Default Re: WindClan Clearing

A young apprentice sat in a quiet corner of the clearig. She wasn't exactly in the socialising mood right now. Caracalpaw was an interesting cat. If you weren't careful with your words, her mood towards you could change from friendly to sarcastic and sharp-tongued in less than a second. The abyssian always yearned for respect. She knew that respect was a thing that had to be earnt, and she always tried her best to be the kind of respectable cat. But Caracalpaw wanted to know if others wanted to earn her respect.

The longer that Caracalpaw sat there alone, the more she felt like socialising again. But then again, the abyssian was very picky about who she socialised with. The apprentice preferred to be with those who were kind and patient. It was easier for others to deal with her impatience. Being sarcastic and impatient certainly had it's disadvantages. It meant that she tended to be rude a little more often than most. However, at the same time, it meant she was way better at winning arguments.

Caracalpaw didn't really feel like moving so she decided to just wait and see if anyone was going to approach her for a chat. To pass time, she decided to groom herself. Her paws were rather dusty because she had ran through a rather dusty part of the territory earlier. The apprentice slowly lifted one paw and started to clean away the dust, relief flooding into her eyes as she felt the dust vanishing from her paws, freeing them from the feeling of being disgusted.

Hunterpaw slid into the clearing, his thick black and white fur slicked down as his brown eyes flickered around. He glanced back at the apprentices den before stretching, placing his rather huge front paws in front of him and his rump in the air, enjoying the feeling before he straightened up. The cool breeze whooshed around his ears, and his eyes closed, ears turning back as he allowed the wind to brush against his fur.

Finally opening them again he gazed around, looking for his father. But there was no sign of him. As always. Hunterpaw nearly snorted, his tail drooping in disappointment. But he shook it off and padded forward, flashing a grin at a few she-cats. His eyes caught the green ones of his half-brother, Eclipsepaw, but he silently turned his head away and continued forward toward an old oak tree.

Once there, he settled down in the shade and stretched his front paws out, giving his chest fur a few good licks before raising his head and looking around. The young Tom looked deep in thought. Where's Dad? Did he go after Mom again? If cats could furrow their eyebrows, that's what Hunterpaw would be doing. He was used to it, used to people leaving.

Wheres Springwind? Hunterpaw sighed softly as he tucked his paws under him, glancing around for his mentor with his ears pricked. Springwind was the closes thing he had to a father at the moment, since his was never really around. Hunter looked up to him, though he would never admit that out loud of course..

@Noire

A brindled apprentice traveled around the clearing, hoping to find something to keep him busy. Something or someone. It had been a rather boring day for him. He arose, he ate, he trained a bit, and now he was ready to go and tackle the rest of the day. Which meant sleep...but the tom was far than ready for that. As he walked through the clearing, he looked around for something to keep his mind occupied.

What was there to do on a day like this? Like everyday, what had he done? Yesterday, the tom hung out with a couple of friends before he found himself napping in a tree, getting away from duties and such. And, the day before he found himself training a lot--something he loved to do. But, today was different. His muscles had ached, but they were beginning to get noticeable. Rippling under his smooth pelt for others to notice. It was indeed something to brag about, and something that he wanted the females to take notice off. A part of his boastful nature.

And, just as he was walking...his eyes landed on an Abyssinian, seemingly alone. Lost in her own thoughts. The tom stopped in his tracks, analyzing her. Wondering what she was up to. After all, he felt it was pretty weird that she was alone. What if she was planning something? An attack? A plotting? Anything of the sort? Normally, Spiralpaw wasn’t paranoid. There was no reason to be, but his curious nature always got the best of him, so he trotted up to her.

As he trotted up to her, he made sure his size appeared larger than her. He wanted to be intimidating as possible. He wanted to strike fear into her heart. His role model with his leader after all; Blazingstar. The young tom looked up to the former warrior-turned leader. Everything Blazingstar did, Spiralpaw tried to copy. He was more clumsy at it, but he knew he would be better.

