Bluefrost did nothing more than sigh as she heard her named added to the list of cats that hadn't shown up for battle. She didn't really have an excuse for it. She had no one to blame but herself, hearing that all they had to do was hunt to make up for it wasn't that bad. The clan needed more prey and it was a start to makeup for her inactivity. The feline didn't see why some cats were making such a big deal out of being called out like this. They should just shut up, go hunting, and make sure they're there for the future battles. Seeing that the meeting was dismissed, Bluefrost got up and went to go find her apprentice, Rabbitpaw. They should start hunting before it got too late.

Softpaw didn't feel well, she managed to touch noses with her new mentor with a forced smile, but didn't really feel happy about it. Russetpatch seemed like a nice cat, Softpaw was pleased to hear that they'd start training tomorrow instead of right this second. The apprentice quickly scurried off to the apprentice den, she hadn't done anything remotely strenuous but she felt so tired.

It was embarrassing that Ravenheart was still talking to Icestar after she had made herself clear about where he stood on this issue. Snowpeach cringed from the interaction, from his demonstrated stubbornness that made him more of a liability than someone to count on. "Are you deaf? Icestar just said which cats were actually helping, and I don't think you were on that list, Ravenheart. This isn't an attack on your character, this is reality." Since he seemed thickheaded and too caught up on a false sense of nobility, she said it nice and slow for him: "Your clanmates were fighting their asses off, and you briefly showed up for a whisker to escort one elder. It sounds more like you were escaping your duties than actually trying to be helpful to anybody. You didn't fight, you didn't come back until it was over, all you're doing is causing us to be ashamed that we share a clan with such a mouse hearted fool."

Snowpeach merely shook her head at Willowpaw, naive and clueless to the true nature of this warrior who was blatantly selfish. "You're a sweet lass. Don't waste your words on someone who didn't care to defend you when he had the chance, dearie. If he wants to think it's right to barely show his face around here when it counts then have the audacity to argue with our leader, I suggest believing him when he shows his stupidity."

Before Ravenheart actually had time to answer, a voice cut him off and he looked over at the entrance to the elder's den, where a tom wobbled out of, Brokenclaw. "If you two don't stop, I'll make sure to have Icestar get back at you both, and hard." He said, glaring at his son and at Snowpeach afterwards, who didn't look injured at all. "You're in no place to speak, warrior, from the looks of it, you haven't even stepped on the battlefield either and you dare to tell my son that he did the same, you're no better and you should both feel ashamed of yourself, I might get old and be a limping ball of fur, but I can still stand my ground, so unless the two of you want to end up as crowfood, I suggest you stop before Icestar gets involved with this stupid matter." He growled and glared at his son, to whom he pointed the exit to camp and then at Snowpeach. "From what I know, my son is training his apprentice well, so don't get involved in his personal stuff if you can't even protect your own clan, in my days we would've been killed for such foolish actions, it's like seeing two kits fighting for no reason, now make yourself useful and go hunt or something." The tom added finally.

He then looked over at Willowpaw, she had to endure this stupid matter as well and that was shameful. "Don't bother listening, young one, your mentor hoped you'd come by or follow his scent, I can't quite walk right as you can see. So I hope you understand that he couldn't quite come looking for you." He said. "And again... I'm sorry that you have to... endure these kits fighting." He meowed before he lay on his stomach beside the entrance to the elder's den and gave a dismissive gesture of his head.

Ravenheart had listened to this and his face had grown warm with embarassment, his father had practically gotten him to shut up and he did doubt Snowpeach would try to come back from that, so he said nothing and lightly tapped his tail to Willowpaw's side and gestured her to leave camp with him.

(Aaah I made my post many hours ago but just now saw that it didn't actually post. So here is a re-write)

Emberpaw had stayed out of the fray, choosing to make herself useful by guarding the herb supply. It pained her to hear the troubled cries of her clanmates in battle, but she knew she'd only be in the way if she rushed out there. She'd hold her ground inside the medicine den, and call out an alert if any enemies tried to ransack the supplies.

