Sharppaw walked to the event, his yellow eyes scanning his surroundings. So. Hunting, huh? Sure. Why not?

The fluffy brown tom was inside the warriors den after a days hunt and wasn't planning on coming out, but he heard Dawnstar talk about an event. He still wouldn't come out. Not until he heard the familiar sound of his clanmates. Still scared he padded out, hunching down to almost hide himself from attention. Nutwing didn't like being within too large of a group when hunting, but one of his apprentices was joining. He had to try and be brave for Duskpaw. He didn't show it though. Nutwing moved over to them without saying a word.

Once Cindersky was done with her part Shiningskies padded over to stand beside the molly and give some last tips before sending the cats on their way. She glanced over the cats to make sure they were all paying attention before she added on to what Cindersky had already said.

"To spice this up a little, there will be a way to earn extra points. As ThunderClan cats, we should be adept at climbing as it is what we're known for. Therefor, if you manage to catch a piece of prey by using the trees to your advantage, you will be awarded an extra point. This can be by leaping down from a branch on top of it, chasing a squirrel up the tree and catching it while climbing, or something else. Beware though, if you miss then you will lose a point."

She paused for a moment to wait for any questions or comments before sending them off to begin the event. "You may begin!"

Birchheart immediately went off looking for prey. After sniffing around saw a small shrew. He figured he’d stay on the ground for the first round.

Sharppaw decided to focus on the trees. He grabbed the trunk of a tree with his razor-sharp claws and climbed it till he was climbing a breach to a bird. The bird took flight but the black tom leaped, digging his sharp claws in the bird's back, almost falling out of the tree. Oh shoot. He forgot about his broken tail. But he still caught the bird and didn't fall. he climbed higher.

ShadePaw saw another aprentice and decided to follow them. His strategy is to catch whatever the other sees. But when they climbed up a tree he decided they weren't going to get anything and walked off.

At first, the black tom had tried to ignore the noise from outside and instead focus on himself and mind his own business, but the raised voices from there had wormed their way into his ears however much he had tried to keep them out. He wanted to be alone, and therefore had planned to stay out of this little game, but it seemed to be a competition, and it wasn't like Batpaw was busy anyway, so sharpening his skills couldn't hurt.

Quietly the tom slipped out of the den and slowly walked along the shadowy wall, waiting until Shingingskies gave them the green light, and disappeared out. He had yet to train in climbing, so he used his other skill and found the shaded place under some large oaks, where his black fur could melt into the darkness. He was looking for shrews and voles, maybe a squirrel if he found one, because few birds were around right here, and mice felt like too simple prey to earn him the victory.

~ Moosecrash ~

Giving a dip of his wide, striped head, Moosecrash headed out of camp and rolled his shoulders, releasing the tension in the muscles.
Okay, let's see...
He parted his jaws, letting the prey scents wash over him. At least there was prey to detect now that Newleaf had arrived. Quickly zeroing in on a nearby scent, he noticed a vole digging among the leaf litter. Dropping into a hunting crouch, he worked his way carefully among the bracken, waiting for the perfect chance to pounce.

And he was off! Quickly going to his usual hunting spot. He had hunted here a bunch, but as an apprentice and in more recent times, and knew these parts like his own tail. There were usually a fair amount of mice around, so maybe he could snag one of them back.