The brindle apprentice circled around the other feline, eyeing her with an odd expression. One that said: I’m watching every move you make. He wanted to bombard her with questions, wanting to know why she seemed so suspicious. But, even he knew that everything took time. One step at a time.

‘’Who are you?’’ He asked, looking her up and down after he seemed satisfied with circling around her. She didn’t seem harmful, so he allowed himself to stretch, trying to show off the small rippling that he’s been working so hard on, hoping he would get complimented on them. ‘’Never seen you around before. And, I know everybody here!’’ He boasted, smiling brightly. ‘’And, when I say everybody!...I mean everybody in windclan! Hmph, I know everyone in the whole forest. That’s how well-known I am.’’ He exclaims, happy with his conclusion. Though it wasn’t true. At all. He was hardly noticed the way everything were, but the she-cat didn’t need to know that about him. The only thing she needed to pay attention to was his good looks, which he wasn’t all that bad looking. He was told that he was quite a handsome young tom--which floated to his head and stuck there, implanting himself to play on his looks at all times.

As he looked at the feline, he was hoping to fish compliments out of her to make himself look good--and feel good. She wasn’t that bad looking from what he saw. She was okay, nothing much, nothing less. He searched her yellow pupils, hoping she would talk to him. In all honesty, he felt lonely all day, and he needed to unwind, someone to talk to. Yet, he kept up a facade. Before she could even respond, he quickly added, ‘’I’m Spiralpaw. Remember that name--it’s important. Because I’m important and you should know this. I might be future leader someday. And, I won’t be repeating it, so I demand your name as well.’’ The tom sat on his haunches, staring the female in her face. Sure, he was being demanding, and perhaps farfetched, but he also had big dreams that he hoped to achieve someday.

Springwind was the closes thing he had to a father at the moment, since his was never really around. Hunter looked up to him, though he would never admit that out loud of course..

‘’Pleaseeeeee.’’ A sugary accent made Springwind’s ears tilt forward, but he continued to walk. He looked down at the small she-cat next to him, begging him to train her, but he already said no. More than one. More than twice. It has been a constant game between them. Yet, Alunapaw already know her uncle wasn’t going to go easy on her. She knew that he already had an apprentice, and he was loyal to that tom. The feline rolled her eyes. ‘’I thought blood was thicker than water?’’

Springwind smiled down at the apprentice, swishing his tail lightly as the two travelled into the clearing. ‘’And, it is, but...Hunterpaw is a special case. He is like a son to me.’’

‘’But, I’m your niece! By blood.’’ She pouted.

‘’Stop being insensitive, Aluna. Please. Learn how to put others in front of you.’’

‘’All he do is just act like a jerk anyway,’’ the small she-cat huffed. ‘’I hope he knows some she-cats can’t stand him, and one of those she-cats is me!’’ Alunapaw trotted alongside her uncle, looking ahead at every other cat, hoping to spot some of her own friends. Ever since she were a kit, she was raised by Spingwind after the disappearance from her mother, and the death of her father. She hardly remembered them anyway, so it didn’t matter to her much at all. Springwind tried his best to take care of her. She recently became an apprentice. A needy one that would not leave his tail alone. As they continued to walk into the clearing, Spingwind spotted his apprentice under a tree. He shot the young tom a friendly look before he turned back to his niece, giving her a gentle brush of his tail.

‘’I want you to be more aware of your surroundings, Aluna. Please. And, be kind.’’

‘’What, do you mean? I’m always kind.’’ She states, rolling her eyes. With her growing up, had been a challenge. She became more sarcastic, more wild, more challenging for the eye. She was definitely her mother’s kit, that was for sure. Springwind shook his head and pondered if he should even say anything to his niece or should he go handle Hunterpaw for now. Choosing the later might be worthwhile at this point.

The older tom, nosed her cheek, and bid her goodbye. Alunapaw was displeased at his departure, but she knew he had other matters to take care of. The she-cat glared at Hunterpaw, giving him an unreadable expression before she turned off, her tail high in the air and began trotting away to find something to do.

