Kitty Softpaws - Active | Ultimate Predator - Inactive
The sentient ball of chocolate fuzz moved silently through the night. Late evening. Look, it was still light out. Sprucepaw - ew... must... tolerate... for
them - needed his beauty sleep, thank you very much. It wasn't like he was about to try and sneak into the medicine cat's den to visit The Boulder in the dead of night? Heavens knew what kind of deadly, plant-y traps
she had littered that infernal, devilish den with in the first place. If you thought about it, he was only being practical. Thoughtful, even! This way, The Boulder would be wide awake - maybe even bored and in need of company - and his enemy the herb cat would be out of the den doing... whatever it is that evil herb cats do during the day. Probably torturing some other poor bloke with fiery-pain-that-doesn't-go-for-a-few-days-curse-you-all nettles.
A rare smirk crossed the long furred apprentice's maw, satisfied that his plan was flawless! And he'd barely had to think about it at all. Just his average genius at work, really. His dark, plush tail was soon wagging, just the twice, but enough to show his glee. Soundless paws made their way through the clearing until he spotted it. The den's entrance.
Licking his whiskers, the seven moon old found himself hesitating for an instant because... he could still remember them. The prickly, stinging leaves that had made him feel like his face and paws were on fire for enough days that he'd had to change he way he walked if he didn't want to screech in agony at every pawstep. It wasn't like he could avoid walking altogether. He had to eat, after all. Who was going to feed him if he didn't feed himself? No one, that's who! But he had done it! He had come out of that torturous journey victorious! So the question remained... did he truly want to risk an encounter with the fiendish molly that had sent him to meet his demise at the grasp of those horrendous plants again?
The smirk soon died, leaving his more usual, blank, emotionless void in his eyes as he stared into the dreaded chasm of darkness that was herb cat's lair. He considered leaving. Running away and going back to The Boulder's nest. A nest that every day lost their scent just a little more, making Sprucepaw miss them all the more. A barely noticeable frown furrowing his brow, the young tom decided the risk was worth it. If only to see his hero. Besides... The Boulder was his mentor now. It was only natural that he went over to check up on them!
Silently, the apprentice looked around, careful to make sure he couldn't spot the forbidden one. The tabby pelt seemed to elude him just now, and with renewed confidence the Birman mix ran off, a streak of chocolate brown fur broken only by his single white gloved hind paw. Maybe he should have taken the time to grab prey for his mentor before visiting them, but there just wasn't any time! He had to avoid detection at all cost! Otherwise who knew what that horrible feline would do to him next!