She was on her paws in an instant, fur standing on end, when she heard commotion at the den entrance. By the time she'd limped out of the shadows, there was what looked to be an apprentice, lying at Bearpaw's feet, shrieking. Her first assumption was that the young cat had tried to attack the medicine supply, and she was about to cheer on the medicine cat for stopping the affront, but...She could sense some other kind of tension in the air. Something was off.

"Bearpaw?" She called out hesitantly. "What's going on here?"

"Oh, I'll get involved alright," Icestar limped up to the bickering quartet. "While I admire your sickeningly-sweet loyalty to your family, Brokenclaw, Ravenheart, there are other cats in the clan, you know." She looked to Snowpeach, who the brash elder was currently insulting.

"I don't know where you've been, either of you useless cats, but Snowpeach is a queen! Of course she didn't fight, you imbeciles! If you don't learn your damn place and stop mouthing off instead of accepting that you were wrong, I'll find a worse punishment for you than hunting. And oh, stars forbid I make you hunt for your clan! Oh, what a horrible punishment! Truly, I'm such a tyrant, aren't I?" She scoffed, sarcasm dripping from her voice.

Her attention turned to Willowpaw and Snowpeach once more, her gaze softening.
"The two of you, let me know if these flea-bags give you any more trouble. Willowpaw, as much as I hate to say it, your mentor did leave you alone in that battle. He was too busy caring for this one mouthy elder than the rest of the queens, kits, and elders who needed him. Be grateful, Brokenclaw. You're the only one he tried to save. And thank you so much for threatening to get me involved, so that I could properly tell you and your no-good, waste-of-space son to buzz off and do something useful, instead of sitting around complaining and arguing with a queen!" Her rasping voice raised with every sentence, directing all her rage at the two toms.

"Now get out of my sight, Ravenheart."

Tallmarsh opened her mouth to growl a nasty reply at the ShadowClan tom, but she was cut off by Flintstar's response. She couldn't help but smirk as he spoke, but she still bristled with anger. Her ears pinned to her head at Thunderhowl's next retort, and as soon as Flintstar walked away, she snapped, "Why don't you tell Icestar not to expect my help next time you get attacked?" She spat at the tom's feet and gathered up her herbs, still seething. Then, with one last glare in Thunderhowl's direction, she followed Flintstar out of the camp.

"Good riddance!" Thunderhowl called after her, amusement lacing his words. Did those idiots think he gave a damn? "Don't need your slug-paws touchin' my Clan-mates, they deserve quick and efficent treatments!" They'd be here for another moon waiting for Tallmarsh.

And speaking of waiting, his patience for the oversized kitten was wearing thin. "Bearpaw! BEARPAW!

Raventuft growled, turning on the apprentice. His eyes narrowed and he showed his teeth in anger.
"In case you haven't noticed, you're not part of this conversation, 'paw! So I suggest you keep your own irritating mouth aside." He thought for a moment, "Don't you have duties to attend to? And here you are calling me lazy..."
He turned back to Icestar, narrowing his eyes in submission.
"I might as well catch some prey for the pile- then maybe some cats will be appreciated."

"Do you not have duties to attend to?" Falconpaw shot back. "You sit here bickering with Icestar because you failed to defend the Clan as a warrior and feel unfairly treated for being told to hunt. You would better do what she told you to do-- it is the only useful thing you would have done for the Clan." If Halestorm felt like going training, he was more than happy to go with her.

But until she came or until Raventuft left, he was content with giving this idiot some attitude for throwing around lazy when he had no excuse for his inaction.

"First, I did help, maybe not in the way you expected me to, but I am not you. And I never complained about hunting- I was just hesitant because I wanted to set a few things straight." Raventuft mewed, his head jolting back to stare at the apprentice. Apprentices are nosier than I remember...
"Now shoo."

"Did you help?" Falconpaw asked. "Please. Enlighten us what you did, so proudly, that was significant enough to invalidate Icestar calling you out on your behavior? Being sent hunting was your punishment, and you called it unfair. That is far from setting things straight!

Were you not going hunting? You still seem hesitant to do as you were told. Shoo, shoo, shoo yourself-- you have a job to do! Make yourself useful for once."