Springwind appeared in front of his apprentice, settling down beside him. ‘’You doing okay this morning? Sleep well last night?’’ He brushed his tail gently over the black and white tom. He knew that Hunterpaw’s life was chaotic, and therefore that was the main reason as to why Springwind requested to mentor the young tom. He needed someone to balance out his life. Someone to give him advice. Someone to keep him from going on the same path as his father. Hunterpaw needed that. Hunterpaw needed him. ‘’Sorry it took me so long to get here, lad. That niece of mines,’’ Spingwind shook his head, sighing loudly. ‘’She’s growing up and becoming...a challenge.’’ He gave a light chuckle. ‘’But, no worries, I’m here now, and I hope you’re doing well because, we have a big day ahead of us.’’ He says, mustering a bright smile for the young tom. Then, his eyes traveled to make sure he could see that his niece was alright. She was a bit aloof, never paying attention to her surroundings. He was afraid that she might get herself killed before he could even find the time to protect her. Springwind shook his head. She would be alright. For now, he had to look around and help her get a mentor. That’s what she needed at this point in her life. Someone to guide her. Just like he was doing with Hunterpaw. A son he wished he had, but never will have.

@Dark Melody
Hunterpaw gave an amused look toward Alunapaw, giving her one of his signature smirks. He couldnt quite hear the conversation, but knew that the she-cat was annoying the heck out of his mentor. And obviously by the looks she was giving him from across the clearing, she was talking about him. Fine, let her say whatever she wants. "Used to it anyway," He murmured, ears flicking as he glanced toward the other cats in the clearing.

Oh, he was used to it. Being called Half-Clan Trash, basically Parentless, he was deaf to it all. In fact he found the names they called him rather amusing. It didnt particularly bother him what anyone called him. It was only when others attacked his friends that he went off.

Like Curlypaw, for instance. Anyone messed with him, they messed with Hunter. They knew that, so they stayed away. Hunterpaw may be immature at times and a bit of a flirt but when it came to his friends and family, all of that just went away and he became someone nobody should mess with. And anyone messes with Cur, they'll meet my claws. Hunterpaw thought, his brown eyes darkening briefly.

He paused and pricked his ears when he mentor padded toward him, Alunepaw heading the other way with one last glance toward him. Hunterpaw grinned coyly at her before turning his gaze to Springwind, sitting up and curling his thick, bushy tail over his paws. He gave his mentor a smile, shaking his head.

"Slept pretty well. Even though Curlypaw was snoring all night," He added with a roll of his eyes, standing up and shaking out his black and white fur. He lowered his head to give his paws a few licks before shrugging. "No problem." He glanced over toward Alunepaw and smirked. "She's a pretty cat. Cant be mad at her." He chuckled, swiping his tongue over his jaws.

At his mentors next words he managed a bright smile. "Great, cant wait! Training. Yeah. Sounds fun." His ears flicked as he looked away, scanning the clearing for his father once more, but there was no sight. Hunterpaw shrugged, trying not to let that bother him as he turned back to his mentor.

Springwind flickered his tail at his apprentice, rolling his eyes. ‘’I’m glad you slept well. Though, Curlypaw could use some help with his snoring problem.’’ Springwind let out a snort, and turned to see if he could spot Alunapaw. By this time, the she-cat was out of sight, probably having a time with her friends. His ears perked towards Hunterpaw, narrowing his eyes as he stared at him. ‘’Hey, now, Hunterpaw. Leave my niece alone.’’ The older tom stands up and he begins walking away, hearing the remark of his apprentice. The uncaring-ness in his voice, triggered Spingwind slightly. When he turned his head to look back at Hunterpaw, he seen a distance look in his eyes. What was wrong with him now?

Usually Hunterpaw treasured their lessons, and now he’s suddenly feeling..lost? The tom decides to turn back, and he sits under the oak tree, searching for an answer in Hunterpaw’s eyes. ‘’What is wrong with you? You seem...distant, son.’’ Springwind says, his voice tainted with worry. Ever since Hunterpaw was appointed to Springwind for an apprentice, all Springwind’s been trying to do was get him ready to be the best warrior windclan had. He wanted Hunterpaw to serve his clan was with pride, and he hoped the same with Alunapaw. She definitely had a lot to fix on herself. The she-cat worried her uncle a lot. She was like a daughter to him, and the only remembrance left by his brother. Although, he could had picked a better mother for the kit.

