, and saw the gathering of cats. Was he surprised at the sheer quantity of the cats that have arrived? A little. Was he surprised at how many ShadowClanners had found their way here? Hell no. "Dawnstar." He mewed, voice void of emotion before his ears caught the words of his clanmate. "I'd be surprised if there weren't ShadowClan cats here on a nightly basis." His rough voice rumbled as he turned his cold gold eyes to the she-cat. "However, this does seem to be a new meeting place." He looked around, seeing mostly familiar pelts if not faces, before seeing his apprentice. Surprise flickered in his eyes before he felt some respect for the young apprentice. Though Burningspark might not have been the kindest or Fadedpaw the meanest, he felt some sort of respect for the young she-cat, along with confusion. "Fadedpaw." He grumbled. "Come here." He didn't trust other cats to not start a fight in which Fadedpaw could not hold her own and he would be punished.

"Yes, Burningspark." Fadedpaw mewed padding over. "What is it? I don't even know what happened. I just woke up here." sje mewed shaking her head in confusion.

The black tom kept awaiting Jaggedstone to fight him... but it was like they had no brain at all. They didn't even respond. Mouse-brain. Or no brain more like it. Hmph. Ghosttail shook his head. Guess he wasn't going to fight or anything. Damn it. He shook his head again and called to Dawnstar. "What now?"

Burningspark sat down where he was, turning his gaze to his apprentice in a scrutinizing way before sighing. Clearly, there were some cats here that weren't meant to be. He was slightly disappointed - having his apprentice training in the Dark Forest would have made him warm up slightly more because she was putting in an effort to improve. "Welcome to the Dark Forest then Fadedpaw." He mewed, his voice as even as his rough voice could get. "You haven't woken up yet really - this is a dream." Or nightmare for some cats. "However, don't start a fight you can't win here, because whatever injuries you get will stay with you in the real world. I'd prefer you not fight at all, but if you do, don't get killed." His words were blunt and once again emotionless. He didn't truly care about her persay he just didn't want to deal with the death of his first apprentice and the punishments bound to follow afterward. He also wasn't keen on seeing what happens to a cat's spirit after dying in a dream, because he was sure whatever happened wasn't pleasant, though death never was.

"What if someone fights me?" the apprentice said shyly and fearfully.

Burningspark saw the fear in his apprentice's eyes and sighed. He couldn't blame her, she was as green as the leaves after a fresh bout of rain in new-leaf, but he had hoped she would have had some fighting spirit in her. However, he figured he could help her get it in good time, they just needed to further train. "Then do fight back with everything you have, because weakness is not something you can show in a fight." His words were a life lesson she needed to learn, and he hoped she ingrained those words into her head and remembered them for the battles to come. If she had any hope of surviving, she needed to. "And if it looks like you might get yourself killed, I'll come help you." He wasn't keen on his apprentice dying, however much he loathed speaking and saving others who needed to learn to save themselves.

"Ok, Burningspark." she said getting her courage back. She looked around then asked, "What do I do now?"

His gold gaze looked around the clearing for a moment, pondering what they could do. They could spar but... He spotted the pair sparring a little ways away and decided if they were going to Dawnstar could tell them to do so. He turned back to his woefully trained apprentice. "Sit, wait, and listen." He mewed, an idea materializing in his head as he returned his gaze back to his apprentice. "And plan in the future to visit the Dark Forest more often. We can do sparring training here as well to get you into shape." Days could be reserved for hunting and borders, but in the Dark Forest, they could spar at night, utilizing all hours of the day to whip Fadedpaw into the warrior he suddenly realized she could be. He gave a slightly wolfish smirk at Fadedpaw before it quickly disappeared. "You'll be a good warrior once I'm done with you." He mewed, flicking his burnt ear as his gaze looked away once more.
