How was Whitewolf so good at this? She's missing a leg for Starclan's sake! She watched the senior warrior with amazement as she splashed around. Compared to Whitewolf's effortless floating, Robinwhisker felt like a fish out of water. Pun intended. She flailed about, head barely above the water line and claws unsheathed as if they could some how latch on to something.

This was... not her proudest moment. But darn it if she wasn't going to become the best swimmer in all four clans! Good enough to beat that rat Kestrelstar in a swimming competition, good enough that their thorny medicine cat would smile. Good enough to make Sprigcloud proud.

"I can do this!" She declared triumphantly. Green eyes set ablaze with confidence. Unfortunately, not long after she began to sink. "I can't do this!"

Thunderkit padded into the clearing she had heart that there was swim lessons she didn't know why Thunderclan needed to learn how to swim but she came anyway!

The tom swam more closer to the shore and approached Pinewatch with a nod of their head.

Another kit had shown up to learn and it looked like a couple more ThunderClan Warriors had achieved a partial mastery of the swimming skill. Good; they would need it. And Whitewolf planned on assigning them to help others to take their development a step further.

"Well done, Heatherflight and Mistyshade," she said with a nod toward Thunderkit. "Mistyshade, will you help Thunderkit?" Pinewatch and Thunderchaser surely had their paws full so Whitewolf wanted to cut them a break anyway. Speaking of Thunderchaser, she was interacting with Littleberry right now, who seemed eager to learn. And Sycamorecreek was asking for help. These were all wonderful signs that cats were learning new things.

When Robinwhisker put in effort, Whitewolf's eyes shifted to where she struggled to stay afloat. It was an overstatement to say Whitewolf's swimming was effortless--she still moved her legs wrong now and then and had to correct herself--those adjustments were making her more aware of how to help her clanmates.

"Robinwhisker, it's not like walking. You have to use your left set of legs together and then your right. And try staring at something level like the horizon so your body isn't off kilter." If that didn't work and Robinwhisker started drowning, she'd need to tell Pinewatch or Thunderchaser since she didn't exactly know how to approach that problem. She would try if she needed to but she had come here to teach and not to become a liability.

Ok this was NOT working. Her lungs were positively screaming for air. When her head was above water (which wasn't often, this swimming stuff was hard), she held her breath. There was no way she was gulping up the dirty river water! Every single Thunderclan cat was in here!

Somehow she splashed her way over to the shoreline, no doubt engulfing a few innocent bystanders in the tidal wave. Her paws now touched the sandy floor, and her lungs could inhale that sweet, sweet oxygen. Swimming isn't like walking Whitewolf began, critiquing that embarrassing display Robinwhisker called swimming.
Oh. Well... I suppose that makes sense. She thought with a nod towards the senior warrior. "Ok, let me try again."

She waded slowly back into the water, making sure to keep her eyes focused on a particularly interesting tree. It was by no means a perfect second try, but at the very least she was staying above water. "I'm doing it!"She yowled triumphantly before accidentally inhaling some water. "BLEH"

At least Heatherflight and Mistyshade were prepared for the race at the end of the event. While that was a good thing in itself, Whitewolf wanted more of her clanmates to learn to swim in case the worst happened and they were left defenseless. And over half of the Clan still didn't bother to show up for this.

When Robinwhisker reached the shoreline Whitewolf let out a brief sigh of relief; ThunderClan had few Warriors as they were and she didn't need some of them drowning. Plus Robinwhisker seemed like someone with a lot of potential.

A glint of amusement entered her eyes as Robinwhisker sank following the thought she had swimming handled, and for a shadow of a moment she looked like her former self. But the unfeeling expression that replaced what had been the ghost of a smile sent that fleeting memory back to hell.

"Keep trying that, Robinwhisker. You'll have the hang of it."

Taking a deep breath, Lastkit slowly waded back in.

C'mon. You got this.

Once again, his striped legs began to kick all on their own. This time, however, he would control them.

Left, right. Left, right.

He formed a rhythm with his paws.

He was doing it! Sloppily, sure, but doing it!

Awesome! sense your used to it. You want to start to kick both left legs and then both right legs. Its like walking but faster. Try running in the water its like that. She did the same. she started swimming.

Riverpaw started out slowly which didn’t go to well for her and she started to start panic, only seeing half was hard enough but then a rush of fear and not liking the water and not knowing where he paws were? She had forgotten they were in the shallow part and was flailing splashing water everywhere

Aspenkit on the other hand got it pretty fast it wasn’t the most graceful thing but he was able to swim pretty well but there was water splashing and it didn’t look great