Springwind felt a light bulb go off in his head, knowing what was wrong with his apprentice. The tom let out a deep sigh, feeling the breeze interact with his pelt, blowing it slightly. ‘’Listen here, I know you’re worried about your dad, but you need to focus on here and now. I don’t know your dad personally, but I know if you were worth anything to him, then he would be here, wouldn’t he?’’ Springwind only took him in because he felt pity for the apprentice. If he hadn’t heard about the sob story of Hunterpaw, he would had taken in his niece for an apprentice, but the tom needed him more. Not only was he fully not accepted into the clan for being half-blood, but his father left him. His mother left him, and only starclan knew where his step-mother was. Everything around him was in a frizzy. A confusion that may have left the young tom dying inside from the feeling of emptiness and loneliness. Springwind tried his hardest--his absolute hardest to get Alunapaw to accept him and become his friend, but she objected, saying she never will like half-clan cats. She always thought she was better than him anyway. Both of her parents were full windclan cats, and that was enough for her.

Springwind didn’t know what to tell him, but he did worry for the young tom. ‘’You’ll find your place eventually. I promise, but for now focus on what is right now. What is right here. I need to know what you need to improve in, so lay it all on me. And, don’t forget to focus.’’

"He does have a snoring problem," Snowpaw whined, padding up to them. The usually spunky she-cat looked dead exhausted
"Tell me about it," Swiftpaw slumped after her "Honestly Snow, how did you share a nest with him?"
"He is my brother," Snowpaw purred "despite his snoring, he's nice to be around."
"Especially sense I don't snore!" Curlypaw marched up to them, the curly fur he was named for on end "I think I would know if I snore!"

"Especially sense I don't snore!" Curlypaw marched up to them, the curly fur he was named for on end "I think I would know if I snore!"
Hunterpaw snickered at his mentor, giving a shake of his head as he told him to lay off of Alunepaw. "Hey, its not like she'd ever take to me. I'm a 'Half-Clan Scum' remember?" He sounded amused, but an unreadable emotion flickered through his eyes. Okay, maybe it did bother him...Just a smidge. But he shook this off and started to follow before Springwind turned back to him.

Hunterpaw's ears laid back at his question and he found himself hesitating. Yeah, Springwind knew about his family life. Like how his mother had left his father for a ThunderClan Tom, gone off and had more kits. And his father had gotten a new mate just as easily, a mate who ran off every other day which made his father go after her, not to mention they had kits too, most of them not caring to interact with Hunterpaw. Oh, and not to mention his half-brother had showed up one day just out of the blue and tried to get close to him for some reason. Hunter wasn't letting him in easily though. And lastly, he had no idea where his father was, probably off chasing his step-mother again. Hunterpaw loved her like a mother but at the same time he couldnt help feeling a hint of resentment toward her.

He found the silence almost unbearable but he couldnt seem to find his voice at the moment, so when Springwind spoke again Hunterpaw was relieved at first, then not so relieved. His ears flicked as he looked at his mentor, his only father-figure he had in his life. "No, he's just busy," He objected, trying to defend his father, but he really knew all his father was doing was chasing his mother eveywhere, all the while hitting on other she-cats. Hunterpaw hadnt trusted relationships since his mother left, hence the reason he basically did the same as his father, moving from one she-cat to the next. Hunterpaw wouldnt admit it, but he did want a she-cat to love forever. Only problem was....Love doesnt last forever. His mother and father hadnt lasted, and he wasnt sure if his father and his step-mother would last either. It had Hunter wondering if there was any such thing as love, really.

Shaking his head to clear the thoughts, Hunterpaw looked up at his mentors next words, and he had to admit he felt comforted by them. The black and white Tom gave a swift nod of his head, not wanting it to get too emotional. Hunterpaw was never good at emotions...I get that from my father.

