Her paws sunk into the sand a lot but the birds didn't seem to notice a black cat stalking towards them. Once she was as close as she could get, she prayed to Starclan before pouncing on the nearest seagull who was distracted in pecking at the weird creature. She felt her claws sink into flesh and tried to pull herself on top of the creature as it tried to fly away. She was sure she had caused a commotion but she was going to catch this bird. She used her free forepaw to slap at the bird's wing. She then brought that forepaw to try and hug the seagull before latching it on the neck. She felt the bird weaken and soon the seagull stopped struggling and just slumped to the ground. She bit the seagulls neck, putting it out of its misery. She left the bird there before taking a closer look at the creature that had been the birds' meal.
@superstar
She padded across the sand, smiling. “Great catch, you seem to be better at catching birds than I ever was.” She chuckled a bit, trying to freak the ice between her wind Shypaw. Glancing down at the dead animal before them, she gasped. “Is that a… turtle?” She nudged the hard shell, shocked to find that a small twitch occurred when she touched it. “I think it’s still alive, maybe we should help it.” Glazing at the coast, she felt bad. How had this sea turtle made its way to the coast, so weakened that it’s unable to move across sand? For all she knew, it needed to be back in the water so it could move with ease.My, oh my. What an odd occurrence.

She flooded into the beach, taking a deep breath in. Fish. Water. Salt. Sand. Aside from burning wood, this collection of scents was her favorite. It just radiated genuine joy and peace, and she could only vaguely describe it with words, if she even attempted to she would be stuttering so much one would think she was having a stroke. Just being there made her smile, and she knew she wasn’t the only one, of course she wasn’t. Being at the beautiful beach could make the grumpiest cat crack a smile.

“Ah, even more seagulls out than usual.” Observed the molly, glancing up at the sky. But of course, that wasn’t all. There was sand mice sharing the beach with them as well. The great part was, they didn’t even burrow in the sand, they just hid in grass patches in the sand! All one would have to do is leap into a patch of grass in hopes of scaring one out of it’s hiding spot. Ooh. Hiding spot. She scanned the area, squinting at every patch of grass to see if any movement could be caught.

She noticed one patch move around a bit, but it wasn’t to be decided yet considering how far away she was from it whether or not it was just the breeze. It was considerably warmer out, seeing there was no skycover. Not clouds, trees, nothing. She padded out into the beach, her jaw hanging open slightly. She caught wind of a small rodent. Knew it!

♢ Snowleap ♢

Making his way onto the familiar beach, along with Raccoonear close beside him, Snowleap breathed in the salty ocean air. To some, that odd smell could be annoying and even cause a stinging sensation to one’s nose, but the tall warrior loved it so much. He could even hear the waves lapping against the shore in the distance. Glancing at his clanmate, the dark-furred tomcat smiled, seeing her enjoy the sights and smells of Lionsbeach as well. This place was so wonderful. He hoped he could come here someday to relax and explore instead of hunting.

His ears twitched, hearing the molly beside him comment on the abundance of gulls out today. This made Snowleap lift his gaze, seeing many seagulls flying through the air, some diving into the ocean water as they looked for fish to catch and eat. The Riverclan tomcat parted his jaws to see what else was around and various scents filled his mouth. There were so many choices for them here! The realization made Snowleap’s eyes widen with both excitement and genuine surprise. “Starclan has blessed us with a perfect hunt today…” He said to Raccoonear, blinking at the Riverclan she-cat before looking back out towards the beach itself. Snowleap silently followed the molly down towards the shoreline as she seemed keen on something in particular. Opening his jaws again when he saw her do so, the very evident smell of a rodent hit him.

“You want me to flank it in case it runs or you want to get this one yourself?” Snowleap whispered softly to his clanmate, stepping closer to her to where the tall tomcat stood beside Raccoonear. This was different than catching a gull or squirrel and he knew his friend was more than capable of hunting herself, but he wanted to lend a paw if needed. If not, then he’d just go find something else to hunt while she did her own thing.

~Shypaw~
Shypaw lightly shoved the seagull aside and watched as Raccoonear poked the creature. She pricked her ears in interest as the creature moved at the touch. A turtle? She really hadn't heard that word before and had never seen this creature before. Shypaw slowly moved to sniff lightly at the turtle's shell. She noticed that at the front there seemed to be the two front legs and she was surprised that there was no leg in the hole but just the two legs seeming to be hiding whatever lurked inside the small opening. "We could try and nudge it or carry it to the water. I don't think that it's position will change. It seems to just be hiding." She meowed in the voice that she hated but she was genuinely worried for this creature.

