Exclamation Re: Drowning In Memories

Morning Dew - Abandonment

"And this one will be-" "Pipsqueak," a black tom growled, staring down at the tiny ball of blue. The gray cat looked up at the tom. "Raider, That is so rude! He is our son. We must give him a proper name," she said, looking fondly at her son. "The others died, and he looks like hes about to. He's so small and weak. There is no way that... thing," he growled, poking the blue kitten, "is my son." The gray female looked up at him, hurt in her eyes. "But Raider! He's the only one I have, and he's your only son, too," she spat, moving herself to hide her son from view of the black cat. "No. I had others, but they were weak, just like him. Now, get out of the way," he growled, Unsheathing his claws. His green eyes gleamed with malice for the kit. "NO! RAIDER WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I WILL NOT LET YOU HARM OUR KIT!" she yowled. She picked up the kit and rushed out of the den. The black tom trailed her. The gray she looked weak, and soon found herself surrounded by water. Her eyes filled with horror and fear as she turned to face the black cat, no where to go. She dropped the kit and stepped in front of it to defend it. "If you want to kill him, you have to go through me," she snarled. The black tom gazed at her for a moment before leaping on her. He bit her neck as the gray cat collapsed to the ground, blood spurting from her wound. The black tom stepped over her before turning to the kit. He raised his paw, and then was knocked down. "Leave that kit alone!" the stranger spat. Two more came through the grasses. The one that pinned the black tom down was chasing him off. One of the two newcomers rushed over to the gray female, blood pooling at her head. "What happened?" they asked as the other inspected the kit, making sure it was okay. "R-Rain. Protect him. Please," the gray female begged, tears streaming from her eyes. "I love you, Rain," she whispered, closing her eyes. She let out an exhale before she stopped breathing. The cat that had tackled the black tom padded back. The one standing above the gray female turned to the kit. "Rain. We will bring him back to RiverClan, where he will grow as our own. Rainkit," they stated, picking up the blue tabby. Rainkit let out a squeak. His eyes weren't even open. A small drop of blood escaped a nick on his side. "He'll live," stated one of the cats as they turned to go back to their home. Rainkit would grow up there. Away and protected from his father.