"Right...Now back to training." He stood up, ears pricking at an idea. "Any chance Fencall and Curlypaw can come along?" He asked hopefully, glancing toward the clearing for his best friend with a smile on his maw. It would make it all the more fun to have him there, too.

His eyes lit up at once when Curlypaw marched up, and a teasing look filled his brown eyes. "You snore." He sniffed, sitting back with a grin. "And you sleeptalk."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘’Pleaseeeeee.’’ A sugary accent made Springwind’s ears tilt forward, but he continued to walk. He looked down at the small she-cat next to him, begging him to train her, but he already said no. More than one. More than twice. It has been a constant game between them. Yet, Alunapaw already know her uncle wasn’t going to go easy on her. She knew that he already had an apprentice, and he was loyal to that tom. The feline rolled her eyes. ‘’I thought blood was thicker than water?’’
Springwind smiled down at the apprentice, swishing his tail lightly as the two travelled into the clearing. ‘’And, it is, but...Hunterpaw is a special case. He is like a son to me.’’
‘’But, I’m your niece! By blood.’’ She pouted.
‘’Stop being insensitive, Aluna. Please. Learn how to put others in front of you.’’
‘’All he do is just act like a jerk anyway,’’ the small she-cat huffed. ‘’I hope he knows some she-cats can’t stand him, and one of those she-cats is me!’’ Alunapaw trotted alongside her uncle, looking ahead at every other cat, hoping to spot some of her own friends. Ever since she were a kit, she was raised by Spingwind after the disappearance from her mother, and the death of her father. She hardly remembered them anyway, so it didn’t matter to her much at all. Springwind tried his best to take care of her. She recently became an apprentice. A needy one that would not leave his tail alone. As they continued to walk into the clearing, Spingwind spotted his apprentice under a tree. He shot the young tom a friendly look before he turned back to his niece, giving her a gentle brush of his tail.
‘’I want you to be more aware of your surroundings, Aluna. Please. And, be kind.’’
‘’What, do you mean? I’m always kind.’’ She states, rolling her eyes. With her growing up, had been a challenge. She became more sarcastic, more wild, more challenging for the eye. She was definitely her mother’s kit, that was for sure. Springwind shook his head and pondered if he should even say anything to his niece or should he go handle Hunterpaw for now. Choosing the later might be worthwhile at this point.
The older tom, nosed her cheek, and bid her goodbye. Alunapaw was displeased at his departure, but she knew he had other matters to take care of. The she-cat glared at Hunterpaw, giving him an unreadable expression before she turned off, her tail high in the air and began trotting away to find something to do.
Springwind appeared in front of his apprentice, settling down beside him. ‘’You doing okay this morning? Sleep well last night?’’ He brushed his tail gently over the black and white tom. He knew that Hunterpaw’s life was chaotic, and therefore that was the main reason as to why Springwind requested to mentor the young tom. He needed someone to balance out his life. Someone to give him advice. Someone to keep him from going on the same path as his father. Hunterpaw needed that. Hunterpaw needed him. ‘’Sorry it took me so long to get here, lad. That niece of mines,’’ Spingwind shook his head, sighing loudly. ‘’She’s growing up and becoming...a challenge.’’ He gave a light chuckle. ‘’But, no worries, I’m here now, and I hope you’re doing well because, we have a big day ahead of us.’’ He says, mustering a bright smile for the young tom. Then, his eyes traveled to make sure he could see that his niece was alright. She was a bit aloof, never paying attention to her surroundings. He was afraid that she might get herself killed before he could even find the time to protect her. Springwind shook his head. She would be alright. For now, he had to look around and help her get a mentor. That’s what she needed at this point in her life. Someone to guide her. Just like he was doing with Hunterpaw. A son he wished he had, but never will have.
@Dark Melody
As Caracalpaw was grooming, she thought about what she was going to do later today. Afterall, she couldn't spend all day sitting in one spot doing nothing but staring at others. That was just boring and useless. The apprentice liked to contribute to the clan. It made her feel important and useful. She wasn't lazy, in fact, she was a very hard-working cat. She didn't like average, she always aimed for excellent.
