Re: ShadowClan Territory
[ had to retype this two damn times. 0/10, don't recommend. ]
@Shimm @GoldenWolf
sheeplight wasn't purposely dragging the rest of the patrol behind. well, not completely on purpose. she was more.. frustrated that she had to do work right now. which-- of course! she was a warrior and knew patrols blah blah stuff needed to be done. thing is.. this wasn't a working day for the molly. four days out of the week.. sheeplight would allow herself to be dragged onto a patrol. this was not one of those days. she had a scowl as she followed behind larkpaw, a yawn escaping her mouth. as the warrior came into view of creekwind, she waved her feathery tail. "not.. dead yet, " sheeplight sigh, her eyes droopy. she stretch her limbs, throwing her head back to groan.
"let's get this over with, " sheeplight mumbled. stupid riverclan. had to go and exist. stupid stupid. she began to walk along the border..

@TawnyNeedsACoffee
sheeplight was pleasantly enjoying the thistle tm experience. though, she was also pretty sure she had found her second favorite spot. while thistletongue was out dying in the sun, sheeplight was half dying in the sun. half of her body was covered by the shade of a pine tree. it didn't blend together so greatly but the molly would say it was enjoyable. she hum, turning her head to look at thistletongue with half-lidded eyes. sheeplight offer a soft lopsided smile, "you're welcooomeee…" sheeplight giggled, closing her eyes again. she wouldn't deny that besides the wonderful spot..thistletongue's company as also enjoyable. she wasn't sure why he hadn't in less graphic terms of what sheeplight was thinking, why he hadn't killed her already if she was annoying him that bad. sheeplight was grateful though. ish. not really. of course, all good things have to come to an end. because thistle is a brat.
sheeplight peek one eye open, turning her head fully to thistle. in a deadpan voice, "i hope a monster runs you over, " she stated calmly-- pouting at the tom. she turned her back away to him, letting out a small 'hmph'. she didn't follow the cat-- being too comfortable where she was and was frankly out of energy. interaction required motivation. so, sheeplight would just frankly curl up into a ball. her feathery tail resting over her snout as she slept on. oh well, dreamy time here she comes!

Re: ShadowClan Territory
The molly didn't know how to react to Sheeplight's emotions to this patrol. "Uh...okay." She managed to mumble with her tip of ears heating up from embarrassment. Creekwind silently padded ahead of the two as she headed towards the Windclan border. The trees felt like protection from any watchful eyes and stepping out and near the border she felt bare to the eye. Looking around for any markers and then to her patrol. "Does anybody want to volunteer to mark the border?" She asked in her hushed, softly spoken voice.

Shadowing the other feline, Copperhoney parts from the clearing, flanking Russetpatch with respective ease.

Russetpatch padded out into the territory. The she sniffed the air. The warrior smelled a squirrel nearby. She crouched and, with a flick of her tail for her clanmate to be silent, sneaked towards the redbrown creature. Slowly she came closer before she pounced onto the prey. It squeaked and tried to run, but before it could go she bit it's neck. After burying the prey she turned back to Copperhoney.

"I don't think I told you what we were doing today." he said. "Today, we're doing a hunting patrol!" He said. "I hope you're ready, cause it's going to be a long day. 'Cmon!" He then padded into territory.

The air on Dawnpaw's fur shot up at the sudden appearance, but she managed to calm them quickly. Her fear was getting better in general, actually, and she felt ready to take on the day. What her mentor had said was a little amusing, though- Foxleaf, oversleeping? I guess every day has its surprises.
"Of course, sleepypwas," she meowed softly, testing the waters a bit with the teasing, then padded after her mentor with a big smile into the territory.

