Firestorm sat at the entrance of her mate’s den as Fallownose began calling out patrols. Occasionally she would find herself missing the company of some of the other warriors, but ensuring Spots’ safety was her highest priority. Plus with her recent bouts of morning sickness, it helped that the medicine cat was readily accessible should she need assistance.
A long list of names was beginning to be called, however, there was one that grabbed her attention. ’Lightningstorm?’ She silently questioned. It was also odd that she was leading a hunting patrol of all things, and she found herself casting a worried glance toward where she assumed the calico lass was. Yes, Lightningstorm wasn’t as angry at the world as often as she was before, but her mental state was still questionable and the orange tabby was sure that she would not be happy about leaving her herbs in the paws of someone else.
Of course, all of that was momentary, as she heard her name called as well. Oh?? A patrol?? And she was leading it??? Wonderful!! Firestorm was concerned about Spots, yes, however, she was leading her very first patrol! Clearly, Fallownose recognized her greatness and was definitely preparing to deputize her after Twinkles was gone. It was only logical, after all, as the best hunter in the clan, and clearly the absolute best, it’d only make sense for her to be receiving more responsibilities.
”Ohh, I’m coming Fallowy~” She chirped, pale green eyes sparkling with excitement as she bounced over ”Let’s get goin–oh urk–” She paused her antics for a moment as a wave of nausea washed over her. Well, she managed to keep everything contained for the moment, but the spinning in her head and sloshing of her stomach was a dangerous combination. Closing her eyes for a moment, she took a deep breath before (carefully) padding the rest of the way to a spot off to the side. ”Ooh Cloverhoney~, Ravenpaw~~ let’s get going~!” She purred as if none of that happened.

Despite the lingering white patching on the toms pelt from the mink attack Fallownose padding to his usual 'Im going to assign patrols' spot had roused the tom and brought him front and center. Aaaaaaand earned him a lead patrol spot! Nice. The tom enjoyed border patrols, generally wished he was assigned to more though had trouble shaking the lingering guilt of not going on hunting patrols. See, he was good at those, tunneling helped in the winter when prey hid below, and the prey pile was oft empty. Windclan had a weird thing with it either being very full or empty.
So justifying going to the borders to do nothing but check wasnt something he could do often.
But this was governmentaly approved via the deputy! Lets gooooo!
"On 't dep. Applefrost, Winterpaw, an' my own charge gather up. The squirrels 'ave been quiet after givin' us their land but we aint droppin' our guard. 'll show ya the new land we got an' maybe we can get some forest fare outta 't, make use o' the new space.
Nightpaw, 'f yer up fer 't maybe I can teach some huntin' while we're at 't."
He really needed to ramp up the training with the kid, she'd gotten kind of training so far but like hell was Crowtooth was gonna let his first apprentice languish.
Winterpaw could piggyback off it the lesson too if needed.
Uh oh! Another patrol?
This time he wouldn't be failing! Slipping out of the apprentices, he gave a quick stretch and trotted over to the clearing. This would be fun! A border patrol? He hadn't done one of these before! Maybe they would meet a real life Shadowclanner? ¡Dios mios! That would be sick! Eyes blinking in excitement, he waited for his other patrolmates. One of which was his mentor, so he had to be on his best behavior to impress her!

She was leading a patrol, huh? Finally something interesting. But her ears pricked at the mention of the ShadowClan border, and she snorted. "Alright," She meowed coolly as she padded up to her patrolmates, one of which...was her new apprentice, and the other was Blazezong. "Let's get cracking on this." Her blue gaze slid over to Stempaw, studying him critically, "We'll work on some hunting practice while we're out."
With a flick of her tail, the pale gold and cream colored warrior turned and padded for the camp's entrance.

Oh? What was this? A patrol? How... Exciting! In her brief time in Windclan she has yet to explore every nook and cranny of their territory so being assigned to go do... Something... At this Sunset Grove place sounded like a treat! Mismatched hues lock onto her patrol mates with a glint of excitement before she bounds over with a bouncy gait, hearing her name as she approaches.
"That's meeee! Cloverhoney is here, nothing to fret over!"
Humming a few upbeat notes to herself, she glances between the two in an attempt to discern what exactly was happening. And when she can't seem to find anything she decides that y'know what? Maybe not her business! So she begins to trot circles around the two, tail raised high.
"Soooo, Sunset Grove, was it? What are we doin' there? Watching for enemies, hunting prey, gathering herbs?! Oh- or maybe all three! That would be something!"

Hunting patrol? Deadmoon.....Deadmoon could do that. It was a bit strange hearing another apprentice assigned to her patrol but she was.....she was dealing. She missed Duckpaw, stupid little irritating yapper that she was. Had been. Hopefully still was. Stars this was karma, for what she must have done to Snowy and she was fairly certain her regard for Duckpaw was, rightly or wrongly, far lower than the esteem he had held her in. Why was another, unfathomable matter entirely, but it was with a small sense of loss that Deadmoon stood in front of Fallownose, waiting for her patrolmates to make their appearances.

Maplepaw got up and tried to glance around camp for the medicine cat, which she couldn't really see through the crowd. "... Lightningstorrrm?" C'mon... Maplepaw had already exceeded her three words. She wasn't looking forward to talking more,
especially with the medicine cat,
alone with them,
outside of camp,
very far from camp,
into territory prone to birds of prey...
If anything, that did not sound like a good hunting place.
