Ray narrowed her eyes slightly. Why had Cane jumped when she had asked him that question. Hmmmm. It could have been that Cane was just startled. Or maybe his mom was dead and it was hard to talk about her but maybe just possible there was something else going on. The she cat had a feeling that Cane was hiding something. Of course! Remember Ray don't TRUST ANYONE. Ever. Not every cat is what they seem. The gold and black she cat felt a pang of sadness she had quite liked Cane...not in a love way! Just...a friendly way! Yeah! Definetly....she just liked...Cane in a friend way. NOT ANY OTHER WAY! Just as a friend......

Ray narrowed her eyes as he directed the conversation in a well...different direction. Great. Now we're back to basic conversations like that...but that's fine. We probally should have started out with questions like that. "I like mouse and bird," The golden and black furred she cat mewed. Ray enjoyed decorating her nest and den with feathers when she could. Espicially the colorful ones. Her favorite feather color was probbaly a dark rich blue. While Ray loved feathers she usually didn't reveal that it seemed vain to her to care about looks so she kept her fondness of pretty feathers a secret.

He nodded. "I'm sorry I looked startled earlier... It's just my mother died when I was 5 moons. I had been on my own until I met you."

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Why had Ray thought that Cane was trying to hide something! How could she have been so insensitive!(Honestly Ray wasn't sure it was a curse and gift). Cane's mother had died! He hadn't been lying or hiding anything! Grrrrr! Ray why were you such a mousebrain!? Ray growled softly at herself. Oh man Ray hated admiting this but, "No. I'm sorry I shouldn't have gotten suspicous I get it I've been on my own for a now to but hey at least we've got each other!" The blue and green eyed she cat mewed playfully bumping into Cane in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Cane smiled, "It's okay, you didn't know." he bumped her back. "Wanna go back to the den now?"

He tilted his head, "My mother said she believed there is. So perhaps." he answered in front of the den as he walked inside.

"Maybe" Ray murrmured as she slipped into the den beside Cane. She quickly sat down the she cat hadn't realized how late it was! Not to mention how tired she was! Soon Ray slipped into a peaceful sleep.
