As Ray was racking her memory for herbs, poppy seeds....for pain....or was it sleep? Marigold for.......strength..not stopping infections! Suddenly another cat entered her territory. At least this one wasn't hurt. She growled softly hopefully he wasn't a threat. As the other tom said he had herbs Ray glanced at him. Hopefully he actually had some and wasn't lying. If he did it would help and if he became annoying she'd just kick him out. " Get them now as many as you can carry and be quick!" She commanded.
She dashed away from the kit for a second to grab some cobwebs she'd hidden for a last resort incase anycat raided her place. She quickly dashed back ignoring both toms as she wrapped the cobwebs around the kit's leg wound. She murmurred softly to him trying to soothe him.

Weakend and hungry, Thrush woke to the smell of herbs and a mouse. He gobbled up the mouse in a mouthful, then moaned in pain. Another tom cat was talking to him in a soothing voice, and bringing him herbs. He couldn't make out any words, and drifted back to sleep.

" I'm not sure!" Ray snapped at him stressed. The kit wasn't looking good. She sighed. " I'm sorry I'm just stressed," She said after a couple seconds. She quickly and gently took the cobwebs off so she could put marigold on the wound. She chewed the marigold that the strange tom had given her and spread it on the kit's wound. She then rewrapped the cobwebs around his leg. She finally took a deep breath now that the hardest part was over. Now she just had to nurse him back to health. "What's your name little one?" She asked softly in a voice she reserved for kits and kits only.

" What!? NO!" Ray hissed. Her eyes widened as she realized the kit, Thrush was sleeping. She sighed then studied the young kit as he slept. She considered nursing him but then said, " I don't think I'll have to, he ate that mouse perfectly fine". It wasn't out of disgust that she said no...okay maybe a little...but the young tom looked like he could eat just fine, I mean she had seen him do it! As she gazed at the kit she had to admit she was feeling a little protective of him but not enough to nurse him unless he really needed it. So ignoring the other tom she grabbed the kit and gently pulled them inside her den. If the strange tom tried to follow her in she would glare at him until he left. She didn't trust the strange cat the way he had been nervous before then took charge made her feel like he wasn't who he said he was. Of course she could just be paronoid but....there was one thing she had learned while living alone. Trust no cat....except for a few.

(Thrush is 4 moons, but he has lived by himself sice he was 2 moons, and eats perefectly fine.)
