The black tom paced anxiously in front of the medicine den, where his apprentice lay unconscious. Glancing around camp, his gaze caught on the nursery, where Dawnstrike was soon to be kitting. With one last nervous glance at the medicine den, he started across the clearing. Poking his head into the cozy den, he let his eyes adjust to the darkness. “Dawnstrike?” He whispered.
