Skyfeather braced himself to fight the tom. He tensed his muscled and lashed his tail from side to side. Then something distracted him. The way Cherrydawn had yowled. Don’t you touch him... The words rang in his ears. Why had she said it like that? She had basically told him that she didn’t want to be with him anymore. Did she change her mind? Skyfeather was to focused on trying to figure this out that he had forgotten all about the tom that was trying to attack him.
