Thornkit smiled, bounding after Brackenheart, all his life the tall tom hadn't known he was adopted, and he was incredibly close with his parents. "Yea! Kits will just get dirty, ma keeps grooming be everytime I eat, I can never get peace!" he wriggled his hind quarters, leaping into the air, catching a small crow's feather as he landed. He yelped as a thorn stuck itself into his paw, with him whimpering.

Mockingkit didn’t really like socialising with the other kits. Not normally anyway. The kit was very specific and picky when it came to choosing friends. And honestly, you shouldn’t turn down a friendship request from her. For those who she liked, they would have her loyalty and protection. Not having many cats who were very close to her meant that she was always extremely careful in making sure that she didn’t lose the few friends that she had. With a blank expression on her maw, Mockingkit looked around for something that would interest her. Although, after taking a scan of the nursery, she could conclude that that was pretty hard to do. Not looking, but finding something that could be of interest to her. This she-cat wasn’t like most of the other kits in the nursery. She was more….serious. She didn’t find much joy in jumping around and enjoying life with her siblings. The second part was mostly because she didn’t have any siblings. Anyway, Mockingkit just didn’t find the joy in little things that other kits did. She was more focused on the future and was serious about most things. She had quite a sharp tongue too.

It wasn’t going to be long before the she-cat would shift to the rank of apprentice. And truth be told, she really couldn’t wait for it. The tabby didn’t have anything against the other cats in the nursery, but they weren’t exactly the type of cats that she liked hanging around. Hopefully as an apprentice she would be able to find more cats that she would like to be around. Two moons, that was how much longer she had to wait before she could be apprenticed to a warrior. Mockingkit often found herself wondering about what her mentor would be like. If they didn’t like her, she wouldn’t care much, but she hoped that they would like her. The she-cat was one that yearned for respect. She didn’t really care if her mentor wasn’t going to be her ‘best friend’, but she at least wanted respect. Respect was an important thing and it could give you many great things in life if you had it.

Had she earned her share of respect yet? That was another question that Mockingkit spent her days pondering on. Unfortunately, she had not yet managed to find her answer, but the she-cat was sure that she would find it in a few moons. Being a former longer meant that she had to work extra hard to earn respect from her clan mates. And it was something that she was willing to do. This orange tabby enjoyed being a hard worker, it was a challenge in life and one that she was happy to overcome. Mockingkit was quite ambitious and had her goals in life. Goals that she probably wouldn’t ever say to another cat, but they were there.

Finally, the kit found a small, stale piece of moss. No interest sparked in her eyes, as the moss wasn’t actually that interesting. However, the she-cat was desperate to find something to do and would use whatever she could find. If old moss was all that she could find, then so be it. She just needed something that would keep her from falling asleep on the spot. So with that, she reached for the piece of moss, hooking it by her claw. It dangled from the tip of one of her claws, her golden eyes watching it boredly. Finally admitting that this wasn’t going to help her, she flicked it off her claw before sighing. There can’t possibly be nothing to do. There’s always something! This is the nursery for StarClan’s sake! Mockingkit thought, frustration bubbling in her golden hues. The she-cat then had to quickly remind herself that she wasn’t exactly like the other cats. She was slightly different.

In her three moons in RiverClan, Mockingkit had managed to find herself believing in StarClan. At first she had thought about it as just a dumb joke, but soon she found herself seeing that it was true. It was something that had intrigued her. Something that she wanted to see with her own two eyes. But as she thought about it, she decided that perhaps she wasn’t that interested in seeing a cat that was now dead. The thought was actually kind of creepy. After all, wouldn’t you technically be seeing a ghost if you were to see a StarClan cat?

Letting out an audible sigh, the tabby she-cat let out an audible sigh before rising to her paws. She glanced from at one side of the nursery, before glancing at the other. Her golden gaze scanned the nursery yet again and once again, nothing seemed to be of interest to her. She was about to lie down and take a nap, when suddenly a particular tom cat caught her attention. Her gaze snapped back to the spot where she had seen the cat, just to check that her orbs weren’t playing any tricks on her. A small smile grew on her maw as she saw that she really was seeing what she had seen. She padded over to the other kit, a wide grin quickly growing. “Hey Hawkpaw,” Mockingkit greeted, not exactly sounding excited despite the excitement in her eyes. That was another thing about Mockingkit. There were times where she didn’t really like letting emotion showing through her voice, and this was one of those times. Emotions were something that the she-cat just preferred to keep to herself at certain times. After all, not everyone needed to know everything. If every cat in the world knew everything about it each other, the world would be filled with chaos. It didn’t sound like a pleasant place and Mockingkit was glad that it wasn’t that way. It was pretty different from that. There were many secrets that just one cat could know, and maybe no one would ever know of them except for that cat. But some secrets were better kept hidden.