@superstar
Scanning the creature, it seemed to be too heavy to carry from this point to the coast. They would just have to push it, whiten would definitely be more efficient. “How about we push it? It seems to have a pretty tough undershell that can take a drag across some sand, it’ll be just fine once it’s returned to the water.” She stated, glancing at the turtle, then back at the coast. It was such an odd occurrence to find a turtle washed up, she had only seen such a creature one other time in her life, and it was still far out in the ocean where one could just barely tell what creature it was.

She lowered herself to her haunches, scooting over to where the turtle was positioned. Maybe it wouldn’t be too hard, considering the size of the turtle. It seemed to be relatively young, and still not fully grown, but also not super small. beginning to picture how pushing it across the sand would go, she processed every aspect.

The sand was damp, so the turtle would glide slowly across with the correct force.the tide wasn’t too strong today, per usual, so they probably wouldn’t have to worry about that. Once they approached the coast, they could just give the turtle a good push, and the job was done!

If not, then he’d just go find something else to hunt while she did her own thing.
She crouched down, trying to control her ever-lashing tail as to not make a sound. As she slowly approached the patch of grass, she heard Snowleap’s offer. Keeping her eyes on the prey, she turned her head a bit. “Ah, I’m alright. I got this one.” she mewed in reply, turning her muzzle back in the direction of the rodent.

She had a favorite move, it took powerful force, but it always worked for her. She once tried to teach occultkit the move, (on a bug, of course. No kit had the strength for real prey at his age.) but even on the grasshopper they had spent hours trying to find, he couldn’t do it. On the thought of occultkit, she looked up. If stars are starclan cats, he must be up there, glistening bright. She shook her head. She had to think of him sometimes, but now wasn’t the time. It was time to hunt, and the mouse could scurry off at any time.

She glanced down at the paw she usually performs the blow with, and backed up, preparing to leap with the correct force. It was a precise move, but most importantly was angle. She spent about five seconds moving from side to side, getting into perfect position and posture. She then leapt, and oddly enough, it didn’t seem she would land exactly on top of the rodent. What?

She had one outstretched arm, and as she neared the sandy surface, the mouse came into vision. Then, with a dull thump she stroked the mouse with her paw, killing it. As she landed, she smiled, picking up the prey. Oh, what joy it brought her to perform that move, it was so fun.

~Shypaw~
Shypaw listened to Raccoonear's words and nodded. "We'll flip it on it's shell and push it quickly in case being upside down is uncomfortable. We should flip it right side up once it's in the water, in case it can't flip itself." She meowed before getting up close to the turtle as well. She sniffed around the turtle before deciding to dig the sand out from the side that was closest to the water. It would make it easier to turn it over. Once she had dug as much as she could without digging out all of the sand under it, Shypaw used her nose and pushed up on the opposite side of the turtle. She quickly steadied the turtle as it flipped onto its shell. Then, she started pushing, alternating between using her head and using her paw.

She placed her flank up against the turtle and pushed. Raccoonear firmly planted her paws in the ground before beginning to move the turtle, as she wanted to get a good starter nudge. Hm, it was lighter than she believed it to be. Guess turtle’s don’t keep that much in their shells. She though to herself, looking up as she switched to using her head to push it across the beach.

As they neared where the water met the sand, she precautioned Shypaw. “Alright, once you get them in the water I’ll take it from there.” She planned it all out in her head. The molly had observed that Shypaw had more than enough strength to get them over the damp sand into the water, and Raccoonear could see that the turtle would glide into the water with ease, so she would be there to flip it over. It may be difficult in the water, making her thick pelt heavy, but it was surely possible, and she liked to think of herself as capable.

She trotted into the water, descending and going from wading to swimming as she moved into the correct position and angle. Now, they just had to get it flipped over, and the job was done.

~Shypaw~
Shypaw gave a sort of grunt as a response, too busy with the turtle to nod or say anything. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Raccoonear leave and go to the water. Shypaw kept pushing, using her strength more as she got to the sand that mixed with the water. She felt the scent of the salt more closely and she felt the very thin lap of water on her paws. She gave one final push and backed away, watching the turtle starting to slowly go more into the water as the lapping water carried it.

Raccoonear drifted through the water towards the turtle, and realized she had nothing to gain purchase on, after all she was floating. She would have to figure something out. Maybe the force of paddling could do it? She shook her head. Paddling is probably too weak, but one had to have hope.

She relaxed her whole body for a second before beginning to flip her legs rapidly, placing both paws on the shell of the turtle. Wonder what it has been thinking this whole time, is it worried? Scared these odd cats are touching it? Was it caught by surprise when it was in the water again? Caught up in her thoughts, she didn’t realize she had done it and the turtle was already swimming away.

“Great job, Shypaw. We saved a turtle! [sksksk ;> ] “ She smiled, watching it drift away into the ocean. She had never done anything like this before, and it brought her joy to think she had participated in a team effort to save another creature.