The female always believed that she was one of the 'better' apprentice's. The kind of ones who could catch on quickly and perfect everything with ease. This was half true. Caracalpaw was always able to catch on quickly when it came to learning new things, but she couldn't perfect everything with ease. Lots of things to her at least a training session or two to complete, if not more. It also depended on how advance the thing she was learning was.
The abyssinian had nearly finished washing the fine powder off her paws, now cleaning her last leg. She seemed to be in her own world and took no notice of anyone else around her. Without even realising it, Caracalpaw started to hum softly to herself. It was a song her mother had used to lull her to sleep when she was just a small kit. It had stuck with her ever since and she often found herself humming it when she was along.
Caracalpaw quickly realised she was humming and stopped immediately, actually feeling rather drowsy. How embarrassing would that be if someone found her humming a song that had made her fall asleep? The apprentice slowly put her paw back down on the ground and looked up. Trotting towards her now was an apprentice around her age. The she-cat tilted her head to the side ever so slightly as she watched the tom approach her, her expression blank.
The longer she examined him walking towards her, the more bored she got. The tom was of no interest to her as of now, so looking back down at her paws, she realised she had missed a spot on one forepaw. She lifted up that paw and started to lick it clean again. Whilst she was cleansing her paw, she noticed two paws now in front of her. Caracalpaw didn't look up though and continued to clean, pretending the stranger wasn't there. Out the corner of her eye, she could see that the tom was now circling her, a strange expression on his face. A surge of curiosity was strong enough to make the she-cat put her paw back down and meet the gaze of the other apprentice with a bored gaze.
"I'm a cat," Caracalpaw replied boredly. She clearly had no interest in this tom. As the tom stretched, she could see a small ripple going through his arm, however her expression didn't change the slightest bit. That's pathetic. Even i've got stronger muscles than him, Caracalpaw thought, rolling her eyes. As if wanting to shame him, the she-cat tensed her right arm, showing off her own muscles. They were about the same size as his. The apprentice stopped tensing once the tom started to speak again. "If you've never seen me then you don't know everyone," Caracalpaw replied bluntly, yawning and flexing her claws. How stupid is he? The abyssinian thought with impatience. "Plus, you're technically not that well known. You said that you know everyone, but that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone knows you," Caracalpaw continued smartly, smirking smugly at the end. "Also, I thought you might want to know, we live on the moors. Not the forest's," the apprentice said, her smirk still planted firmly on her face. She was clearly pleased with herself.
Spiralpaw. Caracalpaw had never heard of anyone in the clan with that name. "I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you're not that important. If anyone is important, it's me," the apprentice remarked with a boastful tone of her own. The abyssinian could already tell she didn't like this tom. He didn't seem like the kind that she wanted to be friends with. She especially didn't like his attitude. "You might be future leader. But i'm definitely gonna be future leader," Caracalpaw said, giving off another smirk. She was confident and she definitely had her eyes set on leader. But that could change on the day she become's a warrior. Afterall, it's every apprentice's dream to become leader, but many change their minds afterwards. "My name is Caracalpaw. Make sure you remember it because i'm not repeating it," the apprentice mimicked in a mocking tone, rolling her eyes. "Although one day that'll be Caracalstar," Caracalpaw said smugly. She liked the sound of that name.
"Well at least I don't drool in my sleep!" Curlypaw sneered, tail fluffing out "Or stuff my muzzle with rabbit."
"Guys...." Snowpaw sighed, not wanting to bother with her brothers
Hunterpaw gave a mock gasp at that, giving his best friend a playful glare. "For your information, Curly, rabbit tastes good!" He then smirked. "But, at least I dont put their fluffy little cotton-tails in my nest to show off how many i've killed and eaten!" He sneered, ears pinning back playfully.
(God I can just hear Cory and Shawn actually saying this stuff too XDD)