@Noire
Hawkkit had laid in a corner, having to just woken up. He rested in an empty mossy nest, his nose twitching. Since he was not allowed to leave the nursery, still being a kit, the tom had tried wasting his days by sleeping, hoping that the next moon would come by quick. Oh, how excited he was to become an apprentice! He would finally be six moons, the age to start his training. That was the one, and only thing he was looking forward to. The only downside to that was, he would hardly be able to see his best friend, Mockingkit as she had to wait two more moons to become an apprentice. Though the tom had promised himself that he would see her daily. The advantages of living in the same clan.

At the moment, he was deep in thought. Worried and fawning over the future. He wondered who his future mentor would be--good or evil? Would he make any friends? Any enemies? Would his mentor be impressed by his skills? Oh, how he had skills! In his opinion anyway. Hawkkit tried his best. His absolute best at winning any challenges. Challenges was his favorite, and he never cheated on one. He was too prideful for that. Though he wasn't the easiest kit to get along with.

Not many cats would know what pushed the tom's buttons, but yet, they wouldn't care. Hawkkit would get mad quickly. Ferociously anger over the simplest of things. Anger issues, known to others, but to Hawkkit, that was simply who he was, and he was quite proud, yet unhappy about it. From his corner of the nursery, he could make out a familiar face, looking distant, yet focused. He wanted to chuckle at her, and get up to talk to her, but his bones felt lazy, and he was quite comfortable in his spot. So, he laid his eyes on her and watched her. His yellow hues looking at her with pure interest.

She was an interesting kit indeed, if he dared admit. He was surprised that she became his best friend. She was the antidote to make him calm from an angry state. This was because he could relate to her in some way. He never seen her socialize with the other kits, not even he dared to do the same. What was the point of small talk anyway? Small talk was certainly a waste of time in the tom's opinion. Aside from that, he never truly met anyone that interesting to him. Except for Mockingkit. She wasn't as bouncy as the other kits. More mellow, and calm. More interesting.

Just so, he was watching her twiddle with a moss on her claws. Looking at it, trying to figure out what she's going to do with it. At this point, Hawkkit gets up from the nest, and he stretches, leaning down to extend his claws. He was contemplating about talking to her. Something he did everyday and found humor in it as well. She was the better company, the better cat, the less annoying cat. Before he could even make his move, she had already appeared before him. Her tone was dull, but that had not mattered. Her eyes displayed her emotions clearly.

''Hey, Mockingkit!'' In contrast to her, the tom's voice was light and friendly. It was how he acted whenever he was around her. He was happy to be around her. To be her friend. The tom let out another yawn, drawing sleep away from his eyes. He hopped out the nest he was laying in, and landed in front of Mockingkit. His head went from one side of the nursery to the other, observing the surroundings, and the queens. Their kits, some younger, some older. The smell of strong milk hit his noise, and he didn't know whether he would miss it, having to become accustomed to it, or ready to leave it behind in hopes of never having to return to the smell.

He knew he would have to return to the scent at some point in his life. Especially when he's an apprentice, and he would leave his best friend behind. It sucked that she would stay in the nursery, and he would be out...free...but he wasn't going to be free without the orange tabby in front of him. His smile widened as he lightly nudged her with his paw, ''Bored as usual, I could tell.'' It should had been a question, for he didn't know how she really felt, but from the way she was playing with that moss, not really giving any enthusiasm for it, he possibly guessed right that she had been bored.

It was quite amusing to him. Everything about her was amusing, and he wondered how ever could such a cat bring fun to his life, when they both seemed like the bland type of cats? The tom shook his pelt from the clinging moss, and he sat down on his haunches. If only they could do something for the day, but what would that be? Being confined in nursery walls were never his thing. But. As he looked at the orange tabby once more, he knew that he would be far from boredom once they start sharing their pathetic gossip and poor jokes. Which of both he was pleasantly fond of.

Splashheart had her head on her paws, her eyes shut. Any other Queen would be swooning over her newborns, but Splashheart was particularly frustrated right now. Why? Because her mate was nowhere in sight! And he'd promised to be there. The gray she-cat couldnt help but feel hurt by this, but she shook it off and cracked her eyes open to glance at her three kits, allowing a small smile to twitch at her lips. You know what...Who needs him. "I've got you guys," Splashheart finished her thought aloud, giving each of her kits a soft lick on the head as she gazed down at them.

