She paused, tail flicking.

She herself was unsure, imagination mixing with fact. Was it ever shared? Still, it could be a nice game for the littles.

She’d almost shudder at the memory of them.

Irisflame. She missed her friend so.

Hailstorm. Icestar’s other daughter, Dawnstar’s sister. Information that pained the queen to share with kits so young, information she would not yet speak.

“Dawnstar,,, became,, leader – then. Spending,,, no more th-than,, a few,, minutes. As,, deputy. She,, is the one who – who led us,,, here. To this,,, new camp. She paused, tail flicking. Silently her eyes fell on each kit, noting the silent curiosity in Sleepykit’s eyes, who had been listening intently.

“Relations,,, with. Other clans,,, have,, always,, been difficult,, and,, complicated. I,,, tell you,, these stories so,,, you can,, make your,, own opinions and – know,, your past. But,,, there,, is a thin,, line,, between right – and,, wrong. And,, a lack of,,, context can,, make that,,, that line,, very blurry. And,, this happened,,, a while,, ago.

Silkkit listened intently as Nightshiver spoke, and would occasionally find himself scooting closer to the forever queen, ears trembling with unbridled emotions he hadn't a name for.
Once she had finished speaking, he let it all flow through his little mind, and scenes played out in his head in ways he was so sure it all must have happened like.
Questions, though!
He had quite a few of those.
He raised himself onto his haunches and raised a tiny paw, and waited to be called on.

When his own name graced his ears, he let himself drop back to the ground so he could speak properly.
"Why did Icestar... Demote Beastspark after so many seasons of loyal service? Did he do something she hated? Did he stop doing his job like a lot of our deputies did?"
He ignored the fact that one of those deputies included his own father. This did not need to be brought up here.
Could be even call Vulturefang his father? He was never there for him.
"And if Dawnstar had no deputy experience when Icestar died.... Why didn't the cat with experience take over as leader? That doesn't seem like good practice."
How was the cat supposed to be prepared for the responsibilities that came with being a leader of all things? They lucked out that Dawnstar was a capable leader even without the experience, but there had been no telling if the sudden shift would have broken a lesser individual.
He'd had other questions but..... They'd slipped his mind.
He'd be satisfied with just these two.

Darkfall padded into the nursery. It was one of the few opportunities he had to check on how the kits were doing, and he was going to make full use of it. As he stepped in, he noticed that Rainykit was lounging about, fur strewn all types of ways. A low purr rose in the back of his throat as he padded over. "Hello Rainykit, why's your fur going this way and that, hmm?" he asked with a light smile.

[ Let's pretend that this isn't late -- since this was technically started before the drama, you get a happy arkdad. Ignore how poopy it is, next one will be better]

"Sure!" Midnightkit says, with a slight excitement creeping into her voice. She loved making new friends and was quite excited.