She had failed to notice the new scar the apprentice had acquired, she would have continued overlooking it if Thistlepaw hadn't turned away from her like that, seemingly flustered about something. The broad-shouldered warrior felt that familiar lump of feelings in her throat that made it difficult for her to swallow. She wanted to tear something apart, feelings went hand in hand with weakness and she wouldn't have it. She wasn't going to grow soft or feel bad for not checking on either apprentice after the raid. Between her shoulder, her belly and several other wounds, Thistlepaw should be happy that she was still around to bother training her.
Pushing her aggravating thoughts aside, she keenly listens to Thistlepaw as she explains what she knew and didn't know. The dark molly begins working out a solid idea of what she needed to work and build on with Thistlepaw. "You're smart, it nice to know not all apprentice sit around and blindly wait to be told and taught what to do. You can show me some of your tricks for hunting the next time we go out, my shoulder should be healed enough for me to teach you a few more hunting techniques that you need to learn." She paused in her speech to part her maw and scent the air as they neared the border.
"Training with other apprentices without a mentor to comment on what you're doing wrong and right is usually a waste of time. All they do is whine like sniveling kits or they don't try at all." At least that is how her experiences went when she tried training with others as an apprentice. It was easier taking a beating from her mother and improving that way. "You probably shouldn't have been fighting in the raid if you aren't utterly confident in skills to win," she comments glancing sideways at the upset tortie, "since you're not dead I won't lecture you about it." No point it was already done.
"I'll see about teaching you more than just defending at the training grounds when I'm free. There's more to fighting then just defending yourself. Don't get yourself so worked up about not knowing how to do everything yet. You're still an apprentice you have an excuse, plus your last mentor was clearly worthless. You'll learn, I'll teach you what you need to know about the strength of a real Shadowclan warrior." Dawnstripe smirked, she might actually enjoy training the cat if she was anything like Dawnstripe had been as an apprentice.
|
At first Thistlepaw blinked in surprise at the agreeable nature of their conversation so far. She was eager to show her skills to her mentor and learn new ones. Though the brief flash of hope and decent demeanor slipped away as the mentor commented solely on her choices of fighting. Her grey and cream fur pricked along her spine angrily as she turned and glared at Dawnstripw.
"You truly expect me to sit back and watch my clan get beat as badly as we dis without trying to do something?" Thistlepaw spat angrily at the warrior, golden eyes full of anger. "You're mousebrained. And for your information I didn't train with other apprentices for the fun of it, I had nothing better to do! And I wanted more practice."
She huffed and held her gaze on the warrior's face. She didn't care if Dawnstripe wanted to snap back at her for being mad, she was allowed to feel the last time she checked. Plus, she would accept the punishment for defending her own actions and honour. Hurt rippled deep within her chest at her mentor's words, but the emotion didn't get past her solid gaze.

Ashclaw let out a soft scoff. "Barely older? But who's the warrior, right, not you," The remark was rather lame, but Ashclaw felt defensive. As they exited the camp, the warrior took the lead, taking them deeper into the territory. "Soooo, when do you think you'll get your warrior name anyway?" he inquired, trying to ease the silence.
|
She glared at him, eyes narrowing as he made his jab. Her tail flicked behind her. However, as he asked when she thought she would be named a warrior she looked briskly away and shrugged.
"I don't know, will be at least another moon until I'm old enough." She grumbled angrily, scarred ear flicking as she remember her failure in the last battle. A life long reminder of her first battle. She sighed and changed the subject away from herself. "Where are we going to hunt today?"

Discerning the signal from Russetpatch to remain silent, the vermillion molly obliges, observing as the other she-cat quickly hunts down a rodent.
As her clanmate pivots back towards her, a bemused smirk proffers itself upon her muzzle, a distant mew of, “Nice catch,” emitting her feline lips. As she said it, however, her gaze had not remained upon Russetpatch, opting instead to peer out towards a patch of underbrush before the both of them, sanguine ears quirking in anticipation. The lithe squeaking of a mouse had been enough to send Copperhoney darting off after it, burly forepaws slashing down before snapping her jaws shut on the poor creature.
A prideful smile hangs from her lips, as does the carcass of the prey.

"You too." Russetpatch meowed as Copperhoney caught the mouse. Her ears perked as she searched for other prey. She noticed a crow sitting on the lowest branch of a tree, about a taillength from the ground. The warrior crouched again and sneaked towards the prey, but as the she came close she accidentally stepped on a twig, causing it to snap. The bird screeched and flew off. "Mousedung!"

Cringing against the tumult of the snapping twig, Copperhoney proffers nothing to her cohort but a rapid narrowing of the eyes, as if in a sort of forced sympathy. Her sanguine tail lashes amid contempt, expression glowering as she discerns the ebony fowl taking flight.
“It happens,” soughs the rust-pigmented warrior, gaze already scrutinizing the territory once more for other sources of prey. A beat passes as the molly’s ears flick toward her head, incapable of concentration for the moment. Her gaze flits from rustling brambles to scents in the air to the crow’s path of flight, lingering upon none for more than an instant or two. Irked, an expression of utter choler appears to contort her vermillion features, whiskers twitching amid frustration.
Even so, the warrior prepares herself, claws piercing into the earth.