She knew the mean thing to do would to be to name them all and not give Mixedfur any say, but she had to forgive him. She knew she would as soon as she saw him, and he'd want to name one of them. But as her gaze fell onto the oldest, the only Tom in the litter, her eyes glazed over with an unreadable emotion and she pressed her nose gently to his head. "Fiercekit," She whispered, more to herself than to her son.

The youngest girl, a dark gray she-cat with a white muzzle, chest and paws, was curled up into a ball. She mewed as her mother made contact, and stirred for a moment, before falling back to sleep with a soft yawn.
''Are you sure Splashheart won't mind you being out here with me?'' Dottedflame, a good friend of Mixedfur prompted. ''I mean, she's highly close to her kitting.'' He says, and jumps onto another rock. Mixedfur, behind him, jumped onto a few more, landing near Dottedflame. ''I'm sure I'm not missing anything.'' The tom shrugged, but an uneasy feeling laid in the pit of his stomach. Maybe he was missing something; something important. The tom didn't think Splashheart would be going into her kitting. After all, he was with her yesterday, and tended to her needs. She was fine then, much more heavier though. And, today would be like yesterday. Later he would appear, and he would tend to her needs.

The grey queen had been driving him insane, if he were being honest. Though that was his mate, and he loved her more than anything of the world. She would be the mother of his kits, and as the father, he had to take initiation and do what his responsibility holds.

''Okay, if you're so sure of yourself!'' The other tom replies and hops onto another rock, Mixedfur towing behind him. Today, Mixedfur wanted some time to himself, and he was positive that Splashheart wanted time to herself as well. So, he ventured off with Dottedflame, and the two began hopping around the rocks by the river. It wasn't safe for them to do this, but it was fun and it brought a light weight smile on Mixedfur's expressions. Though his heart lingered. He felt that he was missing something important, and going on with that feeling, he tells Dottedflame, ''Maybe...I should check on Splashheart.'' He says, and makes his way from off the rocks. Dottedflame nodded, and carelessly continued to hop around.

The mixed colored maine coon ran towards the nursery den, his heart wrenching. From outside the den, he could scent the smell of milk, and the mewing of kits. Not just any kits, but new kits. His eyes widened, and he darted into the den. ''Splashheart!'' He shouted, and pinned his ears against his head, quieting his voice. He padded towards her and watched as three small kits laid at her stomach. It was a sweet sight indeed, and he turned away from his kits to give his attention to his mate. Lightly, he pushed his muzzle into the crook of her neck, giving her tender licks. ''I'm sorry. I'm so so so sorry. I didn't think you would give birth today. I'm a foxbrain, I swear.'' He says, his words muffled against her fur. As he brought his head up, and gently gave her a lick between her ears, he bent his head down to look at the small kits. One was his splitting image, the oldest of the bunch, and the biggest. A small replica of him, oh boy! Then the other two, both girls, small greys and beautiful as their mother. Mixedfur wished to touch them. To feel their soft pelts, but he knew Splashheart would get defensive, as every queen would be about their new litter. ''You did a terrific job, my heart. Our little Mixedhearts.'' He says, and lays down at the foot of her mossy nest, admiring her, and doting on their kits. ''What are their names?--Wait, don't tell me you named them yet! Don't tell me you named them without me!''

The oldest kit, a stubborn tom took charge. Before his father came into the den, he was nosing his way to his mother's stomach, scenting a fresh of relief. Since he was blind and deaf, he mewed loudly, but could not hear himself. The world was quiet. It was silent. As he nosed his way, he bumped into the other furry balls, and climbed over one until he was pleasant at wherever he was. The soft pelt of his mother brushed his nose, and he moved his head around until he caught hold and latched on, feeling the warm liquid flow down his throat. When his mother made contact with him, he stopped nursing and let out a mew of annoyance, or love. He felt that she was distracting him from her feeding, but he allowed her to linger there as he, once again, attached himself to the warm liquid.

Splashheart looked up when she heard her name being called, and at once she let out a warning hiss, flicking her ears toward her kits with a deep scowl on her muzzle. When she saw it was her mate, her lips curled back slightly and she turned her head away with a growl, deciding to give him the silent treatment. Though she knew this couldnt last for long, and she was right, because a bunch of mixed emotions swirled through her as he pressed his nose into her neck.

