Good. He didn't like WindClan cats very much, and he was glad she ditched that dunghole for a superior Clan. "You're better off. WindClan is a rat nest."

At the mention of his name, his muzzle twisted into a smirk and the spiky fur along his chest fluffed up as he puffed it out, chin raised. "Who else would I be? Lionstorm, deputy of RiverClan. And don't you forget that, Mintberry."

Mintberry's eyed the tom in amusement before nodding in agreement. At least she wasn't the only one who thought that of WindClan. Blazingstar didn't deserve to be leader, he was a murderer. She'd never forget what had happened, even if he had buried it so no one else could find out.

However, the amusement was short lived. The chest puffing, the chin lifting... that smirk. Mintberry's eyes lit up with realization and her ears folded back. "You're..." a gasp left her body and she felt as though her heart dropped to the ground. She had dreaded this day. "...alive" the whisper was hardly audible. The warrior backed up a few steps before she found herself turning and trying to walk off. "I really mu- must be going now!" she spoke, rushed.

Where was she going?

Lionstorm's ears twitched with confusion and he wasted no time in following her, catching up to her stride with ease. He had long legs for a reason! "Of course I'm alive," he said to her as they walked. "What, is there a reason I shouldn't be?"

N- No, of course not!" Mintberry knew there was no running from him. He could easily outpace her so there was no point in trying. She stopped in her tracks, but didn't look at him, she refused. How did she create such a big feline? She'd never know. "I don't know why I said that!" she laughed uncomfortably again.

"I don't know why you said that either."

Lionstorm stopped beside her, peering at her tuxedo pelt closely. He was confused by her behavior, and he couldn't help the itch that he knew her from somewhere.

It didn't help she wasn't talking about it. She clammed up faster than a shell on the beach, and he didn't like that one little bit. He needed to pry her open. "Judging by your reaction, I'm guessing you recognize me more than I recognize you. But.. why do I recognize you, Mintberry? I know your scent, but I don't know you."

Something clicked in her mind, an attempt to get out of this mess she created. "Fr- From the battles!" she blurted out suddenly. "We probably saw each other in the battle and that's why we recognize each other, right?" she spoke, attempting to make herself sound confident in her answer. She even dared to meet his gaze, but she wanted to flinch away.

An easy explanation, but he knew better than that. Mintberry was an awful liar, and she solidified her fate when she couldn't even look him in the eye. Pathetic.

"No," he said with a sudden coldness. "You can't trick me like that, Mintberry. I'm not a stupid WindClan cat, and your lying isn't going to get you anywhere. Tell me the truth."

"I don't know!" her voice started to raise with frustration. Why must he pry at her? Why couldn't he take that answer and go? "That's the only thing I can think of," she continued, her tail starting to lash. Mintberrys eyes flashed a warning at him to back off, but if he was really Blazingstars son, she knew he would be just as stubborn.

"I know you're lying," Lionstorm growled at her, taking a step closer to Mintberry with bristling fur. "So why don't you just let it out? It'll save you a lot of trouble than if you kept up this charade." @SuspiciousMindz

Mintberry wouldn't stand for this. Despite the emotion she was feeling, she pinned her ears back and bristled her fur in return. "Are you threatening me, Lionstorm?" she spoke back, avoiding the initial question entirely. This was her excuse currently. "I don't believe it's a safe call to be threatening the closest thing to an ally your clan has, is it?"
