As Sproutwhisker told the other tomcat of his beloved Talonfang, he almost became lost and emotional from speaking of their early times together. It seemed like so long ago, but it was only several moons earlier - it was one of the best times of his life and it pained the young male that there could no longer be any more memories like that with her. He was thankful, however, as he saw Whisperblaze listen to his tale with interest and sympathy, which made the tomcat smile through his emotional moment. Perhaps he wasn’t all alone in this, having good friends like this to support him. Sure, Sproutwhisker did not know Whisperblaze as well as his other friends - Hawkfeather, Flintheart and Pinewhisker - but he was willing to make new close friends like this in his own clan. “She truly was.” He murmured, tone softened, “She was such a wonderful cat to me and I will always love her..” The black-furred male gave a sigh, knowing that life would be much more difficult for him now that his mate was gone and there would be more responsibility on his shoulders. However, as he thought about this, the other male beside him spoke words that almost made another set of tears come to his eyes. “Thank you, Whisperblaze..” The widow said, more than grateful for his kindness, “That brings me more comfort than you realize.” He did not know what else to say, so he just rested his head on the still body of his mate, silently grieving again. Soon enough, the tomcat would go bury her somewhere where she could rest in true peace.
