Stormwind

Stormwind purred softly as Mapleface began pointing out her kits. Kits are the strength of any clan, and it was wonderful to see his friend have so much pride in hers. The sound cut off immediately as Mapleface mentioned her missing kit.

He instinctively scented the air for strange threats or any distressed kits, but no one seemed off aside from Mapleface. "Since last night?" Stormwind touched his nose briefly to her shoulder to add some comfort to his blunt questions. "Do you have any idea what happened? I'd be happy to help you search."

Offering Stormwind a grateful smile - because he was taking her plight seriously - the tortie-point turned back to look at her kits, only to be met by a very loud screech. Oh. Cringing slightly, Mapleface craned her neck to look for the object of such a sound - her daughter. "Redkit, darling?" She called wearily, concern marring her features. "What's wrong?"

And then, to Stormwind about his question; "I don't know." She admitted roughly, voice low enough so that hopefully it wouldn't be overheard. "They were all there last night and when I woke up this morning..." Trailing off, Mapleface cast a worried glance around the den again, as if making certain Applekit, Redkit, and Rosekit were all still alright.

Stormwind

Stormwind's mind raced through possibilities of what could have happened. It was unlikely something could have gotten past all the warriors, but then again the camp was new enough that there were still a few wall that needed reinforcing.

"Is Alderkit particularly adventurous? Could he have wandered out and gotten lost or were there signs of ..."

Stormwind cut off immediately and instinctively raised his hackles against danger when he heard one of the kits scream. One of Mapleshade's he realized, maybe Redkit? Mapleface seemed to be calming her daughter, and as he watched Stormwind began wondering if Redkit knew anything about what her brother had been up to last night.

Redkit

The kitten blinked her tri-colored eyes up at her mother, brow furrowing in confusion. Of course she was okay. How silly of her mom to think she was not-okay. "Mama did you hear how LOUD I was?" The kitten squeaked with a wide, proud grin. "I've been practicing." She informed her mother proudly, her voluminous little tail waving as she hopped over, attempting to give her mama a nuzzle, before frowning up at the tom who was there. Who was THIS guy?

"Is this big cat talk? Does Redkit need to go practice somewhere else?" She asked, batting at the tomcat's tail boredly. Was that a word? It was now, it just.... skipped off the tongue.

Little more than a fluffy ball of chocolate fur, Sprucekit waddled inside the nursery, a mouse securely in his maw. He'd gotten hungry, and after making certain no one was seeing him, he'd rushed towards the fresh kill pile, grabbed the smallest mouse he could find, and dodged the hell out of there. If he hadn't grown so used to doing exactly that during his stint in the dangerous paths back in the housefolk place, his little lungs would have been heaving with the effort. Life on the run from any and all rogues eager to give him a beating for fun or to steal whatever small meal he could scrounge up had given him the stamina he required for this small run, however, and safe from the prying eyes of others, he now sought the safety of his nest. Chocolate point ears flattened at this thought, knowing full well he would have to be careful not to attract too much attention to himself once he reached it. He knew well enough at this point that these thunderous cats had a pile of food that anyone could take food from, but you never knew what Maplesyrupleafface would suddenly do to feed her band of noisy little pests. No, he wasn't jealous they still had a ma and he didn't. Back off.

As his emerald hues scanned the nursery, the former kittypet raised a kitty brow, his eyes landing on a nearby flame point who was... eating... his own paw. Case in point. Hunger drove cats mad. Even those who could just go out and eat before attempting to self cannibalize. A small shudder ran through Fudge's spine, wondering if one day he too would succumb and start acting like these oddballs, accepting weird names that changed every time they sneezed and chanting to the moon.

Realizing he was openly staring at the paw chewer, the long furred kit averted his gaze, reminding himself that he was trying to lay low. Especially if Cattibal over there was as hungry as he seemed. This was his mouse. His! The others could go get their own. Fur fluffed up, Fudge crouched and headed as silently as he could to his nest, hoping to settle down for a nice, quiet meal.
