Spiderpaw was sitting in the Riverclan clearing, grooming his pelt. He hadn't been doing much that day other than resting and going out by the river. Most of his days were spent like this, which overtime made him quite depressed. He wanted to do something, but he had no clue how to do most of the things other apprentices knew how to do. He could feel himself getting more and more frustrated every time he saw another apprentice with their mentor, or just another apprentice in general. I bet they have no clue how lucky they are. He pulled his ears back, and went back to cleaning his fur. Deep down, he was hoping today would be different, but he really couldn't get his hopes up that much. At this point, he was hoping for a miracle.

Flintstrike had been lazing about - the usual, of course. Seriously he wasn't the one to "step up" and "do what's needed" unless it had something to do with battle or training his apprentices. He got up, grabbing a cod from the fresh-kill pile, biting into the delicious, pale pink flesh. Quickly he finished up, stretching and letting out a yawn. Gosh he was tired, and cats never let him sleep. Every single time a little kit or apprentice - sometimes even a warrior - approached him, and disturbed him. Probably he should just retreat into the warriors' den and do his resting there. Usually he wouldn't notice anyone else, but today he was tired and a lot more bored than usual, so he watched an apprentice pin back his ears. Head cocking to the side Flintstrike made his way over.

"Not having such a great day, eh?" the senior warrior asked with his normal rough voice.

Spiderpaw looked up at the senior warrior, and tilted his head slightly. Well, this is one way to uh get a miracle. Unless it isn't one... I better not be getting yelled at for laying around...

" I'm doing... okay. I haven't had much to do recently. How about you? "

He wasn't used to having attention on him, especially when it was the middle of the day and cats were bustling around. There were more important things to pay attention to than a "lazy" apprentice, so it was rare to come upon someone willing to spend time with him. Spiderpaw really appreciated it, but something continued to lower his mood. He didn't know what it was, but pushed it away. I'll worry about it later.