With a sigh, Splashheart allowed her muzzle to gently press against his cheek, a soft purr making its way to her throat. "Well you are a foxbrain." She grumbled, before a smile took place of the slight frown on her maw as she giggled. "To be completely honest, I didnt think i'd give birth today either. But still," Her smile fell away and she looked down at her kits, then her paws. "It would've been nice to have you here."

Though she knew why Mixedfur had began to keep his distance, and silently blamed herself for being so tough on him. But she just shook her head and smiled up at him again, trying to hide the pain in her eyes. "Relax. I only named one." She flicked her ears toward the oldest kit, gazing down at him with a slight grin as she went on, "Fiercekit. You can name the other two." She laid her head on her paws, but continued to gaze at her kits lovingly, smiling softly.

Mixedfur purred, ''Fiercekit, huh? After your father?'' He guessed, knowing a bit about her family. As much as he could remember of what she told him. His nose twitched as he leaned as far as he could without touching the kit. He didn't want the new mother to hiss about him. He now understood why queens were so protective of the little ones when they were small mewing messes. It made his own heart grow as he stared at all of them.

''They're extremely small, my love.'' He tells them, specifically talking about the two girls. His son looked like a hefty one, the largest and oldest in the litter. He must had been a pain coming out! Mixedfur stared sadly at his mate, knowing he should had been with her instead of trying to have the day to himself. He felt ashamed and selfish, and vowed to always stay by her side. As she would still be in the nursery for a lot longer, tending to the kits, Mixedfur would make it his job to be with her often. ''Tell me anything you want me to do, or anything you want and I shall go through extreme lengths just to prove myself to you.'' He tells her, his voice deep and sincere as he laid his head down on hers for a second before pulling away and turning his attention back to his kits.

The youngest girl looked a lot like her mother, and it made him smile. Having two Splashhearts in the litter had to be something. Wild. It scared him. Not only were they two little Splashy's, but they were also his daughters. His daughters. They were his little girls. As he looked at the youngest one again, the name slipped out, ''Splash.'' Though it wasn't a name he meant to call the small kit, only that she looked very similar to Splashheart, and whenever he looked at his youngest kit, he would be reminded of her mother. ''Let's name her Splashkit.'' He tells her gently. Then turns his eyes on his other daughter. Another twin to her mother. ''It seems like you and our daughters could be triplets.'' He chuckled before he went deep in thought trying to figure out the perfect name for her.

''I think Squirrelkit would be perfect for her.'' He let out a purr of amusement. ''How do you like those names?'' He asked her, leaning his head closer to hers, and staring at their growing family. A new adventure would await them all. And, truthfully, he was excited and frightened at the same time.

@Suspiciousmindz

Fernkit squirmed in his sleep, he was dreaming of exploring the territory and fighting off enemy cats and other dangerous creatures. The small kit jerked awake when an enemy cat hit him in the head. The tom looked around the den with wide eyes, the dream had felt so real. He yawned loudly before standing, now that he was awake he might as well stay up. He kneaded his white paws into the ground, his gray tabby pelt was covered in dust but he didn't bother to fix it. Fernkit never really cared about his appearance, he stretched his hind legs and looked around the nursery. Most cats were still sleeping, 'This would be a good time to explore!' He thought. He searched the room for another kit to explore with, his fern green eyes landed on a dark brown she-cat with black legs and face. He searched his mind for a few moments, trying to remember her name. 'Coalkit!' He remembered. Coalkit was a pretty quiet cat that Fernkit had never really talked to or played with, he had gotten to know almost every other kit in the nursery and he didn't want her to feel left out. The slender but tall tom made his way over to the she-cat, he nudged her a bit. He didn't want to scare her, "Hey! Coalkit! You wanna go see outside the nursery with me?" He asked.

Ripplekit was curled up into a ball, dreaming about one day becoming a great warrior. He did not exactly enjoy this dream, because he'd always wanted to be a medicine cat rather than become a warrior.

Sleeping with no mentor or caretaker with him, Ripplekit continued dreaming...

Sunpaw walked into the nursery.
Her yellow fur blowing as she quickly walked in from the rainy outside. She flicked her tail, looking down as she dropped more Moss into the pile. It had grown quite large, and she didn't want to go back outside. Looking down, she saw a small fluf of fur. He was curled up in a ball, So Sunpaw went to start with him.
Carefully moving, she began to take moss from under the nest and replace it.
Trying not to wake the kit.

Feels movement around him and slowly starts to wake up, seeing Sunpaw. "Oh, hello Sunpaw." The tom slowly changes to a sitting position after stretching.

Sunpaw jumped back slightly, scared who she would anger. "Go back to sleep sweetie, your mother might be mad if you wake up."
