though, it never felt right [p]
"the evil it spread, like a fever ahead. it was night when you died, my firefly."

[tw: death, grief, violence, emotional duress]
life is a fleeting, fickle thing.
rowanhowl had no way to know what the night would have for them tonight. there was a cold wind in thunderclan territory tonight, and the midnight sky shone beautiful and unfiltered upon the forest canopy. it was tranquil, almost, like the ending scene of a novel.
it was final.
they had a feeling- not bad, per-se, but final. the ending chapter, the closing scene. the bittersweet feeling when the curtains close at the end of the play, or the credits roll at the end of a glorious show. rowanhowl treaded graceful and light-of-feet over territory they had seen a thousand times. they wanted to see the stars over the riverclan border again, to see the way the reeds danced in the wind and the way the stars stared back at rowanhowl.
made 'em feel like a young, wide-eyed 'paw again. they smiled up at the stars and imagined them staring back, smiling, too.
there was something so wholly peaceful tonight, among a glorious midnight sky with stars so bright and not a cloud to behold. it made rowanhowl understand why they stayed- fought the unnecessary battles and obeyed commands. it made them understand why they stayed, after everything their mother did, everyone they lost, every argument or glare or glance or annoyance.
it made sense under the cold scrutiny of the stars, and it was peaceful.

Losthunter: She/Her
Losthunter needed out from camp, there was to many cats around and they were so loud why cant they ever just shut up! She started to make her way to the border, hopefully no one will be there and she can get this STARCLAN FORSAKEN BUZZING to stop, why doesnt anyone understand! They just need to leave her alone but they cant even do that one simple thing right, its almost like they want to end up 'accidentally' bleeding out, its what they deserve.
She hissed to herself as her head continued to be deafening in thoughts and endless static, why wouldnt it stop. She had stopped paying attention to where she was or if anyone was around. All she could think about was how everyoneelse was the problem. She didnt want to leave her clan but her clan needed to learn. Someone needed to fix their behavior, maybe she should, seeing as obviously no one else is going too
She arrived at the border and stopped walking, not actually seeing Rowanhowl on the other side of the border but it seemed like she was looking directly at him, lost in her mind

rowanhowl watched the riverclan molly just about meander up to the border, head tilting slightly as they leant back and relaxed on their haunches. no need to act hostile- what reason did rowanhowl have to snarl at riverclan cats anyway? they offered an award winning smile as she trotted up, seemingly upset.
her abrupt stop and subsequent staring- just staring -caught them off guard a little, and their ear flicked nervously. they cleared their throat and offered their most amicable greeting.
"beautiful night for a walk, isn't it?"
and it was. the stars in the sky, gentle and crisp wind, subtle frogsong in the distant riverclan fields. all of it was divine, tranquil. it felt so kindly, so eternal on this night.
if rowanhowl could choose one moment to stay in forever, they'd had picked this very one. it was so beautiful, so warm. too good to be, as they say.

Losthunter: She/Her
Losthunters thoughts came to a pause although the static grew ever louder for just a second as the other cat spoke. She didnt hear what he had said, all she knew is that he was making things worse. No one else seemed to be near.
She could teach him to shut up.
Her eyes fully focused on the warrior infront of her, feeling of being stared at getting all the more intense.
She processed the scent as thunderclan and it solidified her idea. Its just some stupid thunderclan, her clan wont care if hes taken care of.
She gave a low growl as she hunched down and sprang into a pounce claws fully extended at Rowanhowl, aiming to knock him over. "Why doesnt anyone ever just shut up its loud, so loud" She hissed out quietly but loud enough he could hear
